Please help this sweet boy! We adopted Dakota 5 years ago, looking for a companion dog who would be a good protector. He is very well trained. He is a 7 year old mostly Husky mix with 1 blue eye and a big heart. He has had some reactivity to high energy/aggressive dogs in the past. He is doing better and enjoys walks and hikes with no major issues. He doesn't get along with boisterous children and needs an adult only home. We ended up with a young puppy and Dakota hasn't been happy but he has not been at all reactive. He prefers to be the only dog. We are about to move and are not able to have two dogs anymore. We are looking for a couple or a single person with no kids and no other dogs or cats. Dakota is a great dog and loves to be with people who can be his pack, take him on hikes, and hang out with him. He loves the outdoors and camping too. Please help this smart and affectionate boy find a home. He has good health insurance and comes with all supplies including his bed.

Story

Brandy was adopted by us from Canyon City in a small trailer park when she was about 5-6 months old. Shes 2 years now and a husky mix! I’ve been so lucky to have this sweet girl with me through so much! Brandy gets along great with our two cats, friends dogs, and any new family. She can be grumbly but is just cautious and very welcoming and sweet. She does have dietary restrictions (fish kibble only, no meat) and has a resource hoard with water so her intake is monitored during feeding. She has sensitive skin and tends to get rashes during season changes but we keep her fed with an antihistamine once a day. She has been house trained, and did great the first few months, but regardless of being taken out at least 4 times a day she still goes inside. She needs someone who can be home and with her the majority of the day to train, play, and keep company with. I love her dearly but I cannot accommodate her needs for my own job and mental health needs. I hope to find her someone deserving!

She is potty-trained and crate-trained, and she is making huge improvements in walking on a leash. She seems pretty curious about other dogs on walks, and she wants to make best friends with any people who pass by. Maya is still decompressing from her past life. She is the sweetest girl and has shown no signs of aggression, but she does hide sometimes and buries treats to save them for later. She is very quiet (we still don’t know what her bark sounds like!) and would probably benefit from a confident dog companion to show her the ropes.
