Story
Get a load of Gohan! This gentleman was surrendered to the shelter due to health issues with the previous owner. Gohan can be anxious in novel situations, and asks that any children in the home be 3 and older. He has previously lived with kids, and is reported to be affectionate and protective, as well as a rough player. He has had some crate training and is housebroken aside from some instances of separation anxiety. He is open to possibly living with other dogs as well as dog-savvy cats (he may give chase) with proper introduction. Gohan has a lot of love to share and will be a fantastic friend for anyone!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 12/30/25 Still available! 11/14/25 Roxy, 18 to 24 months old, 50 lbs, vetted, spayed, monthly flea prevention and 12 month heartworm prevention. We do not know her breed, she is likely very mixed. This site makes us pick a breed, so we went with Kelpie mix bc that’s what my phone guessed she was! Roxy is a work in progress. She was found living in the woods, emaciated and covered in fleas and ticks. For the first few weeks, she was completely withdrawn. She had no interest in playing and didn't speak or bark. Roxy loves to play now and talks alot( I don't always know what she is saying, but I always answer her). Learning to leash walks and potty training are works in progress. Her past has caused food aggression ( she eats in her crate) and mild separation anxiety ( after a couple of hours in her crate, she wants out to be with people). Roxy's ideal home is a large yard for her to run and a patient devoted parent dedicated to helping her overcome her past and live a happy life. Roxy is located in Arkansas and can be adopted locally, or she can transport to the New England area if adopted there. If adopted in New England, her adopter will need to pick her up (or arrange for a trusted friend/family to pick him up) on a Saturday in PA, NY, or CT. Residents of other states may adopt as well, as long as they can meet our transporter along their route. To apply to adopt, click the link. https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 For questions or more info, email apps.aasr@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
