Story
Hi everyone my name Lino, short for “Piccolino” which means little guy. I am about 9 weeks old and truly all puppy. I am a well rounded boy, 1 minute I am as sweet as pie... and then the next minute full of puppy energy and ready to play. I do love to lay and cuddle, I love being around my people all the time. I even go as far to follow them where ever they go. I love my foster brother siblings Leo and Cash, they keep me occupied and busy playing. I know I look little but I hold my own playing, Im pretty spunky like that. I'm working on potty training and basic puppy training, its going well but slow. You see i would just prefer play. I have learned how to use this thing that flaps out and it lets me out in the yard to do my business. I have even learned how to climb steps to go upstairs. Lino has his 1st vet appointment with our vet this Friday, so we will have more information to share He has had his 1st round of distemper and deworm and started on prevention If interested in meeting me please email my rescue at rescue@atailof4paws.org or fill out an application from their website Www.atailof4paws.org

Story
Bear is 6 years old. His birthday is Feb. 1st 2020. He is so sweet and love and full of energy. He’s been part of our family for 5 years after we adopted him from a dog shelter in NC. He’s been thought multiple cross country moves with us and we’ve tried our hardest to make him always feel loved and appreciated. But after this last cross country move from TX all the way to IL it comes with a heavy heart that we have realized we can no longer show him the love he needs. Bear has a lot of energy and is great with young children but we are just never home since moving to IL. He needs a family that can spend time with him play with him and take him on walks. We are no longer able to do any of that and we feel horrible for it. So if you believe you can love bear and welcome him in your family please take care of him and make him happy again.

Story
Harley is a sweet three-year-old Lab mix who was recently surrendered to our facility after her family lost their home. She was originally adopted from us as a young adult, and while we’re sad to see her back, we’re grateful she was part of such a loving home where she was well cared for and socialized. Harley is a friendly, well-mannered girl who truly enjoys being around people. She has experience living in a family setting and does wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children, making her an easy addition to many types of households. Playtime is one of Harley’s favorite parts of the day. She loves toys of all kinds—especially Kongs, sticks, and tennis balls—and is always ready for a game of fetch or some interactive fun. Harley is ready for a fresh start and can’t wait to find a forever home filled with love, stability, and plenty of playtime. Her adoption fee is $200, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Call our office for adoption details at 815-725-0333. Located in Joliet, IL

Story
1 year old • Male • Black Lab Mix (fun-size edition)   Meet Tree — a pocket-sized Lab mix with a gentle soul and a soft, observant nature. He may be small for a Lab, but he’s got a whole lot of love packed into him.   The Highlights • Sprinkled with tiny white specks throughout his coat — like he’s been dusted with stars • Fun size Lab: compact, adorable, and fully equipped with all the love in a more portable package • Fully house trained and crate trained (a respectful king) • Certified snuggle bug   Personality & Needs Tree is a shy, sensitive boy who’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary. He’s especially unsure around other dogs and new environments, so he’ll need a patient home willing to go slow with introductions. With time, consistency, and kindness, he’ll absolutely blossom.   Favorite Things • Watching planes in the sky (yes, really) • Treats and snacks - this boy is highly food motivated and eager to please • Cozy spots and safe people   Ideal Home A calm, patient home that can give Tree the time and space he needs to build confidence. Slow introductions to new people, dogs, and surroundings will be key to helping him feel secure.   If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who just needs a bit of patience to shine, Tree might be your guy   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Story
Mary is a 40 lb. Lab/Terrier mix is equal parts spunky and sweet, and she's on the lookout for her forever family! She was born in approx. November of 2024. Mary is a playful pup who absolutely loves romping around with the resident dog in her foster home. She plays hard, wrestles joyfully, and is always up for a game of tug or a shared snuggle. She gets along great with other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine sibling who can match her energy and help her learn the ropes. She's also house-trained and crate-trained, though she does have some crate-related quirks. Mary tends to get protective of her space and isn’t a fan of people approaching her crate unless it’s time to let her out. Outside of the crate, she’s been social, loving, and well-mannered around both adults and kids (ages 10 and up). Mary is still a young pup, so she’s working on her manners—like keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting people and learning not to “surf” the table for snacks. She knows “sit,” comes when called (most of the time!), and is starting to follow her foster brother’s lead in ringing the bells to go outside… though sometimes it’s just a clever way to distract him and sneak a toy. She may bark for a few seconds when new people arrive—but she’s a smart girl, and her foster family is working on building her confidence through training and consistency. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and clever young dog to grow and learn with, Mary could be the perfect match! She’ll do best in a home that’s ready to continue her training, offers some structure, and ideally has a friendly dog to play with. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Domino is a happy, playful 1-year-old hound/lab mix who’s ready to bring a whole lot of joy to his future family. Weighing about 35 pounds, he’s the perfect size for both adventures and couch cuddles. Domino is incredibly social, sweet, and smart. He loves being around people and thrives on interaction and play. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and even does well with cats, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. Because of his age and energy level, Domino would do best with an active family who’s excited to include him in their daily lives — whether that’s walks, hikes, outings, or playtime in the yard. He’s eager to learn, ready to bond, and would love a family who enjoys staying on the move. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion to join you on all of life’s adventures, Domino might just be your perfect match If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  .
