Story
Hi there! My name is Emmy and I'm looking for my forever home with someone that can be patient with me. I'm a bit shy at first and may new a few days to learn that I'm safe and can relax.  Once I'm comfortable with my new surroundings, I will relax and want to cuddle, take walks and play in the back yard. I'm good with people & kids and once we bond I'm  playful and loving! I'm with a trainer now and learning basic obedience, loose leash heeling, off leash recall and good manners inside the home and in the public.  After being a little shy at first, she quickly gets over this and becomes very loving and trusted with all people and kids. Because of her initial shyness, she should be with someone who has owned dogs before and can be patienbt as Emmy gains confidence and comes out of her shell. Emmy would be a great dog to be at home and go for walks. She is capable but needs patience in the public and on walks, to work on her fear and confidence boosting. Emmy has some prey drive and should not be homed with very small dogs, any cats or small animals.   Emmy is up to date on all my shots and I'm spayed, vaccinated, chipped, is approx. over 1 year old. This beautiful Lab/Doberman mix girl walks on leash.  Emmy needs a gentle and patient soul to be patient as she begings to feel safe with her new family. Emmy has gone through a basic training program! In this program she has learned proper heeling on a leash, basic obedience, place command, off leash recall, people and dog socialization, kennel/potty training and more! After adoption process is finalized, the new owners will work with the trainer 1-on-1 for 2 hours to learn what Emmy has learned in the program and how to keep up with training after going home. This will all be included in your adoption fee! ##1862108##

Story
Nala... This girl has the most soulful eyes ever. There is a reason for that... Nala had been spotted by a kind family at a park that is known as an area where dogs are dumped. Nala was dumped with her 3 pups. Nala would not let anyone near her nor her pups. So, Nala would wander the park and surrounding areas with her pups. The family would leave her food every day. As the days went by, the family noticed that some of Nala's pups were no longer with her. Perhaps some one plucked one up. Or perhaps they died. No one knows. What we do know, is that once it was just Nala, she was more willing to trust the family. The mother would spend some time each day feeding her and sitting there and talking to her in order to gain Nala's trust. And eventually, she did. At that point, Nala was a completely different dog. She was very much willing to be with a family. A.M.O.R. was asked to help Nala. And we did. Nala is a sweet and quiet girl. She is super duper chill. She is not interested in high energy pups nor dogs. She is EXCELLENT in her kennel. She walks very well on leash. Has never made potty in her kennel. She sits quietly watching everything around her. She does not bark much either - inside nor outside. Nala enjoys the company of her people and the company of other confident, calm, and quiet dogs. Once she goes outside, she is quick about going to do her potty business. Then she casually eats her lunch. She does not like for the other dogs to be close to her when she is eating. You really can't blame her since she didn't have food for herself and her babies - she hasn't yet forgotten those hungry days. Nala is confident and enjoys hanging outside by herself as well. She enjoys the breeze, the sun, the swaying trees, etc. Not much bothers this girl. It makes us wonder what she could be thinking.... Nala is certainly ready to be in her own home. Are you the home and family that she wistfully is thinking of when she is looking far off into the trees? All of Nala's vetting has been done by my personal dogs' vet. The following is a list of what has been done for her... Spayed 2 - DA2PP shots (Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis), Parvo, and Parainfluenza) Bordatella shot Rabies shot Dewormed Tested, Treated (if needed), and retested for giardia and coccidia Iverhart heartworm preventative Simparica fleas and ticks preventative Chipped There are two categories of vaccines: “core” vaccines that are recommended for all pets, and “non-core vaccines” which may be recommended by your vet based on lifestyle and exposure risk. The core vaccine for dogs is the Rabies vaccine, which is required by law. The second core vaccine for dogs is often referred to as the DA2PP or DHPP vaccine. This stands for “Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis), Parvo, and Parainfluenza”, meaning that this vaccine protects against FOUR different diseases. It is especially important for puppies to begin a series of DA2PP vaccines at six to eight weeks of age, as natural immunity obtained from the mother decreases and puppies become very susceptible to potentially life-threatening diseases such as Canine Parvovirus (Parvo). Parvo is transmitted through feces and can remain in the environment for at least one month, and up to a year if the conditions are right. This means that puppies do not need to be directly exposed to another dog that has Parvo in order to contract the disease, and caution is advised when choosing where and how to socialize and exercise your pup. We recommend avoiding exposure to unknown dogs or public places until your puppy has finished their vaccine series. BUT, all A.M.O.R. puppies (1 year old and less) have all FOUR shots. They are safe to join you and your family on your outdoor adventures and you can rest at ease. Non-core vaccines for dogs include Bordetella, Influenza, Leptospirosis and Lyme. The Bordetella (aka: Kennel Cough) help to prevent highly-contagious respiratory diseases, and are essential for dogs that may be exposed to other dogs, especially in group settings such as dog parks, daycare, or boarding facilities. All A.M.O.R. dogs and puppies are given a Bordatella vaccine. Bordatella boosters are given every 6 months. https://www.thedrakecenter.com/services/dogs/parasites/deworming-dogs The above link is to provide you information regarding why deworming is so important for all dogs of all ages (and for their families). All A.M.O.R.s are dewormed upon entering the rescue and then again 5 days before their health certificate visit (when they have been adopted and ready to travel). This dewormer is issued per our vet. And all pets are tested, treated (if needed), and retested for coccidia and giardia. A.M.O.R. provides you with this information so that you can be aware of the work and love that is given to each pet. Each puppy has visited the vet AT LEAST 5 times during their stay with us. They have seen the vet 4 times for their shots and will see the vet 1-2 more times prior to transport in order to obtain a health certificate for travel. Adult dogs have seen the vet AT LEAST 3 times. Two visits for their shots and 1-2 visits prior to transport in order to obtain a health certificate. Are you ready to have a wonderful lifetime companion in Nala??? All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health). Please email for an A.M.O.R. application in order to be considered. Please note: this pet is located out of state.

