Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Introducing Dire! Dire is a 2 year old husky mix, and he is a 24/7 happy, affectionate, and outgoing kiddo who believes everyone he meets is his new best friend. He does great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and would love a playful dog or dog-savvy cat buddy, though it’s not required if his home provides lots of playtime, attention, and regular dog friends. Dire has the energy of a young pup and is always playing with his toys. He loves fetch and can happily entertain himself with a tennis ball for hours. His new home should be prepared for a dog who thrives on play. A secure, fenced yard is required, as backyard play sessions are key to keeping him happy and comfortable. Dire was born with a condition called Myasthenia Gravis, but he does not require any special treatment, regimen, or medication. Because of this, Dire needs a home with a dog door or one that can provide regular trips outside. He’s learning to signal when he needs to go, but once he does, he needs quick access outside. Dire has been through training and knows the basics, though, like many huskies, he can be a bit of a lovable spaz. He does well on walks but isn’t a candidate for long ones; short walks are best, while yard play suits him perfectly. Despite his energy, he thinks he’s about 20 pounds and loves to cuddle. He’s also making great progress with house manners. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but Dire more than makes up for it with his joyful spirit and love of life. Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2363963##

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pochocco #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Pochacco | 7-Month-Old Husky | A Shy Soul with a Playful Husky Heart Pochacco—affectionately known as “Muchacho” in his foster home—is a young Husky pup who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. At just 7 months old, he’s already a big boy and growing into his classic husky traits: playful, curious, sometimes vocal, and full of potential. He’s close to being house trained, though adopters should expect some accidents during the transition to a new environment. He does best when crated at night or when left alone, as he’s firmly in the mischievous husky puppy stage and enjoys exploring with his mouth. Pochacco is very shy with people and currently fearful of leashes and cars, so walks are a work in progress. When he first arrived, he wouldn’t allow pets at all, but with time, patience, and the influence of the confident dogs in his foster home, he has begun to seek out gentle affection. He is very much a dog’s dog and absolutely thrives around other dogs—playing chase, wrestling, and gaining confidence from their presence. Because of this, Pochacco will need a home with another playful, confident dog who can help guide him and continue building his confidence. He also does well with cats, generally ignoring them. This sweet boy loves toys, treats, and canine companionship. While he isn’t quite ready for cuddles yet, he enjoys being near his people and observing from a comfortable distance. Pochacco will do best with a calm, patient adopter who understands huskies (or is eager to learn), has a securely fenced yard, and is committed to ongoing training, socialization, and confidence-building. With time and understanding, Pochacco has all the makings of a loyal, fun-loving companion—he just needs the right environment to help him shine.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
