Bella is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Bella is a gentle, sweet girl who loves to be with her people. Her leash manners are impeccable, and on walks, she can see cars and people without any reactivity. She loves a long, slow walk where she can sniff to her hearts desire but she can also pick up the pace and go for a jog! Bella loves treats and takes them gently from your hand. Her favorite snack to keep her occupied is a bully stick! Bella also loves squeaky toys and will even entertain herself with them some times. Bella sleeps in her crate at night, and is working on house training and is making wonderful progress! She has had success when on a routine. ATTRIBUTES: Bella has done well interacting with other dogs. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Lilly is a courtesy posting from our community, for more information or inquiries to adopt, please contact emily.thorstad@gmail.com. Lilly was adopted out from a rural Kentucky shelter, however returned 6 months later when the owners realized puppies need to get their energy out. Because they are out of space, she was set to be euthanized 12/23 until her foster in NoVa stepped in. Lilly is a love bug who wants nothing more than to please her family. She loves to cuddle, play with her foster brother, chew on dog appropriate toys, play fetch, and learn new tricks for treats! Lilly is also amazing with kids, and has met babies (3 months old) to 10 year olds. Did I mention she loves to cuddle even with kids? She is still a puppy so she is learning not to jump up or nibble with excitement. She is a very fast learner and knows to sit before her meals. Lilly does best with male dogs that are not too dominant, as she will stand up for herself. She has been around her ornery foster's beagle mix, and she just steers clear. The 'but' about Lilly is that she is not good on leash right now. She is reactive but has never bit, just barks. With the weather and when she came to her foster home, leash walking hasn't been a huge priority. Her foster mom is working on walks and sitting with her back turned to the stimulus. She knows that when I stop walking she needs to turn and sit to get a treat. She will learn fast once she gets used to the sights and sounds of the area.

Story
Meet Stubbz, a charismatic 1.5-year-old Basset Hound Lab mix with a zest for life. He is crate trained and house trained. This spirited pup is a perfect fusion of energy and sweetness, ready to charm his way into your heart and home!  Stubbz is a ball of enthusiasm, always up for an outdoor adventure. Whether it's exploring new trails or playing with his beloved toys, he's the ideal companion for an active lifestyle. However, his energy translates to some excitement during play and leash walks. Stubbz and his foster Mom are currently working on perfecting his leash manners, and with a little guidance, he's sure to become a great walking partner. As much as he loves to express his delight, Stubbz can get a bit mouthy which is his way of sharing the exuberance bubbling inside him. With patient training and positive reinforcement to include yummy treats, Stubbz will learn to channel his excitement into more gentle interactions. Despite his minor quirks, Stubbz is an absolute sweetheart. His strong yet gentle demeanor makes him a delightful cuddle buddy, especially after a fun filled day. Though he enjoys resting near his foster Mom, Stubbz will normally walk unescorted into his open crate, fluff his blankets and go to sleep.   If you're looking for a companion who's not only eager for adventure but also on a journey of self-improvement, Stubbz is the perfect match. Help him refine his leash skills, and you'll have a charming and loyal friend for life.  His captivating smile and expressive eyes will surely brighten even the gloomiest of days.  Are you ready to embark on a journey of training and companionship? Stubbz is waiting to bring his unique blend of energy and sweetness into your home. PAW places animals in the Washington DC/Baltimore Metropolitan areas only. ##1786501##

Story
Male, 6 months old, 35 lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained:   Mostly with an occasional accident Energy level: Puppy energy (medium-high) Noise level: Some (when he needs water, to go outside, or sometimes when he sees people passing by the window) Hey there, I'm Louie, and I'm here to charm my way into your heart and home! Let me tell you a little about myself. First things first, I'm a big fan of food and treats. I mean, who isn't, right? But for me, they're extra special because I'm still a puppy and I'm working hard on growing these teefs of mine. Chewing is my jam, and I'm always on the lookout for something tasty to gnaw on. When it comes to walks, I'm a pretty easygoing guy. I don't pull much, and I