Story
Hi! I’m Lea, Ace’s current owner. Ace is a 4 year old, around 50-pound, energetic and loving boy. He’s very handsome, full of personality, and loves to play. If he could, he’d spend all day having fun, but he also enjoys relaxing and napping after a good workout. He has a bit of a classy side too, his favorite food is salmon. Ace is expressive, affectionate, and brings a lot of joy to the people around him. I’m rehoming him due to changes in my work schedule, and I want to make sure he goes to a home where he can get the time and attention he deserves. He would do best in a loving home with a backyard where he can run and play. He loves being outside, but he also enjoys being inside with his people. If allergies are a concern, I’ve personally struggled with allergies for years and Ace hasn’t caused any issues for me

Story
Meet Dyna, a one-year-old Husky mix with a gentle heart and a growing sense of confidence. She came to us as a shy stray, and sadly, no one came forward to reclaim her. Since then, Dyna has been patiently waiting for a family to call her own—and she’s more than ready to leave shelter life behind. Now fully recovered from her spay surgery, Dyna is eager to stretch her legs and explore the world. She does well with other dogs and has enjoyed making canine friends during her stay. While she may be a bit bashful at first, she truly shines when she’s out on walks or spending time with staff and volunteers in the playrooms. Dyna would thrive in an active home that can help her continue building confidence while giving her plenty of exercise and adventure. Whether it’s hiking, long walks, or just enjoying the outdoors together, Dyna is ready to be your loyal companion every step of the way. Dyna was recently adopted and returned as she was not settling in well with the young children. She is now looking for a home with no young children (5+). Her adoption fee is $200, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Story
Dash is a 2½-year-old Husky mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! He was found as a stray and luckily, he had a microchip. We had no luck with his owner but found out he was with CACC multiple times in 2025. He has just been in and out of the shelter system for so long. Now, he’s more than ready for stability and a true forever home. Dash is high-energy and loves to go 100 mph. Zoomies are his specialty, and he’ll happily run laps around us on a retractable lead in the field to help burn off that Husky stamina. He thrives on activity and would do best with an active family committed to providing plenty of daily exercise—both physical and mental. Long walks, hikes, runs, puzzle toys, and structured playtime will help this fun-loving guy be his very best self. Because of his high energy, zooms, and being mouthy during playtime, Dash is looking for a home without young children (8+). He does well with other dogs that can appreciate (and keep up with!) his big personality and impressive endurance. Dash is hoping this is the LAST time he ever has to call a shelter home. He’s ready to trade kennel life for couch cuddles, outdoor adventures, and a family who will love him for the energetic, spirited companion he is. His adoption fee is $200, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed! Story
From the side of the road in Alabama to center stage—meet our newest cast of survivors. 🎬 Introducing the Grease Litter 🎬 Straight out of a real-life rough opening scene, these six pups were found dumped on the side of the road in Alabama—left without a script, but not without a second chance. Thanks to our rescue partner, they’ve made it to safety and are ready to start rewriting their story… this time with a forever family. This crew is made up of 4 boys and 2 girls, each one already showing off their own personality—whether they’re channeling main character energy or stealing the scene with quiet charm. They may have started out on the wrong road, but they’re headed somewhere much better now. We originally thought they might be a Rottweiler or Collie mix—but Zuko’s DNA results told a different (and pretty awesome) story. They’re actually a unique blend of 29% American Pit Bull Terrier, 29% Siberian Husky, 22% Australian Cattle Dog, 13% Supermutt (American Bulldog & Bulldog), and 4% German Shepherd. So while we were a little off on the Rottweiler guess, we weren’t too far from the mark with the Collie/Cattle Dog instincts! What that mix really means: intelligence, loyalty, energy, and a whole lot of personality. These pups are still young, learning, and soaking up the good life—but they’re already proving that their past doesn’t define them. 🖤 Dogs first. Always. Medical Note for Adopters: Zuko has a DNA test currently pending—we’re excited to share results once available. He was also evaluated by a licensed veterinarian and diagnosed with a grade 1–2 heart murmur. At this level, murmurs are typically low-grade and often considered “innocent” or preclinical, meaning no immediate treatment is required. Routine monitoring with a veterinarian is recommended.

Story
A little shy, a little silly, and 100% ready to find her team—meet Wendy. Wendy is a six-month-old Husky with a story that starts a little uncertain—but is already turning into something really special. She was found as part of a group of 24 dogs living in an abandoned shop in Houston before making her way to one of our trusted rescue partners in Texas on March 14. Just one month later, she made the trip up to us—officially starting her next chapter. Transport day was a big one for Wendy. New place, new people, new everything—and she wasn’t quite sure what to think. She started off pretty skittish and unsure, sticking close and taking it all in from a distance. But here’s the thing about Wendy—she wants to be brave. With a little time outside, some patience, and a few kind humans, you could actually see her confidence start to build. And by the end of the day? She had claimed the water bowl as her own personal pool and was fully living her best life. That’s Wendy in a nutshell: a little cautious at first, but once she realizes she’s safe, her personality starts to shine—and it’s a fun one. She’s going to thrive in a home that understands she may need a little time to settle in, but is ready to celebrate every win along the way. Watching her confidence grow is the kind of thing that makes all of this worth it. Wendy’s story started in an abandoned building—but it’s not ending there. She’s ready for her forever team. Breed & Size Disclaimer: While Wendy appears to be a Husky, breed and adult size are our best guess based on physical traits and observation. These details are not guaranteed, and we always welcome friendly input if you think we may have missed the mark.
