Introducing Jesse!
Goofy Playful Affectionate Social
Personality: Jesse is a young, playful Dane/mix with a big personality and an equally big heart! He is both playful and affectionate, and he absolutely loves spending time with his people. Jesse is still very much in his puppy phase, so he has plenty of energy and curiosity, but he is also already showing what a wonderful companion he can be.
Socialness: Jesse is very social and loves people. He does not have experience with young children, so he should be supervised around younger kids due to his size and energy. He enjoys playing with other dogs and has a great time with Roo, who is another Upper Midwest Great Dane foster who is available for adoption! Jesse does not have experience with cats, so any introductions to cats would need to be slow and carefully managed.
Likes:
Playing with other dogs, especially Roo
Spending time with his people

Dislikes:
Being asked to go into his crate when he would rather keep playing
Training: Jesse is crate trained and housebroken. While he is quiet and non-destructive once he is in his crate, he doesn't always want to go in when it is time, so continued positive crate training will help him become more comfortable with the routine. He can be destructive if left loose while his family is away, so he should continue to be crated when he cannot be supervised.
Like many young Danes, Jesse is still learning what is and isn't appropriate to chew. He does occasionally chew on things he shouldn't, but with consistent redirection, supervision, and appropriate chew toys, he should grow out of this puppy phase without issue.
Health: He is in good health with no current concerns.
Forever Home Wishlist:
A home with a physical fence is preferred so Jesse can safely run and play freely.
A family that can provide continued puppy training, especially with crate routines and appropriate chewing.
Jesse can be left alone for up to approximately 6 hours during the day.
He could do well in an apartment setting, although adopters should be aware that he can bark loudly at times. He is approximately 70 pounds at this time, but still has some growing to do.
A family that is prepared to supervise Jesse around young children because of his size and energy.
Another playful dog would be a great bonus, especially since Jesse loves canine companionship.
Jesse can be adopted on his own, or a family looking to add two Danes can consider adopting him and Roo together!
Fun Fact: Despite his young age, Jesse has already mastered one of the most important Dane skills: the Dane lean! When he isn't busy playing, he is more than happy to lean into his people for some affection.
