Story
Three-year old Justice is an extremely loving and loyal pup, who is hungry for love and longing for an adopter to bond with. Justice is extremely smart and soulful. He is very obedient and eager to please. He is great with commands. He is also very intelligent and very low maintenance. He prefers laying at your feet or sitting with you more than anything. When he’s active, Justice loves playing fetch, his favorite game! A fully fenced yard will be a great inclusion in his life. Justice is good with both dogs and cats. Actually, he has had many dog and cat foster siblings and has always gotten along with all of them. We do not know how he is with kids as he has never lived with children. But he is big, so he can knock them down. Therefore we prefer a home without young kids. Justice weighs 75 lbs, and is fully vaccinated for 3 years, neutered, and microchipped. Justice has completed 6 months of board and train, and his trainer will offer complimentary training for life now, either in person or by facetime or video chat. He is a great pup, full of love. He is comfortable around people, and loves car rides. He needs a strong parent who he can look up to, and he will be the best child forever. Donner is extremely loyal, sensitive, crate trained and housebroken. He loves to play fetch and will love a home with a fully fenced yard, where he gets playtime with his foster or furever parents. Donner is fully vaccinated, neutered, chipped and heartworm negative. He is 80 lb. He has not lived around cats but he is fine with dogs and plays well with them. Story
10 months old Iris is a sweet and shy girl. She is social with dogs of any size but takes her time to approach new people. Iris loves retrieving balls and likes to run around in the backyard with her sister Ines and her other foster siblings. Iris likes meeting new dogs, but can be shy with some dogs who are too energetic with her. She likes friendly dogs who aren’t in your face. She is Good with children. Her foster mom brings her granddaughters age 3 and 6 to her home every day. Iris hasn’t been cat-tested and doesn’t live with any cats but she doesn’t run after the outdoor cats that live in her neighborhood. Iris is potty-trained. Her foster mom doesn’t like to crate but Iris has traveled in crates to the vet and to the park and she doesn’t complain about this. Iris is on the chill side. Her foster mom walks once every couple of days. Iris releases her energy by doing zoomies in the backyard with her sister Ines and other dog friends. Iris needs more leash-training. She doesn’t pull but isn’t used at the leash yet. She knows “sit” in Spanish but would benefit from learning more commands such as “give paws”, “stay”, “come.” She is a very cuddly dog but would benefit from socialization with new dogs and people. Iris currently weighs about 42 Lbs and will grow up to become a medium sized dog. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, chipped, and heartworm negative. She is kept on preventatives. She can travel to many states and Canada for the right home. Iris would be happy in a home where she can have a doggie sibling (boy or girl) because she is used to hanging out with more than 4 dogs at the same time. She would do well with young children who are gentle with her and who can get her stimulated by playing ball with her. She is very intelligent and would do great with a family that can get her out on car rides or on hikes to parks and/or beaches. Rescue story: Iris was found living with her family (her sister Ines, brother Andy, and mom April) at 4 months of age under an abandoned house. Sadly, the neighbors in this area mistreated dogs. Iris wasn’t welcome there and had to hide under that house and could only come out at night. Fortunately, her foster mom spotted this little family and got them safe. Her brother Andy passed away 2 days after he arrived to the foster home because he was severely malnourished. Iris, her mom, and sister Ines were also very skinny but were able to gain strength thanks to their foster mom. In a few months, Iris was able to grow into a beautiful and curious dog. To adopt Iris, please send an application via savesomesouls.com Yards must be fully fenced to adopt our pups.

