Story
My name is Athena! I am about 8 months old and a little under 60 lbs. I am a Pyrenees! I look pretty full blow Pyrenees but since we don't know that for sure - of course, I am a mix! I am gentle, great with kids and dogs and we think I would be just fine with cats. I don't seem to want to hurt a thing! I am a Pyr and I will require a secure fence! I am housebroken and crate-trained. I love affection and I love to snuggle; specifically, I would love to be in your lap! I am pretty much as near perfect as you can get. However, I do come with a heart murmur even at my young age. We all know we never can tell the future with any dog (or really anything!) ut with me, we know that at some point in my adult life, this condition will require some management. But, right now, I am a beautiful and happy pup. I can do anything another dog can do and I absolutely deserve a family that will allow me to live each of my coming years to the fullest. Please fill out an application for me - I will not disappoint! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
My name is Zoe! I am the mom of three beautiful puppies that will be available soon! Unfortunately, while I cared for my puppies (probably more than one litter), no one cared much for me. I am a bit underweight, but better than I was and gaining fast! I am a Great Pyrenees mix and I am 90 lbs but my optimum weight might be more like 105. I am about 2 years old. I have been around children 8+; I am dog friendly! I could probably live with another canine friend but if you are only looking for one in the home, I would be totally fine as an only too. A fenced in yard would be ideal for as I am a guardian breed! I am housebroken and so far, we don't believe I even need a crate. I seem pretty respectful in my surroundings. I am affectionate and while I am watchful of my puppies, I am still very friendly. I am ready for a real home that will treat me like the queen that I am! More pictures are coming! Oh and yes, I am good with cats! Here is the link to the application: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
Meet Penny! Penny is a 4-5-year-old, 75-pound Great Pyrenees or St Bernard and probably a border collie or other breed mix. She is a beautiful and loving dog who is looking for a calm home that she can call her own. Penny would prefer a quiet home life with a comfy bed and lots of snuggles. She walks well on and off the leash, and has great recall off-leash. Penny is house-trained, crate trained, and knows to sit and stay. She loves riding in the car and does fantastic at the groomers. Penny adores being petted and loves people. She has been around children 10 years old and up and has been great! She has done fine with her doggie friends, but she is definitely a people dog! Penny had bloodwork as well as a dental cleaning at her vet visit. She did need a broken tooth extracted. Interested in becoming a forever home for Penny? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Penny. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Penny the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Peppermint "Patty"! Patty is a 17.5-pound 12-week-old puppy. We think Patty is a Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Sheperd mix, but she may even have a bit of Labrador Retriever in her! Patty is very sweet and very playful. She loves to be loved on but equally loves romping around with the other doggies. Patty has done well with all of the friends she has met, children and dogs alike. She is already crate-trained and doing really well on leash training. Patty still needs a bit of help with potty training and more work on a leash to make walks fun and exciting! Interested in becoming a forever home for Patty?
