Story
Caesar is a big baby, he loves attention and is extremely smart. He knows basic commands. Due to a job change I do not have much time for him and he is high energy. He can be reactive when I get him out but he has responded well to a training collar. He is fine with the 5 lb Yorkie poo that is in the home. He is good with kids but he does like to jump up and he is bigger than my kids so sometimes he knocks them down. He deserves a good home that can give him the attention he needs. He is scheduled to be neutered in May and will get his rabies vaccine. Unknown vaccine history other than that

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE 3/5/2024:  Buddy is having some issues being 'stiff' but as long as you don't have stairs he does great.  He does guard his toys but if you do a trade with a snack he will give them up :)  Looking for a GS experienced ownerUPDATE:  Buddy is looking fantastic!!  He is a little 'stiff' in his old age but I told him its OK so am I!  He LOVES attention, he likes his toys and he is great with the dogs although I think he would be just as happy as an only dog he does fine with all the dogs here at the ranch :)I can only imagine how Buddy must have felt...  Like no one cared, defeated, ready to give up, a banquet for fleas and tics :(  It took us quite a while to get him back to health and still he deals with ear infections from repeated ones not being treated :(  No worries now big man you are loved and valued!Buddy you have your 2nd Chance and we are going to give you an amazing life!!REQUIRES FENCED YARD!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 19, 2024, 10:39 am

Story
This remarkable dog was discovered abandoned in a rural area where he had endured exposure to the rain for an indeterminate period. Concerned passersby initially suspected he was injured, but upon my arrival, he eagerly hopped into my car and indulged in an entire box of treats. He's proven to be the most entertaining, affectionate, and intelligent companion I've ever encountered. His teeth bear the marks of neglect rather than age-related wear, and we estimate his age to be around 4-5 years. He adores car rides, and walks, and remains a loyal, dependable companion who never strays far. He is fully house-trained, adept at using a pet door, and gets along famously with other dogs. One of his ears has a distinctive appearance due to a past illness or injury that went untreated, but our vet has addressed it, and it appears to be in good condition now, although it will retain its unique appearance. If you're interested in welcoming Knuckles or any of our Funny Farm friends into your home, please visit funnyfarmpets.org to learn more about our Tennessee-based rescue, the adoption process, the comprehensive vetting procedures these pets undergo before they come to your home, and to submit an adoption application. The adoption fee for this pet is $325, and an additional $200 is required for transport. Currently located in a foster home in Tennessee, this pet will be transported to a northern location after the adoption process is finalized. For details on meeting locations and the transport process, please visit the transport tab at funnyfarmpets.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rosie (previously Lucy) and her siblings were found in a bin along a country road in Alabama with their tails tied.  Mostly likely, the owner was trying to dock them from home :(  Unfortunately, we do believe that they have permanent damage to their tails, however, it does not bother them! They joined our rescue on February 11th and are now in search of their new forever homes!Rosie is such a sweet girl who is very sociable with people and enjoys the company of other dogs in her foster home.  She is now 25 lbs and is probably going to be a medium to large dog.  She does not, however, have a thick build like her brothers do. There is a lot of german shepherd in her and if she is a mix, there isn't much other breed in her.  Rosie has been with us for almost 2 months and she has really made progress on her training!  She is crate trained and is only crated when no one is home.  At night time, she sleeps with her foster mom.  Rosie is also house trained and will go to the door when he has to go out.  She walks great on a leash and enjoys her trips to the bus stop every morning and afternoon to meet the daughter.  Also, she rides great in a car!Rosie's foster family has a young daughter and she is used to being around children.  She loves to lounge on the couch with her best furry friend, Daisy.  Her foster mom said she is not snuggly with her humans, but enjoys laying with the dogs.   Rosie is up to date on distemper/parvo and rabies vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  The adoption fee is $450.If you are interested in Rosie, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilson@comcast.net.Thank you for your interest in a rescue pup!PA Dog License #4709 (Cumberland County)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 14, 2024, 7:33 am
