Story
The adoption fee listed above is completely sponsored by a generous donor, so her adoption fee is waived! Sasha is as sweet as they come. This beautiful, well-mannered 4-year-old girl has worked so hard with her trainer and has become an absolute leash-walking champ! She’s fully muzzle-conditioned and happy to wear it! Sasha has never shown any people aggression, but she does have a strong prey drive—so she’ll need to wear her muzzle anytime she’s outside for the safety of our small dog friends and any other small critters in your neighborhood. We’d love to see her future home have a tall privacy fence where she can safely enjoy regular off-leash time without her muzzle. She’s affectionate, loyal, and loves being close to her people—whether it’s relaxing after a long day or joining you on adventures. Sasha does well with other dogs with slow introductions. This sweet girl is gentle with her toys, easy to bathe, and full of love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal, well-trained companion who’s ready for her next chapter, Sasha is your girl! 📹 See her in action: 🔗 Watch Sasha’s playlist All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Story
Meet Misty! She's a smart lady who is smart as a whip! She's crate trained, mastered many commands (sit, down, off, mat, enough, go to your room, here, all done- more than most kids :). She loves to run, play fetch and be wherever you are! She's a year and a half old, and was lucky enough to have professional training donated to help her find her forever home. Whoever adopts her will receive at least one free hand off session from her trainer to help her transition go perfectly! Her ideal family would be somewhat active (she needs to run around a yard at least a few times per day). She gets along well with other dogs, but calmer dogs are best. Misty loves to play, but she can get very excited if the other dog is too energetic! She would do well with older children. Younger children and cats would require a lot of supervision. Her trainer thinks she would be a great agility dog, but she is smart enough to do anything you want to train her to do! She will require some active parenting to teach her the rules of your house, because she is so smart, she may try to make her own activities if nothing fun is provided! She's potty trained now (we had some overnight accidents until she started going in her crate at night). She's a great dog with a good head on her shoulders, and she wants to know if you are the one for her! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
Welcome Cheeto. He is a 8- month old Great Dane mix. He is 83 pounds right now and may be 100 pounds full grown. Cheeto is a great dog. He knows sit and shake a paw. He is decent on a leash. He loves treats and will sit when asked to with a treat. He loves the lady kennel workers. He is timid which is common in this breed but he is very friendly and affectionate. He would be great with someone that knows and understands this wonderful breed. He was found on the streets of Texas and was taken in by a good Samaritan. He can go with children. We like them to 8 or older. He would love to be a companion for the right family. He will love being a house dog and he is energetic but not for too much time and he settles down nicely. If you have a fenced back yard, he can get enough exercise exploring it. He could also go on walks. He does pull some but he really wants to do what you are asking so consistency with him will work wonders. He is currently neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Introducing Copper! Affectionate Gentle Playful Initially Shy Personality: Copper is a sweet Dane who may be shy at first, but once he feels safe, his affectionate and silly nature begins to shine. He’s calm, kind, and loves being included in the daily routine. A creature of habit, he thrives in consistency and finds comfort in knowing what to expect. Socialness: Copper gets along well with everyone in his foster home. He’s submissive with other dogs and respectful of their space, often waiting for them to initiate interaction. He hasn’t been around cats, so slow and structured introductions will be needed. He responds well to slow, structured introductions with new people. Due to some resource guarding around toys (which his foster has diligently been working on), older children or those with experience around large dogs would be best. Likes & Dislikes: Loves zoomies and playing with other dogs Enjoys toys, snuggling, and car rides Dislikes raised voices and nail trims Training: Copper is crate trained, housebroken, and does not destroy bedding or toys. He can comfortably be left alone during a typical 8-hour workday. He knows the commands sit, come, down, shake, and leave it. He is leash trained, incredibly smart, eager to please, and responds very well to positive reinforcement. Health: Copper is in great health with no current concerns. He does seem to have a beef sensitivity, so he’s currently on chicken-based food and treats with success. Forever Home Wishlist: A fenced yard is preferred An apartment or apartment-style setting could be fine, as he's quiet and well-mannered A family committed to continuing his progress with toy/food guarding Older children or an adult-only home Another dog companion would be a plus, especially one who matches his gentle energy If you think Copper will be a great addition to your family, please reach out to us by following one of the options below. 1. If you have already completed the adoption or foster application process and have been approved by UMGDR, please contact Copper’s Placement Coordinator at callie@thegreatdanerescue.com to express interest. 2. Story
WAITLIST CLOSED  Introducing Dylan! Affectionate Quiet Well-Mannered Chill Personality: Dylan is a calm, affectionate Great Dane who enjoys the simple things in life—snuggling with her people, lounging in the sun, and quietly keeping you company. She is a very easygoing girl who forms strong bonds with her humans and loves to lie at their feet or stay close by throughout the day. While she can be a little timid at first, Dylan warms up with patience and kindness and quickly becomes a loyal companion. She is incredibly well-mannered and has a relaxed, steady presence in the home. Socialness: Dylan previously lived with children aged 10 and older and did very well with them. She does not currently live with children in her foster home but has shown a gentle and respectful demeanor around people. She seems to have a slight preference for men but is affectionate with everyone once she feels comfortable. Slow introductions help her build confidence when meeting new people. She has previously lived with both male and female dogs without any issues. In her foster home, she mostly ignores other dogs but will occasionally show a playful side. Dylan does not have a dominant personality and would do well either with another respectful dog companion or as the only dog in the home. While there are no cats in her current foster home, she previously lived with a cat and only showed interest in trying to play with it. Likes: Snuggling with her people Rope toys Lying in the sun Going for walks Dislikes: Fast introductions Training: Dylan is crate-trained and housebroken. She knows the commands sit, down, come, and leave it. She walks fairly well on a leash and does not jump on people. Like many Danes, she occasionally tries a little counter surfing if food is left within reach. She has shown very mild toy resource guarding but has not shown any guarding behavior with food. Dylan also tends to need a little encouragement when being invited onto beds or couches, but once settled in, she enjoys relaxing on soft surfaces. Health: Dylan is in great health with no current concerns. She has experienced happy tail in the past, but it is not currently an issue. Forever Home Wishlist: Physical fence not required Could do well in an apartment setting Family gone no more than 6 hours preferred (up to 8 hours if needed) Slow introductions to new people and animals Another dog companion is welcome but not required A calm home that appreciates a relaxed, affectionate companion Fun Fact: Dylan is a champion foot-warmer and blanket lover—she is happiest when she can curl up nearby and quietly keep her favorite people company.
