***Please note this is an "out of town" pet. This pet will be transported once they have a committed family. All transportation fees are already included in the adoption fees.*** Gidget Joy (Gigi) is a 1 year old playful, friendly, gentle, athletic young dog with lots of energy! She is a perfect mix - we believe she has some retriever, some Pyrenees and perhaps even some hound! She is a sweet, affectionate, and goofy little pup! She is always ready for a game of throw or an exciting walk. Gigi is a great companion for active people who love the outdoors. She is super friendly and will walk right up to you and say hi! She will be your best friend in no time, and she gets along great with other dogs! She is crate-trained and house-broken. She is a very loving dog and will make a great addition to your family. We know you'll love her as much as we do! Gigi was dumped by her former owner, and the kind folks that found her brought her to FWFP for a new beginning! Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Gigi the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Ms. Lady is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix who is super sweet, friendly with people and dogs and who would probably would be fine with cats because of her easy-going disposition. She is crate trained and housetrained but could use more leash training - she is rarely leashed as she has a big beautiful backyard to run around in her foster home in Texas! She is very low maintenance, low to medium energy,  and is in a foster home with 30 other dogs - she had that easy going, typical Pyr personality. Lady is about 4 years old and weighs 68 pounds. She is already fully vetted and she's healthy, heartworm negative, has no tick borne diseases and is on monthly preventatives, etc.   Lady is just happy to be in a home where someone is treating her well and she does not have to worry about where her next meal is coming from. She came into a Texas shelter with another Pyr mix (possibly her brother) - both were owner surrendered because the owners were letting them run loose and they did not want to pay the fine. The brother went to a local Austin rescue and Lady is now with NorthStar. If you've always wanted to have a Great Pyrenees in your family, just fill out an application at www.northstarpets.org and ask to meet this sweet and gentle gal! The adoption fee for Ms. Lady will be $425. December 12, 2024, 7:37 pm

** Tune in to our Facebook page (Great Pyrenees Rescue Society - GPRS) every Sunday at 3pm CT to see our dogs LIVE!  You can also find previous episodes on our YouTube channel (@gprspyrs). If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org.** Meet Humphry—a sweet little lovebug with the soul of a poet. As the biggest pup in his litter, you might assume he would be the rowdy kid in the bunch, but Humphry’s the one quietly taking it all in—like a little philosopher in fur. While his siblings bounce and tumble, Humphry is often found taking in the world with curious eyes, as if he’s making sure he doesn’t miss a single detail. Born in May 2025, Humphry is the kind of pup who’d rather give you a soft puppy kiss than wrestle for the spotlight. He’s a certified snuggler, happiest when he’s curled up in your lap and soaking in every hug and kiss you’re willing to give. Calm, sweet, and irresistibly cuddly, Humphry is proof that the biggest paws can belong to the softest soul. Whoever scoops up this little cutie is in for a lifetime of puppy smooches and loyal companionship. Humphry will need obedience training as he gets older and mature. There is a lot for a puppy to learn and like all small puppies, he will need someone who can be home with him a lot and provide him with love, patience and boundaries to help him become a loyal companion. He loves the companionship of other animals and requires another dog in the home to act as his mentor as he continues to understand the rules of his new world. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and company used. Northeast transport fee is $200. The Northwest and Midwest transport fees range from $225-$350, The Southeast transport fees range from $250-$350. GPRS has proudly placed thousands of Great Pyrenees and GP mixes in the PNW for over a decade. Our volunteers have over 100 years combined experience fostering, screening, and placing this majestic breed into loving, forever homes. When adopting from us, you can rest assured that we provide life-long support and advice when it comes to your new family member. As always, our purpose is to find the best match for every unique dog that comes through our doors. Taking the time to find the right fit comes first and foremost at the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society. If you are interested in adopting, please take the time, and apply. You will see firsthand how much care, attention and love goes into the process, when you are guided a personal screener. If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org. **  If Hannah were a novel, she’d be one of those beautifully written slow burns—the kind that pulls you in gently, page by page, until you realize you’ve fallen completely in love. This lovely little lady is a Great Pyrenees with a calm spirit, a quiet soul, and just a dash of mystery. Born around July 2022, Hannah’s not the life-of-the-party type—more like the girl in the corner reading poetry, waiting for someone kind enough to sit down and really see her. She’s the kind of girl who prefers soft-spoken love stories over action movies, and she’s not one to rush into things. New people? She’ll need a minute. But once you earn her trust (hint: gentle pets and soft voices are her love language), she’ll reward you with the kind of loyalty that will melt your heart into a puddle. Since settling into her foster home, Hannah has begun to discover the art of silliness, especially when playing with the resident dog, her furry partner in backyard shenanigans. Hannah will need a canine companion in her forever home—someone to show her the ropes, share the zoomies, and remind her that life is better with a buddy. Hannah is a smaller Great Pyrenees, which means she brings all the floofy charm of the breed in a slightly more compact package—perfect for those who’ve always dreamed of a Pyr but weren’t sure they had the square footage! Leashes are still a bit of a mystery to her, so she’ll need someone who’s willing to teach her at her own pace—but with kindness and consistency, she’ll learn they’re just another way to walk beside you. Hannah is looking for a home that’s quiet, steady, and full of love—the kind of place where she can take a deep breath and finally exhale. She’s not flashy or loud, but if you’re a person who believes quiet love is the loudest kind, and that every great dog deserves their time to bloom—Hannah may just be your perfect match. If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org. ** Meet Akira, a gorgeous Great Pyrenees who has perfected the art of being both majestic and silly at the same time. Akira is the kind of dog who could ace an IQ test, then celebrate by rolling in the grass with a goofy little grin. One look at her stunning coat and you’ll fall in love, but it's her sweetness and intelligence that will keep you hooked. Born around November 2020, Akira has the kind of brainpower that quietly judges your inability to fold fitted sheets. She's far too smart to fall for your attempt to spell W-A-L-K instead of actually saying the word. But grab the leash and you’ll see her excitement level skyrocket faster than a kid on Halloween night. This girl is a true lover of the outdoors and she's always up for an adventure, even if the adventure is just an enthusiastic lap around the block. When she's not out exploring, Akira knows how to dial it down and be the perfect snuggle buddy. Her favorite kind of evening includes lounging at your feet, soaking up the calm, occasionally nudging you for a well-deserved belly rub. She's perfectly content to lay quietly while you work from home, making her the ideal co&#226&#128&#145worker who never hogs the Wi&#226&#128&#145Fi. Crate-trained and house-trained, Akira is a good-natured companion who is easy to have around. She absolutely adores people, and greets new friends and visitors to her foster home with warmth and enthusiasm. She's a playful lady and will be happiest in a home with a large dog buddy who appreciates her flair for fun. Akira does prefer her four-legged friends to be large like her, so she’s looking for a home with no cats and no small dogs. She would do well with a semi-active family and a securely fenced yard to run and play. With her playful spirit and affectionate heart, Akira is sure to make a delightful addition to any dog-loving home. If you’re looking for a smart and silly cuddle bug who wants to be part of every adventure—and every lazy Sunday—Akira might just be your perfect match!
