Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I’m Mighty Mike, but my humans call me Mikey! I’m a very sweet and affectionate 3 year old shepherd mix. Here are some of the best things about me: - I’m the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. If there’s a lap to be sat on I want to sit in it! I just love snuggling up to my humans. - I love going on walks and going for drives (I’m great in the car!). I also love pup cups, treats, taking naps, and chewing on bones! - I’m fully crate and potty trained, plus I know basic commands, but I would love to work on some training to learn even more. I’m a bit of a jumping jelly bean but we’re working on that! - I’m eager to please and pick up on training really quickly -  I do great with other dogs as long as they’re not too rambunctious. I like to play some, but mostly just want to do my own thing. I'd love to go to a loving family who will include me in their activities. I love all humans that I meet and do really well around kids, but sometimes I can get overly excited, so a home with kids over 8 years old would be best for me. And no kitties for me, please! Want to be my best buddy? Fill out an adoption application at:  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication  - you won’t regret it! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  AHi new friends, my name is Harley the Good and I’m a 60lb sweet and loving 6.5 year old lady looking for my forever family. I have already had a couple of families. And here’s the thing – the past is the past. But, while I’m a firm believer that it’s important not to dwell on what may have happened in another life, sometimes it’s good to know where someone is coming from. I was not treated very well by my last family. I was kenneled for very long periods of time. I was punished. I was exposed to some meaner dogs and I was not shown much love. I wasn’t taken anywhere, so my socialization is lacking. I don’t like to talk about these things. I’m just so ready to move on! I want my own “happily ever after!” So here’s where I’m at today. I have learned that the crate doesn’t have to be associated with bad things. I sleep in there at night without a peep. I also stay in there when foster mom has to leave me for work. I bark a little bit at first, but I settle very quickly. This crate is nice! It’s big enough, there’s a bed and a bone…I don’t mind it. I also eat in my crate. This is because I have an urge to protect my food. I was underweight when I came to my foster mama, so it seemed important not to let anyone close to my kibble. I know the doggie door and I know to potty outside. There have been a few times when I was loose in the whole house and needed to potty and couldn’t find my way out so had an accident inside, but now foster mom gates off the bigger portion of the house and I’m in the great room area and I never forget to go out to potty! I have some fear of other dogs. I am currently living with 3 nice, calm dogs and we do just fine together. I actually even asked to play after knowing them for a few days! But there’s a chance I will still get scared at some point. Calmer pups and a family who understands structure and how to watch energy will work great for me, if I’m going to have doggie siblings. I would, of course, also be super happy as an only dog! I attach very quickly to my person, and I love them HARD! I am so loyal and so ready to be your best friend! I have told foster moms other dogs to leave us alone when we are snuggling a few times…I guess that’s a no-no, so I’m trying to do better about it. As far as we know, I have never been around kids before so we are requesting kids 10 yrs and older for me. Because I didn’t really go anywhere in my previous life, I am a bit nervous in the car and I am pretty terrible on leash. Foster mom is taking me to classes at Kudos to Canines (where I’m doing great!) and I’m getting better all the time, but I will need some positive car trips and some leash training. I am a smart girl, I know “sit” and “leave it” and I am so eager to please! I just need a mama who will call me her good girl and pet me and give me treats. I promise to love you so much! Story
Clancey is a 1 year old good boy. He likes to play with other dogs and wade in the water. He is very sweet, he adores attention and pets. Clancey has been Neutered and is current on vaccinations. He walks well on a leash, he is good with kids and other dogs. We have not seen him with cats but don't foresee him having a problem with them. We have noticed that sometimes new things intimidate him, but he is learning everyday! Clancey can to us quite chonky but has slendered down some. He is currently 65lbs.If you are interested in Clancey, you can come meet him anytime during our business hours (no appointment needed!) Clancey's adoption fee has been generously sponsored so there is no cost to take him home

Story
Here it is, German Shepherd lovers! The post you've long awaited! Remember the Brady Bunch puppies? Well, mama Mistletoe is finally ready to find her home, too! Mistletoe is a 3-year-old GSD who has had three litters of puppies, the last of which was born at HSU. Although she was an excellent, caring mama, Mistletoe is ready to have a turn at being the puppy now. This gorgeous lady loves learning new things. Although she lived primarily as an outdoor dog in her previous home, she has been enjoying the perks of being an indoor girl in her foster home. Mistletoe appears to be potty and crate trained, has quickly learned nice leash manners, and enjoys car rides. A big part of Mistletoe's heart belongs to the great outdoors, and she enjoys nothing more than going on adventures. She is the perfect hiking buddy, but loves to return home in the evenings to cuddle with her hoomans and chew on her favorite toys. Mistletoe can be a little wary of strangers, but once you've made it into her circle, she'll be your bestie for life! Add Mistletoe to your family and you'll feel like Christmas has come in June! She is currently sitting pretty in her foster home, so interested adopters should reach out to kristi@utahhumane.org to set up a meet and greet.

Story
My favorite things are playing with Jolly Balls, in water and snow, and I LOVE anything that squeaks. I am extremely food and toy motivated, which makes working with me easy and I have learned several commands already. When my foster parents leave me at home I stay in my kennel or doggie area without issue, and I respect barriers like baby gates. I have never destroyed anything in the house, and I alert you when I must go outside. Clearly, I'm smart and I really love to play, but I also love belly rubs and naps throughout the day. I can be a little sensitive at times. When I see dogs on a walk or new people come into my house, I can be a bit reactive. However, with the trust and relationship we will build together this can be managed and reduced over time as I am doing so with my foster parents. I have never met a cat, but when I see them from afar my natural prey drive can kick in. My ideal home would be an active, single pet household with no small children and a fenced yard. I would do best with someone who has GSD experience who can give me the structure, training, and enrichment I need to continue to thrive. Bonus points if you love long walks, hike, jog, and live an active life that we can share together.*Qualifies for Senior-to-senior program*Qualifies for Pets for PatriotsPlease email adoptions@slco.org for more information Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 78 Age: 8yrs 11mths 1wks
