Story
Hello, this is Jack a 3-4 month old husky/shepherd mix seeking a loving and caring forever home. Jack was given to me by a homeless person and was in pretty bad shape; scrawny and very scared. I decided to foster him until I found him a good home, despite knowing that my landlord doesn’t allow pets in my apartment. I thought it would be easy to find Jack a home, but it’s been over a month and still no luck. I’m worried my landlord will find out and evict me, but I’m still working hard to find Jack great owners. Jack is potty trained and uses the pads. He is gentle, active, alert, obedient, and outgoing. He also does well with other dogs and children. He does get scared with adults which I’m assuming comes from previous trauma (I’m thinking he was physically abused), so I’m seeking an owner that will patient and gentle with him. Jack is small/medium in size and I’m not sure if he’ll grow but the vet said he can grow up to 30lbs. Small adoption fee.

Story
MEET CECILE! Cecile is a 1yr Husky/Malmute mix (aka Alusky) that weighs about 50lbs. She wandered into an outdoor flea market and happily watched 100's of people and dogs shopping. We brought her into our rescue after looking for her owners. Cecile is now at our kennel and ready for a forever home! Cecile is still a youngster and needs someone who can give her attention, exercise and training. She would make a great running and hiking buddy. Cecile is affectionate, very people oriented, and has been indifferent around other animals. If you'd like to meet Cecile, please fill out our brief questionnaire at downtowndogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire. If you reply through Adopt-A-Pet, we will still want you to fill out the five minute questionnaire. Cecile is spayed, microchipped, and current on shots.

For more information and the adoption application for Akira, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21954&name=AkiraAkira is a 7-year-old female Husky/Malamute mix who weighs around 65 pounds. She is a sweet and loving companion who likes to snuggle and play, is friendly to everyone (except cats), and plays great with other dogs when at daycare/boarding. She is great with kids, very patient and gentle with the two toddler boys in the home, and loves to act as a vacuum for them at meal time.Akira is housebroken, and currently sleeps freely on doggy beds inside the home, but is crate trained. She loves to take walks and play, but does know how to turn off that Husky energy. Akira knows basic commands and takes to learning new thing quickly, especially when treats are involved. No howling, though she will let you know when she wants something, which are usually pets and snuggles. She is an absolute sweetheart and would benefit from an active family with lots of love and attention to give. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.May 23, 2024, 6:17 am

For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number of #A1818905, and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one has responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love to be able to let him adjust inside a wonderful foster (or adoptive) home. Right now, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d do best as the only dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s on the small side for a husky but make no mistake, sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s your typical young, super-energetic, rough and tumble husky. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s in a foster home with multiple dogs and is doing great. She is learning her manners but in usual Husky fashion she forgets them more often than not. She would do best with an active family and another high energy dog to play with.
