Meet Georgia, a loving, resilient Shepherd ready for a home of her own! Georgia is a beautiful 3- to 4-year-old German Shepherd who has been overlooked for too long—but she deserves so much more! Despite her limited vision due to pannus and dry eye, Georgia is full of life, love, and playfulness. She wears her signature Doggles™ when out in the sun, and her daily eye drops help keep her comfortable. Georgia adores people and is happiest when she’s with her humans—whether it’s going for a walk, playing, or just soaking up affection. At the shelter, she was so scared, but with kindness and patience, she has blossomed into a fun, loving, and trusting companion. Because her vision impairment makes her feel vulnerable, Georgia isn’t comfortable around other dogs and needs to be the only pet in the home. But with her loyal heart and joyful spirit, she’ll be more than enough to fill your home with love. Georgia is waiting for someone to see past her challenges and recognize what an incredible dog she truly is. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion, Georgia is ready to be your best friend for life. Available for adoption in the Greater Los Angeles area—reach out today to meet Georgia! Story
Meet Marie, a loyal and devoted companion for an experienced home. Marie is a stunning 5-year-old German Shepherd with classic good looks and a heart that, once won, is yours forever. This well-mannered girl enjoys her daily walks and, once she trusts her person, becomes completely devoted—putty in your hands. Currently in the care of German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, Marie was once in a loving foster home, but her protective instincts became too strong, leading her to guard her favorite person. Because of this, she needs an experienced home where her natural tendencies can be managed with patience and structure. Marie is not suited for a home with children and will do best in a quiet, adult-only environment with minimal visitors. She can be wary of strangers, so a low-traffic home will help her feel secure. Due to her dry eye condition, which affects her vision, she can be easily startled and needs an understanding adopter who will give her the reassurance she needs. Marie is intelligent, knows her basic commands, and is eager to keep learning. She thrives with an owner who understands the loyal and protective nature of German Shepherds and can provide the leadership she needs. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home, as she truly just wants to bond with her special person. If you’re looking for a devoted, intelligent, and loving companion and you live a peaceful, private lifestyle, Marie may be the perfect match for you. She’s available for adoption in the Greater Los Angeles area—reach out today to meet her! Please visit our website to complete an adoption application: https://jasonheigl.foundation/adopt/marie

Story
Say hello to this beautiful bonded duo! A volunteer spent time with them and had this to say: `They don’t currently have names, so as always, I started calling them names I made up. The smoother coated mixed breed was “Boots” and the husky was “Sneaker”. Not intentionally shoe themed, but there it is. These 2 stunners are super sweet, in need of a spa day to get those winter sheds handled, and pretty chill when we hung out. Boots is the braver of the 2- coming up to me immediately and bring super curious and trying to hog all the pets being offered. Sneaker is way more shy, slower to warm up and content to hang back a little and just get her measure of me. Once we were hanging out for a bit they both determined I was pretty nice and knew all the good places to scritch and even had a pocket full of treats. We were limited in space, so I didn’t get to see them play or cut loose, how they behave on leash or around other dogs- maybe next time we will. I can say they were very gentle with me, even when pushing each other around. Not particularly reactive to the noise and movement going on around us. I was expecting to get pummeled by young playful dogs but they were very kind and polite. I was honored when Sneaker decided I could give pets and even a kiss on the head- since she’s so shy. We went slow and I had her smiling by the end. They’re really a lovely fluffy duo of ladies that would make for a great family completing pair.` Come to the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Boots (A127648) and Sneaker (A127649)

Story
