Onyx loves cuddles, bones, treats, naps, squeaky toys, and playing outside. He’s a fast learner and already knows how to sit. He thrives best in an environment where he can run and play. Having a fenced backyard or trips to the park is a plus. Onyx is a perfect companion to those who love cuddles with their dogs. He occasionally loves to run around.

Story
Hi! I'm Fancy! Well for now at least. I am not really a "fancy", but my foster mom isn't sure what my name SHOULD be yet and honestly, I'm just happy to be around her so I don't care what she calls me. I will LITERALLY answer to ANY name she calls me! I am a young girl, probably 2-3 years old or so. I weigh 33 pounds and am full grown. I appear to be something called a "Labrador" and a "Whippet". I don't know what that means, but I am a petite muscular girl and I am super athletic. I LOVE my people, but I am scared of strangers. See at one point, I taken in by someone who kept a bunch of dogs and loved us, but couldn't care for us. I was not spayed and so I got pregnant and had to have my babies outside. When my owner had to move, me, my 6 babies, and my 30 or so fellow dogs had to find new places to live. Thankfully FHS was able to take my family and 7 other dogs in. My puppies were all adopted and now it is my turn. However, I had lost my trust of people. I am gaining it back, one person at a time. Once I am comfortable with you and at home, I am HAPPY! I love to play in the yard and run zoomies outside. I am a snuggler and I love scratches from my people. I am very treat motivated and I know exactly what time breakfast and dinner is. I love my fluffy blankets and I will stare my foster mom if my blanket is in the wash. I also LOVE exploring new places , hiking, and going on car rides. I enjoy playing with other dogs and, while I do not need another dog in my forever home, I would do best with a housemate. I do get nervous when my family leaves me behind (I do fine in a crate, but I will bark), but if I have a housemate nearby I am happy. I am not sure if I am good around cats or kids yet. I am mostly housetrained, but I will need a family who can keep on top of it for me. If I need to go and no one is around to listen to my signals, then I will go in my house. I do NEED a fenced in yard. I am very loyal to my person, but I can get scared of new things and new noises so it is safest if I can have a fenced in yard while I am outside. Story
Meet Biscotti! Biscotti is a 6-month-old Labrador mix from the "Yellow Litter," and this sweet boy has already shown just how resilient he is. Some of you may remember him from earlier this year after he suffered a gunshot wound to his back left leg. After undergoing an amputation, Biscotti recovered beautifully and has embraced life as a happy, playful tripod pup! Weighing 35 pounds now, Biscotti is expected to mature into a handsome 50 ish pound adult. (He lost about 8 pounds due to his leg amputation). While he enjoys playing with his canine friends and still has plenty of puppy energy, he has a nice off-switch and is happy to relax and cuddle when playtime is over. He does not mind spending the workday at home, but like any young dog, he will need daily exercise, walks, and enrichment to help him continue growing into a well-rounded adult. We think that he will do great with kids and cats! Don't let his missing leg fool you—Biscotti gets around wonderfully! He runs, jumps, plays, gets on and off the couch, and does all the normal puppy things without missing a beat. His amputation does not slow him down at all. Biscotti loves toys, soft cozy beds, and all the affection he can get. He is crate trained and settles nicely in his crate. While he is not fully house trained yet, he has made significant progress and continues to improve. He may occasionally submissive pee in new situations or when he's feeling unsure, so he will benefit from a patient family that will continue building his confidence. His calm, easygoing nature makes us think he would do wonderfully with children and likely with cats as well. Despite everything he has been through, Biscotti remains incredibly loving, gentle, and sweet-natured. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an affectionate pup with a resilient spirit and a heart of gold. If you are interested in adopting Biscotti, please fill out an application at: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog Applications can take anywhere from 5–7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. Story
My dog has been an important part of my life and family. She has brought me a lot of happiness, companionship, and unconditional love through both good times and difficult times. She is a loyal, loving dog who enjoys being around people and deserves a home where she can continue to receive the care and attention she needs. She is approximately 6 years old, healthy, and has been with me since she was a puppy. Making the decision to rehome her has been one of the hardest choices I’ve ever had to make. Due to my current circumstances, I can no longer provide the stability and care that she deserves. This decision comes from wanting what is best for her, not because she has done anything wrong. My hope is that she finds a safe, loving home with someone who will cherish her as much as I have. She has been a wonderful companion, and I will always be grateful for the memories we’ve shared. Thank you for considering giving her a new opportunity and a loving future.
