Story
Teague is absolutely show-stopping! This boy is a looker with a goofy personality. Teague was in a local Oregon shelter for two months and no adopters came for him so we accepted Teague into our rescue to help him find a home and get him out of a stressful shelter. * Adoption fee waived to help Teague find a good home! - 16 months old, 75lbs - Possible German Shepherd/Doberman mix. He was a stray so this is our best guess. - Tall, lanky guy with a happy personality - Loves to play with other dogs! - Water dog and enjoys laying in his doggie swimming pool - Ball/toy enthusiast and is often carrying around his ball or favorite toy - Know "sit" and "lay down" is an eager student for training. Very attentive and treat motivated! - Good with his potty habits - Friendly with everyone he meets, no stranger danger issues - No cats - He's a big boy so kids ages 5+ would probably be best if there are children in the home - Can pull hard on the leash and will need someone able further reinforce not pulling. He also has some leash reactivity towards seeing other dogs. He can usually be redirected with treats and distance. - Teague unfortunately does get car sick. We will send him along with some Cerenia which is an anti-nausea medication that prevents him getting sick. Teague is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, microchipped and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. Adoption fee waived to help Teague find a good home. Story
Samurai is a Husky/Shepherd mix puppy that found himself in a California shelter with his mom and 9 other litter mates. We brought the whole litter plus momma dog up to Oregon for a new start. Samurai is in a cozy Sherwood, Oregon foster home and he would love to meet you. Samurai is his foster mom's FAVORITE puppy out of the whole litter! -Mom dog is super sweet, social and submissive. She is 57lbs. Dad dog unknown. - 3 months old and 13lbs currently -Samurai has been well socialized with other dogs, kids and is fostered with a cat. -Loves to play with his toys and be cuddled up with people. -Knows "sit" and "down" already and is super smart and treat motivated for training! We are looking for committed adopters that understand the Husky/Shepherd breed mix is active and will benefit from training early on prior to 6 months of age. Our goal is for adopters to invest in a basic obedience class at a minimum to help these pups mature into well mannered, socialized and manageable dogs. Samurai has had three rounds of puppy vaccines, multiple rounds of dewormer, a microchip that is free to register, flea/tick preventative and adopters are given a free wellness exam at one of our four partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Tualatin or Milwaukie. Adoption fee includes neuter surgery at our vet in Milwaukie, Oregon in March 2024 to give these pups time to grow more. $300 adoption fee + $100 refundable spay/neuter surgery deposit that comes back to the adopter on the day the puppy has surgery. Story
Cliff was a puppy that spent 5 months in the shelter and sadly was growing up there. We got him out of the California shelter, into a foster home and are working to help show him the good life now! - 10 months old, 43lbs, tall and lanky - Possibly German Shepherd mixed with a bunch of other breeds, a classically handsome mutt! - Loves people and really wants to cuddle and play - Adores other dogs and would love a playful dog in his future home - Has been fostered in California and Oregon with cats and does great with them! - Fenced yard please since he thrives best when he can get his zoomies out - Walks good on leash - Good for car rides but still learning how to jump in - Potty trained and learned to use the doggie door when he was in foster in California - Crate trained - Active, athletic older puppy who is super treat motivated and would love to train with you. Knows "sit" well. - His foster mom says he is super loveable and very smart! She says he has been a pleasure to host in her home. Cliff is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Story
Oona is a gorgeous girl who had been in a rural shelter in California since January of this year. We were able to squeeze her in at Agave Dogs Rescue and can't wait to help her find her best match in a new home! - 51lbs, 3 years old - Possibly a German Shepherd/Husky mix - Loves all people and is happy and kind with everyone - Good with other dogs and was kenneled with a male dog her size at the shelter for the full 8 months they were there. She would love a dog friend in her future home! - Nice house manners - Medium energy, not super high energy - Knows sit. Very food motivated and eager to train with you! - Hops into the car for car rides and does well - Not leash reactive - Good with her potty habits - Has been around kids but young, active kids tend to spook her with loud sudden noises. So likely kids ages 8+ would be best. Oona is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $150 adoption fee Fostered in Beaverton, Oregon SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Valor is an amazing German Shepherd puppy! He is social, sweet and very personable! Valor was found as a stray in California and a kind rescuer picked him up and kept him from going to the shelter. - 60lbs and estimated to be 11 months old - Medium length, beautiful fluffy fur. You will love this guy's fringe! - Great with other dogs, kids and even met a cat and was able to redirect away from the cat. We will do additional cat testing with him but so far we think he is cat workable. - Loves the water! - Hasn't show any leash reactivity - Will crate, barks some initially then quiets down - Knows "sit" well and is food motivated to train with you further - Has a nice "off switch" and will settle in the home - Nice medium energy, especially for the breed. Not a high drive dog. - Goofy, loveable, soft temperament, would be a nice dog for a beginner German Shepherd owner We are looking for an adopter who values enrolling in a training class to help Valor be his very best adult self. We believe with these large breed young dogs, that training is essential to help them succeed. Valor is fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He will be neutered at our vet in Milwaukie, Oregon later this year. Neuter surgeries are scheduled a couple of months out and he is a large breed puppy who will benefit from having his growth hormones a little while longer anyway. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $150 adoption fee Fostered in Milwaukie, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and company used. Northeast transport fee is $200. The Northwest and Midwest transport fees range from $225-$350. The Southeast transport fees range from $250-$350. GPRS has proudly placed thousands of Great Pyrenees and GP mixes in the PNW for over a decade.
