Story
If love an independent natured dog, Pearl is your girl! This a low-maintenance girl who doesn’t want to be your shadow but will make you feel loved just the same. Not being the attention seeking type doesn’t mean she lacks charm though- from her looks to her easy-company, she has plenty of charm for someone who appreciates her low-key style. You were surely drawn in by her eyes, one sparkles blue and one is warm brown. She is really striking and stands proud which makes her a gorgeous scene. Plus, she has the cutest fluffy tail. In the same way people can be described as introverts and extroverts, it is very similar for dogs. If we were going to define her as one or the other, Pearl is an introvert. A self-confident introvert with great social skills who prefers to take things slow basically. With dogs, she enjoys a good romp. Her foster has shared that the dog she enjoys most is an especially big male who enjoys playing rough-and-tumble but takes breaks and is just as happy to wander around with her in the yard. Pearls ideal home would include a yard and I would even call her a yard explorer, she loves nothing more than just putzing around the yard checking out the garden, watching the birds, and occasionally making a bid for someone to play with her. She knows how to keep the peace but has motherly energy in larger groups of dogs, almost like she is sets the tone of keeping it light-hearted. No cats for Pearl though, she has the idea that cats don’t like her so she decided the feeling is mutual. She would definitely try to chase a cat if the occasion arises and cats sure do hate that. Pearl is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 64 lbs. She is in the phase of life where dogs settle into themselves which is overall marked with the easy-days. She is crate-trained, loves car rides, and is equally motivated by treats and a good “attagirl” amount of praise. Pearl will likely give her new family a touch of her introverted personality as she warms up to a new home but a little patience is all it takes for her. Before you know it that quirky personality of hers will start to shine. We would love to see Pearl in a home with a yard given how much she loves her outside time. She has basic leash skills but walks on leash are not her love language like some dogs. That independent confident nature of hers will be satisfied with the occasional zoomies and solo “adventures” in the yard. If you like your girls independent, the type that will happily spend their life with you without smothering you, and will come when you call, Pearl is your perfect match. If Pearl sound like your kind of companion, apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/64fe4d945b1d5552210f3db4 Questions? Story
Sherman is here to be considered for the role of your best friend/family guy. He just wants to be part of the crew, whatever his title is, but if your crew includes kids he is already halfway in love. This lucky boy is currently living in a foster home with two other large dogs and two kids (ages 7 and 16), and he’s absolutely thriving and loves being part of the fun and the love. Take a look at him in action then come back to read more! https://youtu.be/aZb-eUy8xbE Sherman has a gentle, goofy personality that you can just see in his sweet face. His foster mama says she thinks he shines the brightest when he’s playing with the kids. He loves playing a version of hide-and-seek where the kids run, and try to hide before he catches them and then they hide around the house while he tracks them down. The truth is he is pretty fast and has a good nose so he usually catches at least one of them before they even make it to their hiding spot. Estimated to be 6-7 months old, Sherman is the dog equivalent of a kid so it is no wonder they have so much fun together. Chase, tug-of-war, or playing with the flirt pole, he is in his element and you can see the interactive, silly, and connection-driven joy he is made of. The kids have even helped with his training, and he listens to them well, taking treats gently like the good boy he is. Funny little detail on his name, breed and age are not details we can guarantee given he is a rescue but his foster family named him Sherman the German because we suspect (and he resembles) a German shepherd. Thanks to his foster family, Sherman comes pre-packaged with a wonderful set of good-boy skills. He is both house and crate trained, has great basic leash skills and is well socialized with other dogs. When on walks he will still get a little loosy-goosy, zig zagging on the sidewalk trying to soak up all the smells and sights but he buttons it up nicely once reminded that your on a walk. He is eager to please, loves to be with his people, and is already on track with structured training sessions, so any additional training or experience you want to enjoy together will be like cherry on top. Keep in mind, you may need a line item in your budget just for toys and enrichment puzzles. He is a toy lover and beats off rainy day boredom with enrichment puzzles. Don’t tell him I told you but he dreams about being a Bark Box boy. How cute is he!? Sherman’s social with other dogs and prefers calm, respectful interactions. He’s not a play-all-day type—he keeps things mellow and will happily hang back if things are looking a little too wild. A friendly, balanced dog in the home would be a great companion, but he’d also do fine as a solo dog with regular social outings and exercise. Sherman is also a great candidate for a multi-pet home and could live with kitties. He regularly passes kitties on his walk and doesn’t pay them much mind at all. When he was introduced to our house cat he was so sweet! He was polite and showed a playful but respectful approach. Sherman’s ideal home includes a yard to run and play in, a family with kids or teens who’ll enjoy interacting with him, other friendly dogs (optional, but a good fit), and with someone who wants a dog with heart, personality, and a great foundation. He does inhale his food so he will need to eat with a slow feeder and have a pet parent who can help with his love of food and snacks . Sherman is affectionate, smart, playful, and incredibly lovable. This boy is going to make someone very, very lucky with all the joy he brings. Is that going to be you? Story
This is Lucy, and she’s officially entered her cozy era. At an estimated 5 years old and 46 lbs, this relaxed, soulful girl is all about the simple pleasures—soft beds, slow mornings, and sweet-talk kind of love. If you’re looking for a low-key, loyal companion who’s content to spend the day lounging nearby and asking for the occasional belly rub, Lucy is your girl. She’s currently living in a foster home with two other dogs and a cat. While she coexists peacefully with everyone, it’s clear she would be happiest as the solo dog in her forever home. Lucy is polite with other dogs, but at this stage in her life, she’s decided she doesn’t need the company. She’s not looking for dog park days or rowdy wrestle buddies—just calm, gentle people and maybe a feline friend. Her approach to cats? Pure class. When introduced to the house cat, Lucy barely lifted her head from her nap. When he came closer, she gave a gentle sniff and went right back to sleep. She’s earned her title as an unbothered queen. Lucy has excellent house manners. She’s completely potty trained, crate trained, and doesn’t bark—not even when the mail carrier comes by. She’s also great with handling: ears, paws, mouth—no problem. She’s even made bath time easy on her foster, happily standing still for her spa day. And she is eager to please and will happily work for treats. One thing to know about Lucy is that she’s still building her confidence. While she seeks affection and will gently nudge your hand for more, she can be a little cautious in new environments. She continues to come out of her shell and her foster shared that Lucy recently had her very first zoomie—tail tucked, ears flopping, big smile kind of joy! With time, patience, and consistency, Lucy will show you just how special she really is. Lucy is easy on leash and doesn’t react to dogs in passing. She can go for short walks and would be just as happy snoozing at your feet while you read or work. She’s the ideal match for a quieter home, one without young kids (let's be honest the words kids & quiet house is a rarity) where her mellow energy will fit right in. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Meet Lovie! she is currently 6 weeks old, 5 pounds, and we think shemay be a german shepherd/ husky mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Lovie's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3NEVk_oPlM Lovie is currently in a loving foster home and loves to play and take lots of naps! Eat, sleep, play, repeat. she is living her best puppy life right now - all she needs is YOU! Lovie lives up to her name—she’s a total sweetheart who gives kisses freely and adores human attention. She’s happiest curled up beside you after a fun round of play. With her affectionate spirit, she’ll bring warmth and joy to any home. Lovie is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Lovie's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!
