Hey there, I’m Racoon! And before you ask… no, I do not steal trash cans or sneak around at night. I do however steal hearts, squeaky toys, and probably your spot on the couch. I’m a scruffy little terrier mix full of happy energy and goofy fun. If there’s a toy nearby, I’m interested. Squeaky toys? YES. Tennis balls? Absolutely. Stuffies? My favorite. Random mystery toy at the bottom of the basket? I’ll test that one too! I’m a friendly boy who loves meeting people, playing with other dogs, and making kids laugh with my silly antics. I’m always ready for adventures, zoomies around the yard, or just hanging out being your adorable scruffy sidekick. Basically, if you’re looking for a fun-loving, happy pup with personality for days and the cutest scruffy face around… I’m your guy! Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

He loves being pet, but most of all LOVES tennis balls that squeak, please buy him some. Story
I always wanted a dog, and Max has been the best companion a first-time owner could ask for. About six years ago, I found him online—he was the last pup from his Jack Russell/Poodle/Pomeranian litter, and I was able to meet both of his parents. Training was a learning curve at first, but we figured it out together. He is fully house-trained, has mostly lived as a city dog, and does well staying home during a typical 9–5 schedule. Max is fun, energetic, and loves being outdoors with his people. He explores the world one sniff at a time. He’s very intelligent, enjoys puzzle toys, and is highly food-motivated. I would describe him as playful, curious, smart, and affectionate. Recently, my life has changed—I’ve moved back home, returned to school, and taken on a busier schedule. With these shifts, I can’t give Max the consistent activity and routine he needs. I’m looking for a loving, active home where he can thrive. He also has had no health issues - I keep him up to date with shots.

Story
***OPIE AND PEARL ARE LOCATED AROUND THE FITZWILLIAM, NH IN A FOSTER HOME AND CAN BE TRANSPORTED BACK DOWN TO WHITE MARSH, MARYLAND TO AN ADOPTER*** Opie and Pearl are 2 gorgeous chi/terrier mix pups that are as sweet as can be. Opie is the male and he weighs approximately 16 lbs. Pearl is the female, and she weighs right at 10 lbs. We believe they were born around September 30th, which will put them around 5.5 months old. We do not believe they will get much bigger than they are now as they have already hit their growth spurt. They are siblings, and they do get along wonderfully, but we do not require them to be adopted together. But if you’re looking for 2 pups, these 2 would make a wonderful pair also. One of our volunteers was driving down the road in Texas, by the Mexico border, when these 2 puppies ran out in the road and almost got ran over. They were not street smart. Our volunteer followed the puppies and found the home they belonged to. We found out these 2 puppies (and the momma dog) belonged to a couple who had gotten them for their adult autistic son. The puppies and mom had never seen a veterinarian, and they did not have a fence to secure them, so they would just open the door and let the dogs out to go running the streets and neighborhood. Thankfully, they agreed to surrender the puppies to us, but unfortunately, they would not let us have the mom. The mom weighed around 18 lbs. These pups are very sweet and start wiggling their butts when they become comfortable with you, which doesn’t take long. They love rolling over for tummy rubs and just melt into you. Opie is a very sweet boy, and much more outgoing than his sister. He loves everyone and everything. He barrels into every room like that room was made specifically for him. The foster describes it as Opie needs to work on his entry; He pounces all over the bed when he announces his arrival. Opie would be perfect for a home that is more a bit more active and wants a dog to go on adventures, play with their children. Don’t be fooled though, Opie loves his cuddles. Pearl is much gentler than Opie. Big love bug. She wants to be next to you and in your lap, curled up and cuddling with you. Pearl loves to be your shadow and be as close to you as you can be. She would prefer someone home more than not. She doesn’t need as much exercise as Opie does, but she does get into her own little mischief. Pearl would be better for someone with slightly older children that are well-behaved and kind. They both want to be in the fosters lap and just get lots of love. They are both very curious pups and love exploring and learning new things. While they are quite different, they are like ying and yang, their personalities just mesh well, and they get along amazing together and love to cuddle with each other. Both Opie and Pearl do wonderful with other dogs and are currently fostered with 3 other small breed adult dogs. They have met cats and do fine with them. They have toys and enjoy playing with them, but they enjoy mischief a little bit more. When they are in their crate, they think the best game is which one can pull more stuff into the crate from outside of the crate. Pearl and Opie love sleeping on the bed/couch! They are crate trained, and working on full house training. If you’re looking for a smaller dog that doesn’t shed too much, enjoy being held, will be the most loyal companions and follow you everywhere and cuddle when you let them, please look no further than Opie or Pearl. Pearl and Opie are spayed/neutered, current on all 4 series of parvo/distemper vaccinations, current on bordatella, current on annual rabies vaccine, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, current on dewormer, microchipped, fecal test is negative, and have received a clean bill of health from a veterinarian. The adoption fee also includes the transport from Texas (where they came from) to the Northeast. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
Bougie Gal!MEET PARIS!  Ms. Paris likes to stay in the Hilton brand when she’s traveling because she loves the finer things in life. Ha! But seriously, she is a fun little dog who enjoys being in loving homes after having served her time in a shelter waiting to be adopted. Once ‘home’, she started being a dog. One that likes to do all the doggy things; like bark out the window, sleep on the couch, pull her owner around the block on walks, and eat all the yummy treats. Unfortunately, her new owner hadn’t had a younger dog in a while (she’s 6 years old) and didn’t account for the energy that a younger dog brings into a home. While not destructive, Paris was too much for her senior owner.  Now in her Tara’s House foster home, Paris is awaiting her furever family. She is still that happy girl who has a zest for life and her energy isn’t any more than average. Her foster mom reports that she is wonderful. (There are no other dogs in the home, but Paris lived with a senior cat at her adoptive home and was fine with it.) Outside the home; she is more high-strung because she didn’t have the strong leadership that her insecurities required. She also had been living the high life a little too long and needs to shed a few pounds. She currently weighs in at 24lbs, but don’t let her know we told you!  To that end, our wonderful partners at Ridgeside K9 Central MD will take Paris for their board and train program. There she will learn consistency and obedience, and will have all the foundations needed for future success. Paris’ future adopters will have a fabulously trained dog and will receive guidance on how to continue her on her learning path. Paris’ adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for her by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.March 9, 2026, 12:19 pm

