Story
Hey there here’s my rescue story! My CPR foster mom was driving on Hwy spotted me & my mama on the shoulder of the highway. She immediately turned around and picked both of us up! We are both in foster care and loving life. I’m crate trained ! My mom is definitely a Great Pyrenees ! Rick adores my granddaughters and looks forward to their visits. Rick is playful, sweet & fun puppy! Hope you will adopt me and we will live happily ever after! Rick Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Hello, I'm Good Sam. I've got a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I'm a sweet, friendly guy who loves to make new friends. My playful side will keep you laughing and my gentle nature will comfort you on tough days. I'm loyal, too. Once we're pals, we're pals for life. I'm great with kids, you know. Their giggles and energy make my day. I may not have a home yet, but I'm hopeful. So, why should you adopt me? Because I promise to be the best friend you've ever had. I'll bring joy, love, and laughter to your life every day. Note from his foster mom: Good Sam did such a good job with his write up, but I wanted to add that he's probably just under a year old, and he weighs about 65 pounds. I picked him up as a stray after I had seen him hanging in the same spot for several days. I imagine where I picked him up is where he was dropped off, and he stayed there thinking his "people" would come back for him. Good Sam is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested ****** for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. Story
Sweet Freckles has a sad backstory, but her future is looking bright. Freckles was used as a puppy factory by a backyard breeder in West TN. She did not get any socialization as she was growing up and this has caused her to be extremely shy and timid toward humans. The breeder contacted CPR about surrendering a litter of puppies. When the CPR volunteer went to pick the puppies up, she noticed what a terrible state Freckles, along with 3 other pyrs, were living in. The volunteer convinced the owner to surrender the adults along with the litter of puppies. Freckles was covered in fleas and ticks when she came to CPR. Due to the infestation, she had to be shaved down. She is starting to grow her coat out and also put on much-needed weight. When Freckles came to her foster home, she wouldn't get out of the car. She had to be carried to her pen area because she was so frightened and timid. It's been almost two months since Freckles came to her foster home and she is slowly warming up to her foster family. She is very treat motivated. She loves hot dogs. Every day, her foster dad can see the struggle in her eyes as she hovers just out of his reach. Freckles so wants to be loved and petted, but just can't seem to get over her fears. Freckles is in foster care with her sister Lea, who has warmed up completely to the foster family. Freckles desperately needs a soft place to land with people who will be patient with her as she works on trusting them. Freckles is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. Story
Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

This beauty is really a super sweet gal and guess what?! She’s STILL looking for a furever home! Sadeigh joined our “pack” a whole year ago, yet here she is still waiting for her happily ever after. Sadeigh was surrendered to NorthStar when her mom became seriously ill. Sadeigh had been with her mom for 6 years and that was the only home she had known! But she has settled in at her NJ foster home and is doing really well.     Sadeigh is about 8 1/2 years old, weighs 67 pounds and as you can see, she is absolutely gorgeous. She is housetrained, too! Sadeigh does need to be the only dog in her home but is super friendly with people and is fine with cats! It’s true! She loves all people & she is ready to love YOU! She is just an easy going couch potato although she does enjoy playing and lounging in the yard.   If you'd like to give this beautiful girl a fresh start, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for her by name, SADEIGH TX!December 8, 2023, 12:17 pm
