Story
We gave this gem of a girl the name of Pearl - pearl because she is precious, even though her former owner didn't think so.  Pearl and her brother (already adopted) were left behind by their owner when they moved.  They were just discarded and left to fend for themselves after being used to having a family.  It's still hard for us to understand why people would do this.   Luckily we were able to find Pearl and a wonderful temporary foster. Pearl is a pyrenees mix who the vet estimates to be about 5 years old and weighs 53 pounds.  Pearl has received her vaccinations, been spayed, and has tested negative for heartworm.  The vet trimmed her toenails while she was under sedation (for the spay).  Poor girl - they had grown so long that they deeply embedded themselves into her paw pads.  But she's all healed now.   Now that she is receiving proper care and attention we just need to find her a forever home.  Pearl is a very calm, sweet girl who loves to be around people.  Her fosters recently had a super bowl party and Pearl was a social butterfly greeting everyone, and enjoying hanging out with them to watch the game. She is described as being a calm, super sweet, wonderful, and friendly girl.  She's very loving and enjoys hugs and giving out kisses.  She would be perfect for a family looking for a calm dog. She patiently waits for her food and walks. She loves to go on walks; but being a running partner is not for her.  She doesn't know how to play with toys yet, but she loves puzzles that involve treats.  She's treat and food motivated, which is a big help when it comes to training.  She knows sit, come, and responds to her name. Is your household looking for a precious gem like Pearl?  If yes, please apply to give her a happy, loving home. Personality: calm, sweet, friendly, social, affectionate Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs (submissive to other dogs).  Has not been cat tested yet but we believe she will do fine. Estimated date of birth: July 2020 Weight: 53 pounds Training: house trained, good in the car, knows 'sit', 'come' Medical: vetted, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped Location: Currently with a foster in NJ, and once you are approved to adopt, is available for a meet and greet.  For more videos of Pearl, check out her YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmB5-2QLmiJOxvWvcslGBNhxEYhniBG9o If you have any questions please email: friendsforlifeanimalrescue@gmail.com To apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/210286667669167 We always need fosters, please join us!  https://form.jotform.com/210257395409155 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to JFK & EWR💟 The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate. Meet Yeoreum💕 (her name means “Summer” in Korean) 💙 Adogs News Account : @_adogs_ 1⃣ Health Condition * Spayed. * Microchipped and hearworm negative. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Yeoreum is one of the dogs that the Adogs team rescued from a dogslaughter farm in 2022. Spending a long time there, she was about to be put down, but Adogs was able to rescue her just in the nick of time. 3⃣ Basic Information * With People: Has a calm and timid personality and is slow to adapt to new environments. When strangers approach her, she tends to avoid them and leaves the area. Previously, she had to be cornered for touching to be possible, but has recently become more comfortable with pets. Still, she doesn’t stay still and tries to get away if strangers pick her up. Also runs away from familiar people, but she can be leashed and touched when cornered. Accepts treats if you drop it on the ground. * With Dogs: If a dog approaches too closely or annoys her, she growls and snarls to express her displeasure. May bite other dogs so caution is needed. * With Cats: Shows no reaction to cats she encounters during walks and focuses on the person walking with her. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed yet since she lives communally with other dogs at our center. May need training in a home environment. * Potty Training: Unknown, since she lives communally at our center. * Hygiene: Was given a bath after getting dirty on a walk, and calmly accepted it! * Walks: Runs away and avoids the leash, but once the leash is actually on, she follows her handler well on walks. * Car Sickness: Does not show any symptoms of motion sickness during short distances, like when going to the veterinary clinic. Unclear how she would do on long-distance trips. * When another dog suddenly approaches and gets too pushy, she growls to tell them to stop. * Has a strong appetite and loves to eat. Enjoys resting indoors alone. Has had extended kennel training so she is able to handle long periods of crating, such as if she goes on an airplane or on a long drive. * Gets surprised and runs away when people approach, but accepts pets calmly once you actually manage to touch her.

** Tune in to our Facebook page (Great Pyrenees Rescue Society - GPRS) every Sunday at 3pm CT to see our dogs LIVE!  You can also find previous episodes on our YouTube channel (@gprspyrs). If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org ** Bonita. It means beautiful. And whoever gave her that name must have known. The softest hint of mascara frames her gaze, like she knew she’d be meeting the one who would love her forever. Those golden ears. That thick, silky coat that looks like it was spun from sunlight. She’s stunning. But the most beautiful thing about Bonita is that her personality matches her name just as perfectly. She is shy at first. Soft. Observant. Careful with her heart. She won’t rush into your arms like she’s known you forever. She’ll take a moment. She’ll watch you. She’ll decide. And then — she blossoms. It’s the sweetest transformation. The quiet girl becomes playful. The timid one becomes affectionate. The gentle soul leans in for love like she’s been saving it just for you. Born around May 2025, Bonita is still just a baby, learning the world one brave step at a time. And when she chooses you — when she realizes she’s safe — it feels like she’s giving you something precious. Because she is. Bonita isn’t loud. She isn’t demanding. She’s the kind of dog who will grow into your life like she was always meant to be there. Her name means beautiful. And if you’re the right person for her, you won’t just see it — you’ll feel it. Bonita is ready to bloom in a home of her own. Maybe it’s yours. Bonita will need obedience training as she gets older and mature. There is a lot for a puppy to learn and like all small puppies, she will need someone who can be home with her a lot and provide her with love, patience and boundaries to help her become a loyal companion. She loves the companionship of other animals and requires another dog in the home to act as her mentor as she continues to understand the rules of her new world. If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org. ** Meet Dexter, a joyful, affectionate boy who believes life is best enjoyed close to the people he loves. He’s happiest sitting nearby, leaning in for pets, or curling up for a good snuggle. Attention makes his tail wag, and he gives that love right back tenfold. Born around January 2024, Dexter shares a deep, unbreakable bond with his sister, Lexi. After being abandoned together, the two relied on each other for comfort and reassurance. That connection still guides him today. Dexter follows Lexi everywhere. If she goes inside without him, he’ll search until he finds her—and once he does, he races right up to her like he’s been reunited with his favorite part of the world. Because of this bond, Dexter and Lexi must be adopted together. Dexter is playful in the most endearing way. He loves toys and chew bones, but his idea of fun extends far beyond traditional dog toys. Empty egg cartons, cardboard boxes, everyday odds and ends—if it exists, Dexter is willing to try playing with it at least once. He’s friendly, loving, and full of personality, including a classic Pyr-style stubborn streak. When Dexter is outside and decides he’s not ready to come in, he’ll simply lay down and let you know he’s made his choice. He also would not be a good fit for a home with chickens or ducks. Dexter is a loyal, loving boy with a gentle soul and a playful heart. Dexter and Lexi are ready for a home where they’ll never be left behind again, where they can continue to share their story together.