Story
Ines is a 10 months old shepherd mix puppy. She is very sweet and can be shy at times. She loves hanging out with dogs of all sizes but she takes her time with new people. Ines is the confident sister (compared to Iris, her sibling). Ines spends a lot of time running after balls in the backyard with her sister Iris and her other foster siblings. Ines likes meeting new dogs. She prefers observing the dog from far for a few minutes before introducing herself to the new pack. Ines is good with children. Her foster mom brings her granddaughters age 3 and 6 to her home every day. Ines hasn’t been cat-tested and doesn’t live with any cats but she doesn’t run after the outdoor cats that live in her neighborhood. Ines is potty-trained. Her foster mom doesn’t like to crate but Ines has traveled in crates to the vet and to the park and she doesn’t complain about this. Ines is medium energy dog. In the house, she tends to lay on her bed near her sister Iris. Her foster mom walks her once every couple of days. Ines needs more leash-training. She knows “sit” in Spanish but could learn more commands such as “give paws”, “stay”, “come.” She has a good memory and is food-driven so it should be easy to get her new puppy-skills. Ines can be shy with new people. She needs to get more socialization time with humans. Ines would do well with a family that already has other friendly dogs. Since she lives with small children, she should be ok with kids age 6 and above. The best family for her would be one that can give her lots of cuddles and structure. Because she is very intelligent, she needs to be in an environment where she can be stimulated (through daily walks, learning commands, being in puppy-school, going on camping trips, etc). Ines currently weighs 42 Lbs and will grow up to become a medium sized dog. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, chipped, and heartworm negative. She is kept on preventatives. She can travel to many states and Canada for the right home. Rescue story: Ines was found living with her family (her sister Iris, brother Andy, and mom April) at 4 months of age under an abandoned house. Sadly, the neighbors in this area mistreat dogs. Story
2 yr old Rocky is an intelligent and docile boy. He is a gentle giant. He is a happy-go-lucky boy who learns commands fast. He came from a home with many dogs and has never had any issue with them. In his current home, he has been kept separated from his foster brother who is reactive to other dogs, but he sees them through the gate and never once barks. Rocky is little timid in new situations. He loves car rides. He is excellent with children. He loves for the neighborhood kids to pet him. He is so polite and never jumps on anyone. Rocky is potty-trained and crate trained, although he is rarely crated, since he is very perfect outside a crate. During the freeze, he was patient about going out, and never once demanded to be taken out. He is a really sweet and tolerant pup. Rocky likes to run around in the backyard but once he is inside the house, he loves to lay on his foster parents’ bed or on the couch to feel closed to his humans. His foster dad says that he is the perfect dog. Rocky is 80 lb, neutered, is microchipped and is on heartworm and flea prevention. He can travel to most states and Canada for the right home. A fully fenced yard is mandatory for our dogs. Rocky is a flexible dog and lives to make his human happy. Rescue story: Rocky's owners always used to leave him outside and he would come up to the neighbor's home. Finally they moved and did not take Rocky with them. His neighbor took him in and is fostering him.

Story
Introducing Luna (named by the Kindness Krew from River Oaks Elementary School): Luna's journey to finding a loving home hasn't been easy, but her resilience and sweet nature shine through despite the challenges she's faced. Originally discovered as a stray by Harris County animal control, Luna's gentle demeanor captured the hearts of those who crossed her path. When we first laid eyes on Luna at the shelter, it was evident that she carried a sense of sadness with her, yet her spirit remained unwaveringly sweet and calm. Despite not being able to leave immediately, we couldn't forget her and knew we had to extend a helping hand. As fate would have it, no one came forward to claim Luna, and she found herself on the euthanasia list. But we couldn't let her story end there. With determination and compassion, we made the decision to bring Luna into our care. Since that fateful day, Luna has blossomed into the epitome of love and companionship. Her affable nature extends not only to other dogs but also to children, making her a perfect fit for any family seeking a loyal and affectionate companion. Luna's unique appearance—a blend of shepherd with hints of Pyrenees—adds to her charm. Her pristine white coat is accentuated by a delightful patch of light brown/reddish fur over her lower back, a distinguishing feature that sets her apart. At around 70 pounds and likely around 6 years old, Luna embodies the perfect balance of maturity and playfulness. With her endearing personality and unwavering loyalty, Luna is more than deserving of a second chance at a forever home. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Luna, you'll be rewarded with a lifetime of love, companionship, and gratitude. Consider welcoming Luna into your life and giving her the loving home she so rightfully deserves.April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

