Story
Meet Skellington! Skellington is a four year old Husky available for adoption. He was found a few weeks ago as a stray with a black hoodie on with skeleton bones and we were surprised that no one called looking for him. We checked our records and online reports and unforunately came up empty handed. Skellington does well with other dogs and wouldn`t mind a friend at home. He loves treats and likes to zoom throught the snow (of course). Yes, he is a handsome boy and an absolute goofy boy but he is also a Husky. Huskies like to run and need to be worked with. They like to go on long walks, can play for hours, and have the sassiest attitudes on top of everything. Skellington is doing well at the shelter and is very affectionate but don`t let his looks fool you. He has all the Husky attitude and sass and can be quite naughty! Huskies can be on a whole other level at times but with discipline, exercise, and training, they can be very rewarding and great companions! His adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed! Contact our office for adoption details at 815-725-0333. Located in Joliet, IL

Story
Polar — Husky Mix Puppy (Male) Born around Christmas Day! Polar is pure chaos in the most endearing way. Like all his brothers, he sounds like a tiny dinosaur when he plays—very vocal, very dramatic, and very funny. He’s curious, bold, conclude exploring his world, and already showing that classic husky confidence. Polar will grow into a medium to large dog and will thrive with an active family who loves the outdoors. These pups are not apartment dogs—they need space to run, play, and burn energy. A secure fenced yard is strongly recommended, along with supervision, as their mom is an impressive jumper who clears obstacles with ease. Early training will be essential to help Polar channel his enthusiasm into good manners. In return, you’ll get a loyal, adventurous companion who will keep life exciting. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Story
Hello, This pains me to write this because I raised my dog since she was weeks old. We have an 8 year old spayed female Husky (from a breeder) great with adults/dogs, not safe with young children anymore. We have a toddler and a baby due soon. My wife was working from home for the federal government, but lost that job due to the DOGE cuts. She now has to go in to the office full time on most days and I have always had an unpredictable timing in-office job as a general dentist. Being crated all-day most days is not the life for a husky, on top of our concerns of behavior not fit for young children. Our husky is dog-friendly, trained, potty trained indoors and outdoors, able to ring a bell for pottying, fully vaccinated under Banfield's recommended schedule, and medically stable with daily medication (only for some urinary incontinence). She really enjoys going to doggie day care to "play with friends". We can provide all current supplies, crate, leashes and food/treat stores we have.
