Story
Hello, I'm Pieta - like the sculpture, I'm a work of art that just needs a little time and care to reveal my true beauty. I'm a 4-year-old German Shepherd and Husky mix with a gentle spirit and soulful eyes that have seen a lot, but I'm learning that not every new thing has to be scary. Right now, I'm a bit of a wallflower - quiet, cautious, and taking the world one sniff at a time - but if you're patient and kind, I promise I'll blossom into your loyal, loving masterpiece. I walk best with calm encouragement and do my bravest work when I know I'm safe. I'm not ready for rowdy play just yet, but I'll gladly share peaceful moments and soft head scratches once I trust you. If you believe love is something that grows slowly and beautifully, then maybe we're the perfect match - you bring the heart, and I'll bring the Pieta.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Red Weight: 59 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Hi, I'm Wednesday-a 4-year-old German Shepherd who's a little reserved right now, but I promise there's a wonderful dog waiting just beneath the surface. I know, I know-my name might make you think of stormy moods and gloomy looks, but really, I'm just waiting for someone to turn my "Wednesday" into a "sunnier day." The shelter has been a bit overwhelming for me, and I can get nervous in new situations, but once I feel safe, I'll start to relax and show you my sweet, loyal side. I'm sensitive, gentle, and quietly affectionate, and I dream of a calm home where I can take my time to trust and learn that people are kind. If you have patience, love, and a soft spot for soulful eyes, I think we could make every day feel like the best day of the week.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Tan Weight: 62.4 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Hi, I'm Alexia! I'm a sweet, easygoing, and playful dog searching for my FURever home. I love playing with Jolly Balls, chasing balls and squirrels, working with a flirt pole, napping, and anything that squeaks. I'm food- and toy-motivated, which makes training fun and easy! I've learned many commands, including sit, lay down, wait, bed, kennel, come, touch, up-up, and shake, and I'm working on place, gentle, leave it, watch me, and drop it. I enjoy structured walks, playtime, belly rubs, scratches, and plenty of naps in my dog bed or kennel. I walk well on a leash, ride calmly in the car, and keep my foster home clean and intact. I can be a little reactive with dogs on walks or new visitors but am improving with training. I'd thrive in an active, loving, single-pet home with a fenced yard and someone experienced with working breeds. Bonus if you love fetch, long walks, and belly rubs! Let's create a lifetime of memories together!*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior program"Please email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 80 Age: 10yrs 3mths 0wks

Story
Hey there, I'm Silas-think of me as a diamond in the "ruff" just waiting for the right person to help me shine. I'm a 4-year-old German Shepherd with a big brain, a big heart, and maybe just a few nerves when meeting new friends. I can be a little bit of a wallflower at first (they say I'm more of a "silas observer" than a social butterfly), but once I trust you, I'll stick by your side like your shadow. I love looking to my person for direction and reassurance-it makes me feel safe and confident. I'm super smart and would do great with someone patient who can help me keep learning and feeling secure. I may not be the life of the party right away, but give me time, and I'll show you that the best things (and the best dogs) are worth waiting for.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 50 Age: 4yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I’m Mighty Mike, but my humans call me Mikey! I’m a very sweet and affectionate almost 5-year-old shepherd mix. Here are some of the best things about me: - I’m the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. If there’s a lap to be sat on I want to sit in it! I just love snuggling up to my humans. - I love going on walks and going for drives (I’m great in the car!). I also love pup cups, treats, taking naps, and chewing on bones! - I’m fully crate and potty trained, plus I know basic commands, but I would love to work on some training to learn even more. I’m a bit of a jumping jelly bean but we’re working on that! - I’m eager to please and pick up on training really quickly -  I do great with other dogs as long as they’re not too rambunctious. I like to play some, but mostly just want to do my own thing. I'd love to go to a loving family who will include me in their activities. I love all humans that I meet and do really well around kids, but sometimes I can get overly excited, so a home with kids over 8 years old would be best for me. And no kitties for me, please! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there! My name is My Tye – I guess my mom had a cocktail too many when she picked my name. But everyone just calls me Tye so that’s ok. I’m a 20-month-old German Shepherd and weigh 75 lbs. I haven’t really been taught anything before I came to my foster home, which is a shame because I’m a typical GSD: intelligent & curious, athletic & high-energy, and thriving when you give me something to do. I’ve learned so much in the few days I’ve been here and am eager to keep going.  I’m house trained and crate trained and sleep all through the night; except, of course, when there are burglars, but luckily, we didn’t have any yet. I fetch balls even when you try to hide them and love to play with my toys. My favorite game is playing tug-of-war. And I have already learned to run through an agility tunnel! I’m still learning to walk on a leash. I love going on car rides and am learning to sit and wait when the door is opened. Once I’m worn out, I love to snuggle and hang out close to you.  I’m good with other large dogs but still a bit of an oaf and need to learn proper behavior around other dogs. I didn’t have interaction with small dogs yet. Same thing with kids: I’m good with the teenager in my home but haven’t met any little kids.  I’m looking for an active family with GSD or high-energy, large dog experience, with a strong commitment to training and socialization so I can become the awesome German Shepherd that is hiding in me. If you think I’m the right companion for you, please apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 2, 2025, 5:08 pm
