Story
Loo is such a special, loving girl! Loo is under 2 yrs old, 50lbs, up to date on vaccines, potty-trained, microchipped, and now spayed! She was picked up as a stray in Southern CA and tossed into one of the highest-kill shelters in America. She was deadlined with a scheduled euthanasia time (due to no space/homeless pet crisis). Miraculously, Loo was rescued; so we could foster her here! If you are interested in adopting her, have Husky/Shepsky experience, have a very active lifestyle, and want to spoil her too - let us know! Loo is gaining her confidence with new people and animals. She's learned how to walk on a leash, play with toys; she knows her name, and 'sit' already! She is an intelligent, fun, athletic, loyal, cuddle buddy! She's a velcro-dog. No cats please. Whoever adopts Loo aka "Loo Berry" will be so lucky! She is just the best! After you apply, let's set up a Meet N Greet.

Story
Hello, This is Natsu. I took him in after learning he was headed for the shelter. But I can not keep him long term. Not because of behavioral issues but simply because I don’t have the financial resources or free time required for such a dog. He’s incredibly well trained and friendly around other animals. I have a small cat that he gets along with expect the cat mostly doesn’t engage with him. He needs up to date shots but he’s healthy as far as I’m concerned. Please please please help me find him a more permanent home thank you 🙏🏼

Story
Ghost is an amazing dog! He is a big cuddle bug! He has been with me since he was 5 weeks old! Unfortunately due to health conditions I will no longer be able to keep him! I am looking for the perfect rehome for him! He is completely potty trained, he stays in the yard off the leash but able to do that where we live, he is active and loves to play! He is never bit anyone or hurt anyone. He is a very good dog and if it wasn’t for my health conditions I would never get rid of him!!

Story
Meet Frosty, a striking black-and-white Husky with unforgettable icy blue eyes and an equally beautiful personality. Born around December 15, 2024, Frosty is still very much a puppy and already showing all the classic Husky charm—curious, energetic, and full of life. He’s the kind of dog who greets the world with enthusiasm and would thrive in a home that enjoys staying active and engaged. Whether it’s long walks, playtime in the yard, or learning new things, Frosty is ready to be your adventure partner. Despite his high energy, Frosty is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He loves people and enjoys being part of the action, making him a wonderful companion for someone who wants a dog that’s both loving and lively. Frosty will do best in a home that understands the needs of an intelligent, active breed and can provide him with structure, exercise, and continued training as he grows. He will need a cat-free home, as he’s not compatible with feline friends. Frosty is looking for a committed adopter who can keep up with his energy level and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. In return, he promises loyalty, fun, and plenty of love. If you’re ready for a sweet, spirited Husky puppy to add excitement and companionship to your life, Frosty may be the perfect match. Apply to adopt today: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what PetFinder, AdoptAPet and other aggregation software systems state - the first step is to submit an application via the link above, NOT send a message through their platforms. Thank you!)

Story
Polar — Husky Mix Puppy (Male) Born around Christmas Day! Polar is pure chaos in the most endearing way. Like all his brothers, he sounds like a tiny dinosaur when he plays—very vocal, very dramatic, and very funny. He’s curious, bold, conclude exploring his world, and already showing that classic husky confidence. Polar will grow into a medium to large dog and will thrive with an active family who loves the outdoors. These pups are not apartment dogs—they need space to run, play, and burn energy. A secure fenced yard is strongly recommended, along with supervision, as their mom is an impressive jumper who clears obstacles with ease. Early training will be essential to help Polar channel his enthusiasm into good manners. In return, you’ll get a loyal, adventurous companion who will keep life exciting. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $500 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
