She is sincerely the best dog I've ever had the pleasure of looking after. However, I am rarely home, and she needs more attention than I can give her. Great with other dogs and children. I got her from a coworker about two months ago. She has no health issues, all of her shots are up to date, and she is microchipped. She's 14 but has the energy of a dog half her age.

Story
Meet Dakota! A spirited eight-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky currently in Thornton, CO, whose essence is a delightful blend of playful charm and devoted companionship, wrapped in a stunning coat of grey and white. At about 90 pounds, Dakota may look like a snow king, but he’s really just a big goofball who loves to cuddle, play with balls, and occasionally hold a hilarious “argument” with his humans, classic Husky talk, of course! This affectionate fluffball is all about spreading joy. He adores everyone he meets, including young children, and lights up in the presence of other dogs. In fact, Dakota would absolutely love a home with a fellow playful pup to romp around with. He’s attended doggy day camp like a pro and thrives in social settings where he can burn off energy and then crash for a good snooze. He's got the independent Husky streak down pat! Dakota is fully house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. He knows his commands, handles short periods alone just fine, and doesn’t have any special triggers or anxiety to worry about. While he hasn't shared a home with cats, he has shown a strong interest in chasing them on walks, so a cat-free environment would be the best fit for this curious fellow. True to his breed, Dakota has that classic Husky personality; playful, vocal, stubborn, and endlessly loyal. A home with a secure fenced yard is a must, giving him the freedom to explore safely. And because he thrives best with humans who understand the unique quirks of the Siberian Husky spirit, his next caregivers should ideally be familiar with the breed or ready to fall in love with it. Dakota is ready to bring laughter, love, and unforgettable moments to his next adventure. Are you the experienced, dog-loving family he needs, with a playful pup ready to be his partner in crime? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about Dakota and how you can welcome this one-of-a-kind Husky into your life!

Story
Sasha is a very beautiful young lady with the most gorgeous blue eyes that speak to you. She is approx 1 1/2  yr old, is house and crate trained, knows her basic manners and commands, has had professional training - but is still learning.  She LOVES playing with other dogs of all sizes and ages and would enjoy another active furry friend to play with. She will need a well fenced larger size yard. Sasha LOVES to run and would enjoy a family member or another youthful dog to do that with. She ESPECIALLY loves kids and is very affectionate with them- it is one of her happy places. However, due to her youthful energy level, she would do best in a home with kids school age or older.  She is normal active for a teenager, wants to initially burn off some energy, then sh settles down. She is very inquistive abpout everything. She will walk right into her crate for a treat and does not complain about being there. She is non destructive. Sasha's favorite toy is her red Kong squeaky bone, it goes most everywhere with her. She is very loving, playful, and a joy to be around. She very seldom speaks, but when she does - it is with a petite husky voice. She will make a wonderful member to the lucky individual or family that after a home visit -decides she will fit into their life style and joins their home. ##2493892##

Story
Kai is a 1.5-year-old husky with the energy of a toddler on espresso and the charm to match. He quite literally cheated death after a lifesaving surgery — because of course he did. This street-smart survivor spent a year fending for himself, and now he’s ready to trade survival mode for adventure mode (preferably one that includes hikes, runs, and mental marathons). He’s sweet, spunky, and full of life — the kind of guy who will steal your heart, your socks, and possibly your drywall if you leave him alone too long. :grimacing: Once he knows you, he’s a selective snuggler who will honor you with cuddles on his schedule (because, husky). Kai is looking for a husky-savvy home that understands “tired husky = happy husky.” If you’re an active, patient human who laughs in the face of chaos and loves a good challenge, Kai might just be your soulmate. Apply to meet him today! Questions? Please email placement@thestreetdogproject.org
