Story
Due to my son’s sudden death last year, I need to find a home for his 14 YO lab. I travel, & can’t keep him. He’s alone in a fenced in backyard, being fed, etc., by a neighbor. He just wants to be loved on, & gets along with cats, other dogs, & children.

Story
Pilar is a beautiful Labrador/Husky mix who will turn two years old in June, and she is truly one of a kind. She has a joyful, playful spirit and a naturally loyal heart that makes her an incredible companion. Pilar thrives in open spaces where she can run, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. She’s happiest when she has room to stretch her legs, chase a ball, or simply feel the breeze while she plays. She doesnt require much beyond her basic needs and a safe environment where she can be active. Pilar bonds deeply once she feels comfortable, and she appreciates patience and gentle introductions, especially when meeting new dogs. With the right family, she will blossom into the most devoted, loving friend. I will be relocating in June for a job in North Carolina , and unfortunately I wont be able to provide the space she needs to live her best life. My hope is to find her a home where she can continue to thrive, stay active, and be surrounded by people who appreciate her sweet nature! ❤

Harley is a great dog! She’s friendly with children and all people. She has puppy energy even though she’s 5yrs old. Harley does cause us allergies especially our newest addition to the family. Her pet dander and a new baby makes it difficult. Harley loves her pig ear and other chews. Loves to play fetch and chase balls. A car ride or walk in neighborhood is her favorite. She does well at dog parks and pet daycares.

Story
Meet your wonderfully complicated little lovebug, a dog who contains multitudes. She came to us because her previous family’s schedule changed and they didn’t have the time she deserved. Adopted from a shelter/rescue in 2020, she has lived in a home with children and already knows the “home life” routine. She’s housebroken, does well being crated when her people are away, and seems to understand how to settle once she knows the rules. On the personality front, she’s a fun mix: smart and protective, friendly but a bit shy at first, independent yet cuddly, and yes, sometimes stubborn and a little clingy (the classic “I’ll do it my way… but also please sit next to me forever” vibe). Once she trusts you, she’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of your everyday moments. With other dogs, she’s selective. She can get along well with the right dog friends, but she’s not a “besties with everyone at the party” type. On walks, she may bark at cats and dogs, so she’ll do best with a patient adopter who can help her practice calm, confident leash manners.

Story
Slurpee is a young guy (born in late 2024) who would love a home with someone who can work with him and help him feel safe. He has lived with other dogs and would do best in an adult-only home because he sometimes has stranger-danger confusion and can be protective of his human. He had to come back to PAWS from his adoptive home after a few months because he was guarding his human too zealously and feeling the need to protect the owner from his/her friends and strangers alike. Our shelter trainer MarLee has been working with Slurpee, and would like to work with his new foster/adopter and Slurpee to help him master the skills he needs to safely transition into a new home. He is a work-in-progress, but, we feel hopeful he can find his best fit. If you are open to a happy, loyal young guy who is still learning, and you are open to working with our trainer (at no cost to you), we would love to talk to you about Slurpee. Our plan would be for you to foster him first, which would give you time to train with MarLee and make sure Slurpee is the right fit for you.
