Story
Meet Tia PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. Meet Tia-she needs the best home after living her life chained up in Texas. She is super sweet and loves to be on your lap or getting pets and attention. She is estimated to be about 2 years old and almost 25 pounds, is housebroken (must have been in a house at some point), is playful and lovable but she can be bossy, good with dogs that are submissive but not dogs with strong personalities. Would love to have a fenced yard, would be perfectly happy being the dog in your life. Tia has not had the best life so far, she may need a slow introduction, is treat motivated and will make someone an amazing companion. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Jack, here! I am still working on my commands, but I am definitely looking forward to learning more with my new family. Happy, energetic and excitable is what I'm all about. I LOVE to run around and be outside so if you have a fenced-in yard, I would absolutely love to check it out! I am looking for a home who is interested in having a sweet and social guy like myself who is very active. I love basking in snuggles and couch time, and would love a life filled with just hanging with you! I would be happiest if I went into a home without other animals. Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
This semi-scruffy little man is a true lover! He is like my little shadow. He gets along pretty well with guys and gals his size (the 6 fur-neighbors and crew of 3 at home), but enjoys being the center of attention. Sox prefers to snuggle in bed with his humans but with the crew he is with now there are doggie nights and there are kitty nights. He does love his tiny blue kong chew toy and some other pink chew toy. There is no need ro sneak treats in it. His front teefers might be all gone but the back teeth love the chew toy. Speaking of kitties... he is not afraid to approach them, which is why he spends his time with the doggie crew in the family room unless escorted to another room. "Approach is putting it nicely. Sweet Sox can sleep through the night without any accidents. Because the crew he hangs with lacks some discipline, it is a mystery how well he does when he roams freely, a puddle js a puddle, and none of the crew admits who did it. Sox is a light eater. He can chew some kibble and hard crunchy treats but it is easier to eat soft food. He has feasted on the Purina One Chicken and Brown Rice Tender Cuts in Gravy or their other choice of Beef and Barley Tender Cuts in Gravy. But mostly Sox fills up on The Honest Kitchen Grain Free Chicken Recipe and their turkey version (new on the menu). You might ask how he got his name Tusky. When ge was surrendered he literally had bottom teeth that looked like Tusks! Soon after being saved he visited the vet and was scheduled for teeth extractions! All the front teef are ancient history. Tusky Sox seems rather healthy, however he did test positive for heartworm. He is being treated on a slow treatment, a combination of doxycycline every other 30 days and heart worm chews every 2 weeks! Wrap the doxy in a piece of turkey or other delicious leftover and he is good to go! BTW he answers to Sox, his given name moons ago. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