Meet Lottie, a stunning, resilient Malinois looking for her forever Home! Lottie is a positively breathtaking 1-year-old purebred Malinois with a heart as big as her spirit. Born blind, she may not see the world like other dogs, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit! Lottie has a zest for life, loves to explore, and even surprises everyone with her absolute love for swimming—she confidently gets in and out of the pool once she knows the steps! Originally found as a stray, Lottie was given a second chance thanks to a Good Samaritan and the wonderful team at German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. She thrives in the company of other dogs, happily following a confident leader, and she’ll do best in a home with a friendly, well-balanced canine companion to help guide her. Like any young Malinois, Lottie has plenty of energy and loves to play—sometimes a little too much for small dogs, so she’d do best in a home with medium to large dog companions. While she may startle easily until she learns the routine, she’s incredibly smart, eager to adapt, and housebroken once she knows the way out. Lottie deserves more than life in a rescue kennel—she needs a loving, patient home where she can continue to blossom. If you have a big heart, an active lifestyle, and a welcoming dog to show her the way, Lottie just might be your perfect match. Are you the one to give this incredible girl the forever home she deserves? Reach out today and make Lottie’s dream of family life come true! Meet Valentine: A Diamond in the Rough, Ready to Shine! After fostering Valentine for the past two months, I can say it’s been nothing short of an honor to get to know this incredible girl. Her journey has been far from easy, but there’s something so special about her that I know will resonate with the right person. Once she feels safe and secure, Valentine is all love. She’s goofy, hilarious, affectionate, and the most loyal companion you could ask for. Valentine does best when she has her toys to chew on. It helps her relieve some stress, and once redirected, she sticks to her toys—she’s a quick learner! As a Malinois, she’s got the energy of an athlete, so her morning walks (about 45-60 minutes) are a must. After that, she’s totally content to rest and cuddle up with you at home. Her past has left her a bit skittish around sudden noises and chaotic environments. She is potty trained, but you will need to show her her new routine in your space before she understands when and how to hold it until she’s outside. We have been in professional training together and she’s doing well with positive reinforcement, making great progress, learning commands like “heel,” “stay,” and “off”. With more time and love, she’ll continue to grow into a confident, well-rounded dog. The right owner for her will continue training with love and commitment so she’ll keep blossoming into a dog that will fill your life with joy. Valentine needs a calm, secure home where she’s the only dog. The ideal adopter would be someone patient and understanding, willing to help her navigate the world at her own pace. In return, she’ll be the most devoted, fun, snuggle-loving adventure buddy you’ve ever had.Bonus offer: I’m happy to offer free dog-sitting or walks anytime you need them, just to make sure Valentine always gets the love and care she deserves, even if you’re out of town. ?? If you`re ready to help Valentine continue her journey and offer her the loving forever home she deserves, please reach out. I promise, she’ll bring so much happiness into your life (she already has in mine)! ????Valentine is in a Foster Home and not housed at the shelter. Please contact our foster coordinator at vbasfosterinfo@gmail.com to arrange a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Tiffany!Tiffany is a 9-month-old Belgian Malinois with a heart full of love and loyalty. Tiffany has already learned commands like “sit” and “stay,” and her foster mom says she’s very well-behaved in the home—respectful of her bed and furniture, and great on a leash, usually walking calmly right by your side. She’s deeply loyal and protective of her person, which is typical of her breed.Tiffany has done well with her foster mom’s male roommate, but she did react negatively to another male visitor, so she will need slow introductions to new people, especially men. Because of her protective instincts and high energy, she’ll do best in a home without small children and with a secure yard where she can run and play. Belgian Malinois are working dogs who need both mental and physical exercise to thrive, and Tiffany is no exception. If you’re familiar with the breed and ready to give Tiffany the structure, space, and love she needs, she’ll reward you with endless loyalty and affection. From a volunteer:She’s still a young pup at approx 10-11 mos old, and has a playful spirit to go along with her age (she was very tolerant of me messing with her toys- check 2nd video). Mainly she loves love! She is a huge fan of meeting people, making friends, showing love and getting it back in return. She’s definitely part Malinois with the intelligence and loyalty that breed is known for. She’s also super snuggly and happy and just straight up gorgeous. She was already playing with another volunteer when I showed up and crashed the party. Tiffany welcomed me immediately as a new friend and asked me to join in the fun. I only meant to drop by but then I couldn’t leave cuz she was so much fun and just so full of joy. Tiffany deserves a forever home with humans who appreciate her goofy side, are eager to teach her everything she needs to know as an adult pup, will take her on long walks & adventures and are ok with her sharing the couch on movie nights. I am fully jealous of the family that ends up getting her as their forever buddy- she is an absolute prize of a pup.
