Story
This is Halsey. She suffers from separation anxiety & would do best in a home with a dog or two that are her size or bigger. She would also do well with an owner that WFH. She is very well behaved when she has a human around, but stresses to the extreme if she is solely alone. She knows all the basic commands & a few party tricks. Does well off leash but does not tolerate small dogs barking or growling at her. (She had an incident last year we paid for a behaviorist & really learned what triggers to look for. She is not confident as a lone dog but looks to her owner to guide her through meeting new dogs). She gets compliments on her behavior & obedience in public every time we go out! Truly is such a smart dog & would make a great addition to any family. I am a single woman & have reached my capacity of trying to manage her anxiety with my hospital schedule, she does okay at night alone, but would just bee better off with a family rather than a single person.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*S A L U D E* Hello, I’m Salude and I have been waiting for you! Wanna go for a ride while I tell you a little about myself?   I am a gorgeous 5 year old female German Shepherd mix that just adores people of all kinds. If you can throw a ball for me, I will love you forever! I grew up with kids and am very good with them. I am great in a crate, fully house trained, have wonderful house manners and know many different commands and tricks.  I'm a perfect family dog, just waiting for my family!   I am ok around other dogs, but I love my people so much I want to have them all to myself at home, So living with another dog wouldn’t be the best. I can go for walks and hiking around other dogs just fine, though, so no worries about me being out in public around other pups.    Wanna know some of my favorite things though?  * TOYS!!! *Playing in the pool *Going for car rides   I’m a pretty easy going girl. So if you're looking for a buddy to travel with you and the family that can entertain herself with a couple toys for a while, then I’m your girl.    If you think I could be the lady for you, please apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 5:26 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello, all! I am Azaria–Zari to my friends–a sophisticated 7 year old, 65 pound sable German Shepherd. Don’t let my age worry you! Because I am a grown-up lady, I have already mastered many things! I am house trained. I am crate trained. I walk well on a leash. I am ready to be your companion right now! Because I am a grown-up lady, I know what I like. You want to go on a walk? Delightful! You want to go for a ride in the car? Wonderful! You want to take me on a hike? Fabulous! You want to sit on the couch with me while I nap? Heavenly! You want me to keep you company while you work? Superb! You want to introduce me to human friends of all sorts? Excellent! If you scratch my belly, provide me with squeaky toys, and give me treats, that would make my world complete. As a grown-up I also know what I don’t like. I definitely don’t like to be around other animals, so if you already have a dog or a cat at home, I’m not the sophisticated lady for you. If we see dogs on our walks, I may get a little agitated, but if you redirect my attention and keep me moving, I will leave them to their own business. My foster mom is helping me polish some of my manners. I get very excited when it’s time to go on a walk, and I need to be reminded not to jump when I see my leash and to sit quietly at the door before we leave. I am also practicing sitting when we come to a road so we can be safe on our adventures. I also like to work on my commands like “sit”, “down”, and “leave it” as long as there is a treat involved! If I sound like the perfect lady for you, apply to meet me at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 5:26 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there, future family! I'm a sleek and stunning female black German Shepherd, around 1 year old and tipping the scales at about 70 pounds. But don't let my size intimidate you—I'm a big softie at heart.  Brains? Check. I'm incredibly smart and have already mastered the art of crate training—I'll even tuck myself in when I'm ready for a nap. And speaking of naps, after a brisk 30-minute walk, I'm more than happy to snuggle up for some quality snooze time.   Leash manners? You betcha. I walk like a dream on a leash and just want to be by your side, soaking up all the love and attention you have to give. And when it comes to playtime, count me in! I adore romping around with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a furry sibling to pal around with. I haven't met a yet.    Oh, and did I mention my recall? It's top-notch. Call my name, and I'll come bounding over to say hello with a wagging tail and a big, goofy grin. So, if you're in the market for a loyal and loving companion who's as smart as she is sweet, look no further—I'm right here, ready to join your pack!   Apply to meet me today https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 5:26 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My favorite things are playing with Jolly Balls, in water and snow, and I LOVE anything that squeaks. I am extremely food and toy motivated, which makes working with me easy and I have learned several commands already. When my foster parents leave me at home I stay in my kennel or doggie area without issue, and I respect barriers like baby gates. I have never destroyed anything in the house, and I alert you when I must go outside. Clearly, I'm smart and I really love to play, but I also love belly rubs and naps throughout the day. I can be a little sensitive at times. When I see dogs on a walk or new people come into my house, I can be a bit reactive. However, with the trust and relationship we will build together this can be managed and reduced over time as I am doing so with my foster parents. I have never met a cat, but when I see them from afar my natural prey drive can kick in. My ideal home would be an active, single pet household with no small children and a fenced yard. I would do best with someone who has GSD experience who can give me the structure, training, and enrichment I need to continue to thrive. Bonus points if you love long walks, hike, jog, and live an active life that we can share together.*Qualifies for Senior-to-senior program*Qualifies for Pets for PatriotsPlease email adoptions@slco.org for more information Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 71.9 Age: 8yrs 8mths 1wks