Story
Minnie is a happy playful girl at just over one year old and 28 pounds. She came to PAW labeled as Border Collie, but her foster thinks she is more Jack Russell Terrier mixed with some kind of retriever that gives her a beautiful coat. In her foster home, she has two dogs to play with--and she loves to play. She would probably do best in a home where she has another resident dog, and a fenced-in yard where she can run. When she tires out from all that play, she loves to lie in your lap or on your foot. Minnie will "follow you around and will lean into you or attempt to sit on part of you if you are still," says her foster. She wants to be with her person/people all of the time! She trusts her person and will let him/her take things from her that she shouldn't have. Minnie loves her toys and will run around the house with them, chewing them, tossing them in the air, and bringing them to her foster to engage.  She is working on leash training every day. She is very smart and motivated by treats, so she's been quick to learn and she wants to please. She is always very friendly and affectionate with everyone when not being held back by a leash. Her housetraining is also improving but may need some work and reinforcement. Like any young dog, she likes to chew but an assortment of hard chew toys in her foster home has kept her occupied and out of trouble. Minnie would do well in a home where she can be walked with regularity and given playtime and training. Her foster believes that she wold be fine with respectful kids over five-years old. She can be a "bull in a china shop" at times and would possibly step on or knock over smaller ones.  Minnie can be afraid of a quick approach, and needs a stable and calm home, one in which she can feel safe. That being said, she warms up quickly and then sweetly trusts. Minnie has visited the foster's neighbor, who has a cat, and although it was sleeping upstairs Minnie sniffed all of the cat stuff (beds, scratch pads, etc) with casual interest…..far different than the fixed, assertive stance she takes when near the scent of a squirrel, so she may be able to cohabitate with felines, but we are not yet sure. Minnie is a fun dog to be around. She is very agile, and can leap and run, so she is a perfect candidate for agility training. If you want a loving, energetic companion, Minnie is the perfect dog for you. PAW adopts in the MD, northern VA, DC, southern PA region. ##2627837##

However, I am not a fan of strangers in my home or on walks, and I can be protective of my people. I prefer slow introductions and I'll be fine once I get to know you.      My ideal home would be a rural one with a fenced yard. I am well behaved in the house and crate trained.  I’m eager to please and I like to learn. Honestly, I just want someone to love full time and I hope that person is you.  Apply today and come meet me ASAP!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Oh so small in size, but big with life and love, Milkshake loves to play and at barely a year old should have a long life to prance at your side and play with you happily in the yard, the park, or anywhere you want to go. If you go there, she will be overjoyed to be at your side. At only 13 lbs., she will fit well into a backpack or a front snuggly. Extra outgoing and friendly, she loves the whole world. For you, of course, she will reserve a very special love that will last a lifetime and then some. You can count on her to greet your friends with tail wags. Sometimes, when she is extra pleased, her tail looks like a windmill in a stiff breeze! If you want to bring warmth, joy and happiness into your life, Milkshake is your girl. Come meet her and see for yourself. Milkshake is working on housetraining and will need continued training with leash and harness. She didn't have any training in her previous home. She has some crate anxiety when left alone, so she would prefer to go to a home with another dog or a person who is home most of the time. A fenced in yard is preferred since she doesn't like the leash yet.   If you are interested in Milkshake, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 9, 2026, 9:17 pm

Meet your shadow, your hype man, and your personal cuddle bug all rolled into one tiny, wiggly puppy. this little guy decided he had one full-time job: never let you out of his sight. Bathroom? He’s there. Kitchen? Right behind you. Sitting down for two seconds? Boom—he’s already curled up at your feet. But the real magic happens the moment you say his name, he transforms into a full-blown spazoid. No matter how many times you call him, it never gets old—he celebrates you like it’s the best moment of his life by dancing at your feet. He gets along good with other dogs but prefers to have his space unless he goes to them to play, he also is great with cats. Spencer is crate trained & still learning leash manners but almost there. He also is potty trained but will have accidents in the house still. Fun fact: he’ll twist his head at pretty much any sound or word you say. Ready to be shadowed by this cutie? Adopt him!! Sweet momma, Utopia, and her five day old pups were hours away from being euthanized in a small Texas animal shelter before they were rescued. Momma was scared and protective of her babies for a few days until she realized they were safe. Now she is a total lovebug! Utopia needs a patient family. She is shy and will take some time and lots of treats to be comfortable in her new home. She would do best with another confident dog to show her the ropes. She loves to run and play with other dogs so acclimating with them should be no problem. She is also cat friendly. Utopia does well in the car and walks great on a leash. She's ready for adventure and a love that lasts forever! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX adoption only)

Benji is a sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, his loving personality quickly shines through. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like walking on a leash and discovering how amazing beds and toys can be. If you have a soft spot for scruffy, adorable boys and a heart for helping a pup continue to blossom, Benji is ready to find his forever home and be your loyal little companion Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)
