Story
Biscuit has been my loving companion for the past three years, coming into my life after the heartbreaking loss of my youngest son in 2020. He was a precious gift meant to bring comfort during a difficult time, and he has done just that. Biscuit is a playful, energetic, and exceptionally smart Jack Russell who loves to run and explore. His spirited nature and speed could even make him a wonderful candidate for racing or agility training. Sadly, I am relocating to Tennessee and cannot take him with me. This has been a very hard decision, as I love him deeply. My hope is to find Biscuit a new home where he will be truly loved, have room to run, and receive the affection he thrives on. He adores children and is happiest when he can be close to people. Biscuit deserves a caring family who will give him the attention, guidance, and joyful life he was born for.

Story
There’s something so special about Shania — something that can’t quite be captured in a photo. At just 9 months old and 12 pounds, this Parsons Terrier/Westie mix has already been through more than most dogs her age, yet she radiates quiet hope and sweetness. When you first meet her, she may hang back a little, unsure of what to expect. But once she realizes you’re kind, she softens — her tail gives a shy wag, and her eyes begin to sparkle. You can almost see her heart opening up as she learns to trust. That’s Shania’s magic — she doesn’t just love; she chooses you, one gentle moment at a time. Shania loves other dogs and would thrive in a home where she can have a friendly canine companion or calm human friends to help her continue to blossom. She’d do best with older children or adults, as younger ones have been unkind to her in the past. She deserves a peaceful, loving home where she can feel safe and cherished. She’s fully vetted, spayed, and ready to begin her new life — one filled with kindness, stability, and love. Shania’s foster family says everyone who meets her is captivated by her tender personality and soulful spirit. This little treasure is ready to start fresh and discover what it feels like to be truly loved. If you can give her that gift, she’ll return it tenfold. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Shania. She’s in Tennessee and can travel north on one of our weekend transports. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 16, 2025, 12:23 am

Story
Hi, I'm Peanut Jack Russell Terrier Corgi | Adult | Male | Small About Me Meet Peanut, a fun-pooch with an awesome personality that’s sure to steal your heart! Peanut was adopted a year ago, but his owner had to return to the office and poor Peanut was being crated for 10 hour stretches! Peanut is loving and sweet but really comes alive during playtime! He’d be a great mate for an active, energetic kid or three! Peanut’s sturdily built and has some quite gymnastic moves. He loves playing with squeaky toys and running around in the backyard or walking the neighborhood. Peanut is very popular at dog daycare and is a favorite playmate for the energetic! He has a very intelligent and extremely curious personality. Peanut spends most days playing, napping, and repeating. Peanut has done a great job learning not to jump on people and he’s picked up on house manners quickly. He’s very treat-motivated, so he picks up commands very quickly. Peanut would do very well in an active household and would make a perfect hiking/trail companion due to his athleticism and curious personality! My Profile Age: 4 years old Weight: 23 pounds Good with kids: Yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Yes. Crate trained: Yes Activity level: Medium-High Meet Me If you are interested in Peanut, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org/adopt. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Peanut will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.

However, I am not a fan of strangers in my home or on walks, and I can be protective of my people. I prefer slow introductions and I'll be fine once I get to know you.      My ideal home would be a rural one with a fenced yard. I am well behaved in the house and crate trained.  I’m eager to please and I like to learn. Honestly, I just want someone to love full time and I hope that person is you.  Apply today and come meet me ASAP!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Please contact Nancy Anderson (nancya@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl ISO happily ever after! SNOW NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Snow and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (11/9) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Rockville, MD (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!     Name:   Snow            Best Guess for Breed:   Jack Russell terrier and chihuahua mix    Best Guess for Age:   6 months as of November 2025           SEX:  Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  8.8 lbs as of 11/2/25   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:   Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Snow is Looking For:    Her forever home! This sweetie has enjoyed living in a shelter foster home with her foster puppy buddies Babs and Gena but they're all ready to move on and get their own forever homes! Snow wants one where she gets to go on sniffy walks and adventures with her own humans, make pup pals along the way - and start and end every day with lots of love and snuggles and belly scratches! Going to dog school would be great, too, so she can show how super smart she is.  Most of all - she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is she the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent time in foster care here Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
