Meet Bebe! She’s proof positive that you’re never too old to begin a new chapter. This darling girl finds herself looking for a new home because her owner is terminally ill and closest family members are allergic. At 12-13 years old and very overweight, this poses a bit of a challenge. But here's the good news, our Bebe is full of light and love and ENERGY. So we're looking at her current situation like a caterpillar in a cocoon just waiting to come out and fly. Her theme song is Patti LaBelle’s “New Attitude.” (We hope that doesn’t date us.) Currently she's a 40lb dog stuck inside a 50lb body and she's eager to shed the excess weight and start this next phase of her life. She has Cushings disease and will need to continue her medication to control it. Bebe has good house manners and has left most things alone. She plays with toys if you'll play with her and lives for belly rubs. She knows basic commands but can also be a little headstrong. She LOVES her walks or even just time meandering around the backyard. As the weight is falling off, she’s also starting zooms around the house and lots of play time. She’s definitely feeling herself! She is 99% house trained but has had a few accidents from stress. She wants to know where you are in the house and if she can't find you, she may stress pee. This has been mitigated by talking to her from wherever I am. She is also crate trained. She does well with most other dogs so far. She’s generally fine with them until they gruff at her. She’s a bit alpha in her play so would recommend pairing her with a more submissive dog. I’m excited to get to know her more and for you to join us on this journey. We'll be highlighting her weight loss journey along the way, which will be great for us both! Mammy Chikki is a very sweet dog who had a very rough time on the streets of India. She had to fight off monkeys and other dogs while trying to get food in a very hostile environment where people were trying to kill her because she was pregnant. My foster friends rescued her just in time and now she is in the land of opportunities with two of her puppies. Mammy will need to be the only dog in the house as she is scared of other dogs, and of cars in particular, due to people trying to run her down in India. She is ready to please, play, go for a walk, or just sit on the couch watching TV while chewing a Yak Cheese Chew, or any treat. She can be a finicky eater, and does not like dry food mixed with wet food. She needs a quiet home with a loving patient family that is able to understand her background. As a result of her experience on the streets, she shows some sign of PTSD as she is afraid of loud noise, screaming and hard environments. Mammy’s dream home will be with a nice quiet lady or mellow gentleman able to provide love, reassurance and trust in her new life. Namaste! Van is the rock star of dogs.  He is a showstopper!  But we all know it isn't (just) about looks - and Van has the whole package.  He is sweet, loving, smart and adores humans and dogs.  At a year old and 32 pounds, Van is a great size and age to join your household!  Van's foster tells us he’s such a smart pup and knows sit, down, crawl, paw, touch, find, and spin. He’s working on “eyes on me,” follow, place, and stay. When he gets wound up, he responds to “get it together.” If you tell him “get your toy” he’s able to redirect himself the majority of the time.  He is housebroken and will put himself in the crate when he needs a little downtime.  He’s been very friendly with dogs of all sizes and he wants to play with every dog he meets. He can get a bit overexcited during play but responds very well when a dog corrects him.  He is working on learning to sit and stay calm when a dog passes him while on a walk. URGENT - needs foster! Meet Chuck – A PAW FAVORITE, Chuck is a loving boy with personality to spare!  Chuck is a handsome, playful 2-year-old brindle boy, who LOVES to play with other dogs. He is super patient with his canine friends, even littles! Weighing in at around 60 pounds Chuck is bursting with love. Despite his young age, Chuck developed cataracts and lost his vision—but thanks to the amazing team at PAW, he’s had eye surgery and is now discovering the world with fresh, bright eyes and a nose for fun. Because of his limited vision early in life, Chuck can be a little tentative when meeting new people. But he warms up quickly and shows his goofy, sweet, and fun-loving personality! He absolutely loves going for walks, exploring the yard, and doing zoomies (watch his video—it's guaranteed to make you smile). He’s patient, smart (he knows "sit" and is learning "down"), eager to please, and already crate trained and housebroken. Chuck would be fine as an only dog but he would love a brother or sister! Chuck is also very social—great with other dogs and people. His favorite things include peanut butter, music, ear scratches, and nose rubs. This oversized cuddlebug thrives on love and companionship and would make a wonderful addition to just about any family—especially one with another dog, as he’s been thriving in a foster home with canine pals. URGENT - Needs foster!  Meet Darling Bobby – a big SMUSH wanting to give you kisses!! **SENIOR** This sweet boy is a gentle soul who wants a home (and people) to call his own.  He LOVES people!  He is a volunteer favorite - all he wants is to give love and kisses to all people - kids included. If you want a well trained dog who can relax in the home and needs a relatively low level of exercise - consider the Bobster!  Bobby is 6 years old and only 60 pounds.  He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows many commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “wait.”  He has been attending class to learn how to walk better on the leash and ignore distractions - and he has been a star student!   Good boy Bobby enjoys playing in a yard and is an expert at fetch - sometimes with more than one ball at a time - and sometimes he doesn’t want to give them up (check out his video).  He is quite the snuggle bunny and will follow you around the house and patiently wait for you to give him attention.  He also loves to keep you company for car rides and walks in the woods or around a lake where he can sniff all the smells and dream of catching squirrels.
