Story
Mystic is a 4-month old Husky Mix. She was found wandering in a field after Christmas and brought to a shelter. Fortunately, Mystic is confident and likes to take in the world around her. She is inquisitive, a quick learner and shows signs of the watch dog in her!. She skillfully uses her paws/feet to tap arms, hands, heads and legs to say hi, get attention or play. She is a determined,fast digger. She enjoys playing, outsmarting and hanging out with our dog who is 11 months old and nearly twice her size! She is interested in our cats (positively) and learned not to bark (whew) at them but the puppy in her and her Clydesdale prance at times keep them mainly at bay. That same prance is used when playing with her favorite squeaky toy. Mystic is loving, affectionate and caring. She does not like to be left alone. She has lots of puppy energy but naps well too. She is especially partial to her afternoon nap next to her foster Dad. Mystic is mostly housebroken, initially in 24 hours. For a few days the extreme cold temps caused more ‘indoor accidents’ - happily we are past that! She is crate trained. She is great on a leash in a fenced in backyard and also loves to run free in same yard. She is fast and nimble! If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. Story
Cubby is a 6 year old male Husky who ended up here at the shelter due to his Husky antics and an unfortunate change in family dynamics have changed and his people are no longer able to care for him appropriately. He is looking for an owner who will keep him out of trouble (he likes to escape the yard whenever he is able), and doesn't like to be alone. He would prefer an owner who is active and likes to go on walks and adventures. Cubby has lived with female dogs and has done well, he also has lived with cats and children without issue. Cubby is housetrained but can be destructive if left alone outside of a secure kennel. We recommend a specific kennel style to keep him safe and out of trouble when his people aren't home. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (3 year rabies!), and is heartworm negative. His adoption fee is FREE and he is SO ready to leave the shelter. Hi this is Ghost he is a 6 year old husky. He is very playful and affectionate and actually very quiet compared to a typical husky. He has a few health issues like glaucoma in his one eye and matting but that will be taken care of before adoption. He currently lives in a household with younger children and is good with them and other dogs, unsure how he is around other animals such as cats and small mammals. He is a amazing family dog and will be a great addition to anyones life, unfortunately we do not have the time we need to dedicate to him.

SOS! Solomon is a wonderful 9 yr old husky boy needing an urgent home with no cats or chickens. He was surrendered for euthanasia for killing chickens. Huskies are notorious for escape artists when they are bored. Since he was pulled to the rescue, he has never attempted to escape our fence. He is fully vetted and house trained. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. His adoption fee is only the cost of transport.