love taking my time to sniff all the sniffs along the way. Thunderstorms? They don't faze me much. I might bark a bit to let you know they're happening, but I'm not one to get anxious about them. Now, let's talk about my favorite pastime - trying to eat everything! But hey, I think it's mostly because I'm still a bit worried about where my next meal will come from. Can you blame me? I've got some basic training under my belt, like sit, down, and shake. Potty training? Almost nailed it! I'm still working on not counter surfing, and I don't like getting in my crate but I will eventually calm down once I'm inside. And let me tell you, I'm super treat motivated, so training me is a breeze. Sure, I might still be in my oral phase of exploring the world with my mouth, but I promise I'm not mouthy in an aggressive way. And I'm working on solidifying some more commands, but I'm a quick learner, so I'll get there in no time. My energy level is puppy-level, so I've got plenty of zest for life. I love playing with other dogs, running, fetch, tug, and wrestling! But don't worry, I'm just as happy to cuddle up and snooze next to you after a good play session. I might bark occasionally to let you know if I need something, but I'm not excessive about it. Overall, I'm a leash-trained, crate-trained, playful, affectionate, and eager-to-please pup. I get along great with other dogs, and I haven't met any cats yet. So, if you're looking for a goofy and loving companion to join your family, I'm your guy! My foster guardian says: "He is a handsome chap, about 6 months old, SMART as heck, and wild about snacks. Louie’s love language is touch, and who would blame him? with a rough start to life, like Louie, everyone would also want to keep a paw on your people to make sure they stay safe." " My pup and I have loved having Louie stay with us. The two of them are thick as thieves, both when awake and asleep. We hope he stays nearby so they can continue their bromance." Likes: Foods, treats, chewing, sniffing Dislikes : Barks sometimes during thunderstorms but not afraid My ideal home: Since I’m still a puppy, I’m very adaptable to new environments. I might like to live with another play mate, though! Story
Female, 9 years old, 75lbs Good with: Dogs of a similar size, kids Not good with: Cats, smaller animals House trained: Yes Energy level: Low to medium Noise level: Medium Hi there! I'm Roxy, and I'm here to tell you a little bit about myself. First things first, I absolutely adore walks! I'm what you might call a professional sniffer. Every leaf, every blade of grass, I just have to stop and take it all in. Treats are my weakness, especially when they're spread on a lickimat with some yummy yogurt. Oh, and chewy toys? Sign me up! I could spend hours chewing away. When I'm not exploring the great outdoors, you can find me by the window, keeping an eye on everything happening outside. I'm a big fan of belly rubs and butt scratches. There's nothing quite like a good scratch behind the ears to make my day. But, I do have a few dislikes. Sudden loud noises really startle me, and I'm not a fan of cats or small dogs. They just seem to rile me up a bit. In terms of training, I've got the basics down like potty training, but I could use some work on commands like 'sit' and 'stay'. I'm pretty good on a leash, but those squirrels? They just seem too tempting sometimes. And I might get a bit excited around other dogs and people, but I'm working on it! I live well with other dogs in the home, but can show resource guarding behavior around food. It's best that I eat in my crate or in a separate room, and I need to be monitored around treats and bones. I have a low energy level, so I'm more of a couch potato than a marathon runner. My ideal day includes a couple of nice walks and plenty of nap time. I don't need a yard, but I do enjoy a good car ride. Overall, I'm affectionate, even-tempered, and gentle. However, I do have some separation anxiety, so I prefer to be with someone most of the time. Another dog for company would be great too! If you're looking for a sweet companion who's always up for cuddles and sniffing adventures, I just might be the perfect match for you. My foster guardian says: "Roxy is the sweetest, loving girl! She will spend most of the day snuggled up with you napping on the couch but is excited to get out on a few walks and smell all the smells. She is potty trained and was great around kids.” Likes: Walks, sniffing, treats, lickmats, chewy toys/bones, belly rubs, butt scratches Dislikes : Loud noises, cats, small dogs My ideal home: Roxy would do well with someone working from home as she loves being with you. She needs a few good walks or dog park visits a day but otherwise would love to be a couch potato. She might do really well with another dog for company.
