Story
German Shepard needing a new home Rex’s basic info: Breed: German Shepard Color: Tan/brown/black/fawn Age: 16 mo Size: Large Weight: +/-90 lbs Sex: Male Crate-trained No chip He has not been neutered About Rex: Rex is 16 mo and is pure love in dog form. He absolutely lives for playtime and has the happiest, most playful spirit whether playing with toys or running around outside. Rex is a sweet dog and gets along with both humans and pets. He can get overly excited and want to play, nibble and find things to chew when not exercised. He is not yet trained on all his behaviors yet so he needs someone who can spend some quality time with him on this. He does know what sit, lay down, wait, off, come here, okay, but has not perfected it yet. Rex needs a loving home that can take the time to train and exercise him, he is a ball of energy. Having a second pet in the home is preferred but not required. If you feel he and this fits you please apply.

Story
We adopted Janner 3.5 years ago and have had intentions to spend more time with him, but in the busyness of our family life he has spent too much time in a crate in the garage. While we walk him twice a day faithfully, it has become a challenge for us to spend any more time with him. He’s a very sweet dog and deserves a life and family that has more time to spend with him. We spent some time investing in a dog trainer early on and he is very bright and playful, although he has lost most of his puppy energy from the early days. I used to run many miles with him and I’m sure he would still enjoy a slower paced run with the right adopted family.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Vanna. Vanna is an approximately 4-year-old, spayed and vaccinated German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She’s playful, affectionate, and very much a “velcro dog” who loves being close to her people. Once she bonds with you, she’s happiest by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home. She loves playing fetch and going for walks, and she’s great in the car, making her a fun companion for outings. At home, she’s been trusted to free roam and isn’t destructive at all she just wants to be near her favorite humans. When it comes to other animals, Vanna is best suited as the only dog in the home. She can be playful with very well-matched dogs (generally larger dogs around 90 lbs or more) as long as there are no resources to guard or compete over, and she’s good at picking up cues when another dog is done playing. She’s not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave toward her, so continued leash work and training will be important. The good news? She does great with dog-savvy cats! Vanna is reserved with strangers at first but remains friendly and warms up with time. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries. She currently doesn't have stairs where she lives, but will likely have no issues with them and settles nicely into a home routine. Like many dogs who’ve been through a lot, Vanna is still working through some challenges. She has experienced significant trauma and is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, will need continued support with leash manners, and is still polishing up her potty training with the occasional accident. Vanna is also crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she has so much potential to continue growing. Vanna is a loyal, loving companion who just needs the right home…one that can give her structure, reassurance, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will stick by your side through it all, Vanna may be your perfect match! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Meet Charles – Your Loyal, Cuddly Companion 🐾 Say hello to Charles, a 7-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul that’s loyal and affectionate. This sweet boy is looking for a quiet, stable home where he can be someone’s whole world — and promises to return that love tenfold.  Charles is the ultimate cuddle buddy. He loves nothing more than lounging by your side, enjoying a toy, and soaking up the company of his favorite human. His gentle, mellow nature makes him the perfect companion for someone who appreciates the quiet joy of a calm and loving dog. While Charles is a big softie at heart, he does have some preferences. He can be reactive to other dogs and small children, so he’s looking for a home where he can be the "only child" — ideally with a single person or a couple. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend to share your life with — someone to greet you at the door, curl up at your feet, and bring comfort and companionship — Charles just might be your perfect match. Charles is ready to meet his forever person. Could it be you? If you are interested, please call Shannon from Hannah Pet Hospital at 971-606-4006.

Story
Looking for a dog for all seasons, a dog of many talents, jack of all trades, adventure by day - cuddle buddy by night type of pal? We'll you're in luck because Dobbie Boy is everything you could want in a companion and more. He's affectionate, loves to learn, dog friendly, loves people, is an affectionate guy, and an all around good boy. He's a master of all, paw-some at everything, hence why we added the "ultimate paw-some buddy" to his name because he really is an awesome dog that can do it all. He is currently fostered in Houston but we transport to many different areas. Locations are listed below Watch his video and you'll be wanting to take him home: https://youtu.be/h4vdQwWJVX4?si=NIuPFo9-5XkTRk2W Dobbie is believed to be a lab/GSD mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 44 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Dobbie is dog friendly and is very small dog friendly too! He is actually currently fostered with 3 small chihuahua's under 10 lbs and does fantastic with them. He does want to play with them and he his foster mom says that her little chi's are not the most playful with bigger dogs and can be a little spicy with bigger dogs and Dobbie is not phased at all. He shares affection, treats (even steak) around other dogs with no issues. He is also fostered with 2 large breed dogs and does great with them as well. Dobbie is a playful guy with other dogs and he loves to romp around the yard with them, play chase, and engage in those rumble and tumble wrestling matches. In a home, he would be best placed with a dog that enjoys roughhousing and doesn't mind letting Dobbie know if they need a play break or if the play gets a little too rough. Dobbie listens to corrections very well with other dogs and sometimes needs a little reminder here and there. He's just a young playful guy that likes to have a good time. After a good play session, he loves to hangout in the yard and explore with other dogs. Dobbie would also do best in a kitty free home. Dobbie will happily be your partner in crime. He has an adventurous side to him and loves to explore new places, enjoys walking through trails, smelling all the new smells and just enjoying the great outdoors. Dobbie's leash skills are impressive as well. He hardly ever pulls and only pulls occasionally when he wants to go say hello to a new human friend or doggie friend. It doesn’t take much to correct him either, a simple leash correction and check in with his handler is all it takes. His foster mom even says that he already has a great recall and she loves teaching him new things. Dobbie is super smart and wants to please his people! He is able to pick up a new trick within minutes. His willingness to learn and eagerness to please means that any additional training you want to do with him with be easy and fun for you both. Dobbie would actually love it if his people like teaching their dog tricks because he really does love to learn and make you happy. He is already crate trained, potty trained, and has been known to stay in his crate for up to 5 hours with no issues. His foster mom is able to come home and give him potty breaks through out the day on occasion depending on the day and she says he is also so happy to see her. He is not destructive, has great house manners, can entertain himself and isn’t always getting into things he’s not supposed to. Dobbie loves toys and will happily lounge on the couch nibbling on a stuffy or tossing it in the air playing by himself. If you watched his video you saw just how great he is about entertaining himself while you're watching a movie or even working out. He hangs out at the gym everyday while his foster mom works out and she says he is the best workout partner. Overall, Dobbie has a perfectly balanced energy about him and would do best in a semi active home with a backyard. His foster says he’s the perfect mix of playful and calm. He is the best of both worlds and a dog that can do it all. When he’s not out on adventures with you, playing in the backyard for a game of fetch, learning new tricks, or enjoying playtime with other dogs, he’s a chill guy snuggling with you on the couch or relaxing on his bed. We also believe that Dobbie has the potential of being a great family dog as well. He has been around kids as young as 10 years old and loves them! He likes the fact that they can play with him and also shower him with affection. Just imagine Dobbie in the backyard with your kids all playing soccer together. Those are some core memories right there that your kids will cherish forever. We are willing to test Dobbie Boy with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