This cool guy just caught our eye as we were at the shelter to meet some other dogs. As you can see he has a very striking appearance and is also a really friendly boy who gets along with other dogs. Stufur was picked up as a stray and just had the bad luck to end up at the shelter and no one ever came for him.   He is a young boy, about a year or so old, and is smart and trainable and eager to please. He is only about 45 pounds or so, but he has a slim frame and is about the size of a lab, just skinnier.    He has such a bright personality and loves loves to give you hugs. Stufur would love nothing more than a family to love him and    April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Bio:  Hi!  My name is Delgado!  I walk very nicely on the leash and I also have learned a lot about being a member of a pack of GSDs, since joining as a foster dog!  I like other GSDs, however smaller animals such as squirrels I find are quite a bunch of fun to chase!  I have a good appetite, meal on time is very important to me!  I love play time and when you give me pets, I also will lean into you and hug my human back!  I really want to know what's going on around the house, so it's best that I can be near you.  At night I'll sleep well in my crate...  as long as I can sleep in your room, then I know I'm not missing out on anything!  I love car or truck rides, I could be an only GSD or have a sister woofer would be great too!  I am very high energy, so if you like to go for daily walks or play times in the back yard, I'm all about that!  I will bark if someone gets close to the fence - they just need to know that I watch out for my yard and home.  I want to be the best GSD I can be, just need my humans to keep me part of their day's plans!  Woof!! ##1884925##

Story
Hi! I'm Britta and I am a stunning adult German Shepherd with a heart of gold. I am gentle and have a loving demeanor, making me the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal furry friend. I have a special talent for getting along well with big dogs, and small dogs, granted it did took me a while for me not to chase the cats but with training and treats I stopped chasing them. But for new cats I will need to be trained. One of mine favorite pastimes is snuggling in my foster parent's bed, where I feel safe and secure. I love nothing more than to curling up next to humans and soaking up all the love and attention I can get. I am also crate trained where I take naps and can sleeps all night. At time I do bark because I don't want to be left behind but my foster parents alway make sure I have my chew treats to keep me busy in the crate and help me simmer down.I also enjoy going on walks, exploring new surroundings, and getting some exercise. My foster parents are teaching me not to pull too much on the leash, so I can enjoy my outings even more. At times I do go out to lunch (patio friendly restaurant) with the foster humans and I get a lot of compliments on my behavior and beauty! In addition to being an affectionate and sociable dog, I am also a bit of a fashionista. I loves dressing up in cute outfits and accessories, showing off my unique sense of style wherever I goes. With my striking looks and charming personality, I, Britta, am sure to steal the hearts of everyone she meets.Overall, I am a wonderful canine companion who brings joy and happiness wherever I go. Whether lounging at home or out on an adventure, I am a sweet German Shepherd girl that will always be by your side, ready to shower you with kisses and affection. ##1915465##

Story
Candy and her pups were taken in by GHGSDR during Valentines’ Day and now she's ready for her forever home. She is on the smaller side but has lots of love to give you! She does take a little time to warm up to strangers and other dogs but once she's comfortable, she is super friendly. She likes to follow you around and see what you’re doing. Loud sounds do scare her a little so please speak kindly.  Candy is a two year old German Shepherd. She knows basic commands like sit, stay, wait. We’re working on her chomping - asking her to grab treats “gently” from our hands so we can keep all our fingers. She does pull on the leash a little at the beginning of our walks but does relax as we go. She is crate trained, she goes in easily. She loves to just stick next to you. She likes to curl up underneath our desks while we work. She likes playing with toys, especially squeaky toys. We also sometimes get cats in and around our home and she is curious but doesn’t really react and gives them their space. Candy is ready for her second chance, so won’t you give her a chance? ##1972607##
