Story
We have a healthy, beautiful 1yr old husky/malamute mix who we adopted at 10-wks. We already had two 9-yr-old small dogs and thought that her growing up with them would be fine. We’ve had Kodi for a year now and she is the sweetest, cutest, most loving, and smart dog however her natural prey drive is instinctively too much for our little dogs and cat. So I would say she’s not a good fit for any families with small animals, but great for a family with kids or big dogs. She is a sweet and playful dog, LOVES playtime with my kids, and loves her toys, but she doesn’t get enough exercise due to our work and kid sport schedules. The decision to re-home breaks our hearts, but she is just not a fit for our family right now - it’s unfair to her that we don’t have the time to devote to her due to work and kid sports, and also unfair to our old little dogs. Needs a fam with time to devote and a yard. House trained, kennel trained, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and about full grown at 50 lb

Story
&#226&#156&#168 Meet Erica — Your Ride-or-Die Adventure Girl! &#226&#156&#168 If you’re looking for a best friend, shadow, and lifelong sidekick, Erica is that girl. Erica is a 10-week-old puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s loyal, smart, and spunky, the kind of dog who wants to be wherever you are — hiking trails, weekend adventures, or just following you from room to room like your built-in bestie.  Erica in a nutshell: A true ride-or-die companion Smart, eager, and excellent adventure material Great with dogs and people Best with older kids or kids who understand big-dog energy Already crate trained & dog-door trained (yes, already!) Would love a canine buddy to pal around with  Important to know: Erica is not an apartment dog — she’s a bit of a talker when left alone and prefers a home where she has space, stimulation, and ideally another dog for company.January 10, 2026, 11:21 am

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pochocco #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Pochacco | 7-Month-Old Husky | A Shy Soul with a Playful Husky Heart Pochacco—affectionately known as “Muchacho” in his foster home—is a young Husky pup who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. At just 7 months old, he’s already a big boy and growing into his classic husky traits: playful, curious, sometimes vocal, and full of potential. He’s close to being house trained, though adopters should expect some accidents during the transition to a new environment. He does best when crated at night or when left alone, as he’s firmly in the mischievous husky puppy stage and enjoys exploring with his mouth. Pochacco is very shy with people and currently fearful of leashes and cars, so walks are a work in progress. When he first arrived, he wouldn’t allow pets at all, but with time, patience, and the influence of the confident dogs in his foster home, he has begun to seek out gentle affection. He is very much a dog’s dog and absolutely thrives around other dogs—playing chase, wrestling, and gaining confidence from their presence. Because of this, Pochacco will need a home with another playful, confident dog who can help guide him and continue building his confidence. He also does well with cats, generally ignoring them. This sweet boy loves toys, treats, and canine companionship. While he isn’t quite ready for cuddles yet, he enjoys being near his people and observing from a comfortable distance. Pochacco will do best with a calm, patient adopter who understands huskies (or is eager to learn), has a securely fenced yard, and is committed to ongoing training, socialization, and confidence-building. With time and understanding, Pochacco has all the makings of a loyal, fun-loving companion—he just needs the right environment to help him shine.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! For more information, please contact Destination Rescue Dogs at info@destinationrescue.org or amber.schroeder@gmail.com or call 602-743-0006   Meet Sasha! Found wandering along railroad tracks with her two puppies, Sasha was heartbreakingly thin and struggling to survive. She protected her little family with everything she had, but when rescued, it was clear she was exhausted and malnourished. Fortunately, her foster mom found her and took amazing care of her!  Sasha is thriving in her foster home and ready to find her forever family! Sasha is the perfect blend of playful energy and loyal companionship. This gorgeous girl is the kind of dog who’ll make every day a little brighter, whether she’s chasing after her favorite ball or curling up at your feet after a long day. Sasha absolutely lives for a good game of fetch, she could play for hours if you let her, always ready with that eager tail wag and happy grin that says, “One more throw, please!” When it’s time to relax, Sasha knows how to settle in. She’s crate trained, completely house trained, and loves nothing more than being near her people snuggled close while you watch your favorite show or unwind for the evening. She walks beautifully on a leash or harness, making her the perfect adventure buddy for anyone who enjoys strolls around the neighborhood or exploring the trails. Sasha would thrive with an active family or someone willing to throw the ball for her every day. She gets along well with other dogs but would be just as happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. In every way, Sasha is ready to be someone’s best friend, playful, loving, loyal, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring laughter, companionship, and endless games of fetch into your life, Sasha is waiting to meet you. Sasha is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 48 lbs. Sasha is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to many locations across the country. Transport fee is included in her adoption fee.December 25, 2025, 10:44 am

Story
Male 3 years old Odin was found on the side of the road with fleas and 2 dead siblings. He’s friendly but also scared of new people and shy at at first. He needs someone that will give him all the attention he needs. When he’s hungry he’ll bring you his bowls and when he wants love he will paw you for attention. He is also very smart and knows how to scape of your yard so preferably he needs a huge yard with room to run or someone who is an outdoor person.
