Story
Hi, I'm Rolo-a 10-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul that's ready to relax by your side. I may be in my golden years, but I've still got plenty of tail wags, gentle kisses, and warm snuggles to give. I know my basic commands, walk nicely on a leash, and I'm as smart as they come. Treats? Yes, please. I'm a confident, mellow guy who enjoys the simple things-like a cozy couch, a quiet stroll, and just being near my person. If you're looking for a loyal companion to share slow mornings and peaceful evenings, I'm your guy. Let's make the most of these golden years-together.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior-to-Senior programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 93.0625 Age: 10yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Introducing Mari Jane, the sweetest senior pup you could ever hope to meet! At the lovely age of 10, this charming lady has more love to give than a full season of The Golden Girls. Just like Dorothy, she's wise and nurturing, and she'll make you feel cherished every moment you spend together.Mari Jane adores people-much like Blanche adores a good compliment! She lights up at the sight of new friends and is always ready for a cuddle session. This sweet girl loves to roam around the yard, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the fresh air. Picture her strutting her stuff like Sophia at a dinner party, relishing the simple pleasures of life. Gino, one of our dedicated volunteers, can't help but rave about her. He affectionately calls her his personal favorite, and its easy to see why!Mari Jane can be a little reactive with dogs on walks or new visitors but is improving with training. She'd thrive in an active, loving, single-pet home.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior program"Please email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 110 Age: 11yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Hi, I'm Alexia! I'm a sweet, easygoing, and playful dog searching for my FURever home. I love playing with Jolly Balls, chasing balls and squirrels, working with a flirt pole, napping, and anything that squeaks. I'm food- and toy-motivated, which makes training fun and easy! I've learned many commands, including sit, lay down, wait, bed, kennel, come, touch, up-up, and shake, and I'm working on place, gentle, leave it, watch me, and drop it. I enjoy structured walks, playtime, belly rubs, scratches, and plenty of naps in my dog bed or kennel. I walk well on a leash, ride calmly in the car, and keep my foster home clean and intact. I can be a little reactive with dogs on walks or new visitors but am improving with training. I'd thrive in an active, loving, single-pet home with a fenced yard and someone experienced with working breeds. Bonus if you love fetch, long walks, and belly rubs! Let's create a lifetime of memories together!*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior program"Please email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 80 Age: 9yrs 10mths 0wks

Story
Sahara is our two year old, feral German Shepherd mama who came to us two months ago from Palmdale desert in California. A friend reached out to us saying she was found in the desert and being cared for by a kind samaritan but needed a rescue to step in and help, so we said yes! She gave birth to 10 adorable puppies out there. The past two months with Sahara have shown us a lot more of who she is and what she is capable of. She is trusting of humans that respect her space and boundaries, she is great with other dogs (male and female), and she is learning basic skills like leash pressure and crate training. She would make a wonderful addition to a family that is patient and experienced with feral pups or willing to work with our trainer to help her progress in a home environment.

Story
Meet this sensitive girl whose heart is bigger than her adorable ears. She is estimated to be a 2 year old German Shepherd Dog. She LOVES to play (and play and play). She's an affectionate goofball with endless enthusiasm who deserves to live her greatest adventure yet. Roxy can be shy/fearful with new people. She is very friendly when people give her the time and space to go at HER pace to get comfortable. When someone imposes themselves on her quicker than what she feels safe with, she may fearfully react. Roxy's foster parents will work with her new family to have a smooth, low-stress, incremental transition for her so that everyone is set up for success. In order to be considered as the future protector of her heart, below are the must-haves: -A fenced-in yard with plenty of open space -An active home with at least 1 other active dog to help her burn energy and save both your and her sanity -Someone home most of the day -A 'controlled' environment that does not have 'strangers' going in and out. See more about Roxy here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_m4RvCK0JoDogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Roxy's adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Roxy, or another CAWS animal, please fill out an application here: http://caws.org/adoption-application.