Story
My Requirements:-No cats-Kids 5+Hi, I'm Dakota and I'm so happy to meet you! I'm an energetic yellow lab mix who loves people and other dogs. I'm exactly what you think of when you picture a lab- smart, extroverted and goofy. My energy level is puppy and since I'm a lab, I'm going to be puppy-like for a while. I'm always up for playing tug, chase or going for a long walk. I already know how to sit and down, and since I'm food motivated, training should be fun for everyone. My new home can have other dogs, but it can't have cats. I can live with kids, but I might be too much for those 5 and under. If you've been looking for a fun new friend, you've found her!

Story
Hi, I'm Bernice and I'm so happy to meet you! You probably will notice my piercing blue eyes at first, but the real deal is my wiggle butt. It wiggles all the time. My personality is affectionate and playful. My energy level is medium - high while I play with my human and dog friends, After I'm done playing or walking, I usually look out the window, lay down for a nap, or just chill. I love everybody! Speaking of love, I will likely lick you when I meet you. My foster dad is happy I am house trained. I walk great around the neighborhood with my foster dad and his dog. My new home can have other dogs, cats, and kids. My foster dad is working on my jumping up on people so I am not sure if i would be the best around toddlers that I could probably knock over...all in fun of course! Instead of jumping, my foster dad has me almost sitting for my food. If you've been looking for a fun, loving new furry family member, that's me! Send in an application today!

Story
Theresa is 1 year and 4 months old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, is heartworm negative, and on prevention. Theresa is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, plays well with other dogs, never meets a stranger, is gentle, and very affectionate. This sweet girl is queen of the side eye and just oh so precious. She has traveled with her foster family from Mobile, AL to Wyoming and had a blast. She met so many people and pups and loved them all. She does have a habit of giving hugs but they are so gentle they have been welcomed. Theresa is a sweet and gentle soul looking for someone to call her own. Theresa is happy to stay home and chill, go for a walk, visit a local brewery, take a 4000 mile road trip, play in the backyard, visit a dog park and play with friends, or watch a movie. The person or family that adopts Theresa will get a real gem. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
