Story
If you are in search of a loving, yet active little dog, then you have found just the right girl!  Bonnie is a young, one year old, 18 pound, Jack Russell who is spunky and happy and oh so cuddly.  She is the total package of smart, quick to learn, and easy to love.  Bonnie is a little shy when you first meet her, but we guarantee she will warm up fast. She loves to play with other dogs and pull out all the toys at the foster home. And what a cuddle bug she is who longs to be someone’s very special little girl.  She is still working on her house training, but is crate trained for short periods.  No, 8 hour long crate time will work for her.  As you can imagine with an active dog, a fenced in yard would work best.  Bonnie would also love to have her new family home most of the time because she loves her people.  We are recommending that she be with an active family as she loves to see new sights and is ready for travel adventures and car rides.  She is on the go and ready to love you!  Bonnie is your girl if you are checking all her boxes.  Please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Please mention where you live:  city and state.  She is currently in Nashville, Tn with Critter Cavalry Rescue and we transport to the northeast on weekend.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 11, 2025, 10:23 pm

Ike and his siblings (Baby DeeDee, Baby Mike and Baby Dexter) came to K-9 Lifesavers from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. Their mom is an adorable wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier mix (picture included). While Ike has loved spending time with his siblings and mom, he is ready to find a home of his very own. Ike is a very sweet, loving and playful puppy. He adores everyone he meets, human and canine alike. At his young age, Ike is in his prime for training and socialization too. If you are looking to add a puppy to your family, look no further than Ike. Submit an application today!  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Meet Anemone! This sweet 1-year-old Jack Russell/Boxer mix is the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly affection. Weighing in at around 30 pounds, Anemone is just the right size for all kinds of adventures, whether it’s playing fetch, chasing after toys, or just lounging on the couch with his favorite humans. Anemone was adopted as a puppy from a local shelter and was found as a stray at 1 yr old. After his previous owner never came forward to claim him we learned that he was heartworm and erlichia positive. He has been through treatment and will have no lasting effects. He’s a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, so if you’ve got a furry friend at home, he’ll fit right in! Anemone absolutely thrives on attention from his people—he’s always ready for rubs and playtime. If you aren’t paying attention to him he uses his Boxer hands to grab your arm for pets! He’s got a heart full of love to give and is looking for a family who will share in his excitement for life. Anemone is located in Texas. His adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip and neuter. If you are interested in Anemone please complete an adoption application at the link below.
