We rescued Audra off the euthanasia list in the nick of time at a crowded California shelter. German Shepherd mixes sadly are not making it out in many cases but we saw what human social, loyal, affectionate dog Audra was in shelter videos and felt we needed to help her. - Approximately 6 years old and 60 pounds - Likely a German Shepherd mix - Bonds closely and quickly with people and absolutely adores them. Very affectionate and doting dog! - Good with cats and is currently fostered with two kitties. Audra has been appropriately curious and respectful of their space. - Reserved and nervous of other dogs. Audra tends to avoid other dogs and would absolutely love to be a solo dog in the home. We have not seen her be aggressive to other dogs. But she does try to avoid them. She is not reactive on leash and can walk past other dogs without issue. She is non-confrontational with other dogs. - Fostered with kids ages 12+ and really likes them - Walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling - Rides really well in the car - Working on crate training and doing well with it. She tolerates the crate and we are continuing to build a positive association with the crate. While in the crate she sometimes howls. - Loves to play with toys - Knows sit and shake. We think Audra must have had a prior home who taught her some skills. - Freshly groomed and deshedded on 12/14/25 Audra is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Hi, I’m Fern! Honestly, I answer mostly to squeaky toys and snack bags right now. I’m a 14-week-old puppy, probably a Boxer/Shepherd mix (your guess is as good as ours), and I’m in full bloom — the wiggly, bouncy, endlessly curious kind. Like any good plant, I thrive on love, attention, and a little structure to help me grow strong. I’m playful, sweet, and very into my people. I’ll follow you around the house like a sunflower chasing sunlight and melt into your arms when it’s time to rest. I don’t know much yet — I’m still figuring out this whole “being a dog” thing — but I’m eager to learn and always down for a challenge (especially if treats are involved).
