Story
Brody IS AVAILALBE (updated 10-01-2023).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Brody, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22028&name=BrodyBrody has smoldering good looks. He&#39s beyond handsome, very charming, totally social, loves everyone, and will win you over in minutes. Here&#39s the real question. Can you handle being the second best looking one in the family? Sure, he can&#39t have access outside when no one is home because he can and will jump a 7&#39 fence, but that&#39s not the real issue here. Are you secure enough to handle his good looks? Are you ready to be completely ignored when out in public? Everyone&#39s eyes will drop to your dog and all you&#39ll hear is &#39omg, he&#39s amazing! He&#39s so soft! He&#39s so sweet! He&#39s so handsome!&#39 You might as well not even be there. Brody will eat it up and you&#39ll eventually have to say, &#39OK, so it&#39s getting really late and we&#39ve been here for 95 minutes and should probably get going.&#39 Are you ready for that? This handsome boy is probably around 5-6 years old, and he&#39s great with people and gets along with female dogs who like to play rough. He&#39s got all of the energy that comes along with puppihood, but is smart and food motivated, making him fun to train. He&#39s a Husky in every way, good on a leash, obedience trained, super loving and sweet, and going to make someone very happy to have him in the family! He would do best in a family with Husky experience. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.October 1, 2023, 5:29 am

For more information and the adoption application for Akira, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21954&name=AkiraAkira is a 6-year-old female Husky/Malamute mix who weighs around 65 pounds. She is a sweet and loving companion who likes to snuggle and play, is friendly to everyone (except cats), and plays great with other dogs when at daycare/boarding. She is great with kids, very patient and gentle with the two toddler boys in the home, and loves to act as a vacuum for them at meal time.Akira is housebroken, and currently sleeps freely on doggy beds inside the home, but is crate trained. She loves to take walks and play, but does know how to turn off that Husky energy. Akira knows basic commands and takes to learning new thing quickly, especially when treats are involved. No howling, though she will let you know when she wants something, which are usually pets and snuggles. She is an absolute sweetheart and would benefit from an active family with lots of love and attention to give. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Story
Meet BABY BUSTER! He is about 12 week old puppy who was a "surprise" when we went to go spay his momma, Berlin (also avail for adoption). He has spent his whole life in a foster home and is ready for adoption! Buster, is eager to put his big boy pants on and take on the world! He is learning to take short walks on leash in the neighborhood and is working on his potty training. His favorite hobbies are wrestling with his mama, getting belly rubs, napping, and chewing on anything he can get his baby teeth on. He's a great snuggler too! Buster is still a baby and we are waiting for him to be neutered until he's grown into his body a little more - about 9 months of age - so he will be adopted out as a "foster to adopt" with the adoption formalized after he is neutered (covered by us). We expect him to be at least 50lbs and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up closer to 80lbs when fully grown. If you're in the Los Angeles area and ready to bring a growing pup into your life, with everything that comes with a young dog (Please do your research on raising a puppy before applying), please fill out our adoption questionnaire at downtowndogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire and our adoption coordinator will get back to you. #ddrbuster

Story
MEET BERLIN. She is a sweet husky mix we rescued through our community outreach program. When we got her spayed she had a "surprise" baby that she nursed to health and Berlin is now ready for her forever home! During her time in foster, nursing her son Buster (also for adoption), her foster mom said she was great guest. Super active and athletic but could also mellow out and enjoy an evening on the couch watching tv with her humans. BERLIN is now at our kennel where she has been having fun playing with the other dogs. She has a flexible play style and can happily engage in a game of chase or some soft and gentle rolling around. BERLIN would love an active home where she can walk, run, and go on hikes. She can be a bit of an escape artist (channeling her husky-side) so a home with high fencing or an apartment with secure surroundings would be ideal. BERLIN is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and crate trained. If you are in the Los Angeles area and would like to meet BERLIN, fill out our adoption questionnaire at downtowndogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire and our adoption coordinator will get back to you. Story
Meet PANDA! He's a very smart, happy 2 1/2yr old pup who came to us through our community outreach program where he grew up on the street around lots of people and several other dogs, including his mother and father. PANDA is a party boy and loves to play. He'll happily jump in the pool, run around with the other dogs, and repeat again and again. PANDA is very smart and likes training/using his brain, and would make a great running or hiking buddy for an experienced adopter who has an active lifestyle. Here is more video of him playing - https://www.instagram.com/p/ClmN4qpgrbc/ PANDA weighs about 50lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, crate an house trained. If you'd like to meet PANDA and are in the Los Angeles area, please fill out our brief questionnaire at www.downtowndogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire and we will get back to you.
