Story
Current Location: Frederick, MD Gambet is a great big, tender, and kind gentleman with a soft heart and soulful eyes. From the moment he arrived, he began looking to his people for guidance, quietly asking for reassurance and comfort. He is gentle, thoughtful, and deeply affectionate. As he settles in, Gambet has shown just how trusting he is. His ears were dirty when he arrived, and he calmly let them be cleaned. He even allowed a nail trim on each front paw without fuss. He loves being brushed, enjoys hands-on care, and happily leans in for pets. He sheds quite a bit, but grooming time is something he seems to find soothing and bonding. Gambet potties outside and slept well through the night. He whined a little at first, then settled and rested peacefully. He did not eat until the next morning, likely still decompressing and wondering where his old family went, but once comfortable, he ate and relaxed. He still whines softly from time to time, which feels less like anxiety and more like a gentle check-in with the world around him. He knows basic commands like sit and paw and is eager to please. He has already started giving sweet kisses and shows how much he enjoys human connection. Right now, you will often find him resting quietly, soaking up affection, and slowly learning that he is safe. Gambet is a very good boy with a huge heart. He will thrive with someone patient and kind who understands that sensitive souls need reassurance as they begin again. In return, Gambet will offer loyalty, affection, and steady companionship.

Story
Current Location: Glen Rock, PA Meet Kindle – the Heart of the Toasty Bonfire Litter 🔥 Kindle is a gorgeous, 2-year-old, 50-pound mama who came all the way from Alabama with her four precious puppies. While her babies are starting to look for their forever homes, we can’t forget the incredible mama who made sure they were safe and loved. Life hasn’t been easy for Kindle — it seems she spent much of her time surviving on the streets before rescue. But now that she’s warm, safe, and cared for, she’s blossoming into the sweet, gentle soul she was always meant to be. She’s still putting a little weight back on (as most nursing mamas do!), but she’s already looking so much better and feeling more confident every day. Kindle is learning all the joys of home life — soft beds, regular meals, and loving humans. She’s doing wonderfully with her potty breaks and is mastering the art of holding it until her walks. Confinement isn’t her favorite thing just yet, but she’s learning that crates and quiet spaces aren’t so scary after all. She’s also showing how smart she is by picking up “sit” quickly and showing enthusiasm for learning new things. One of Kindle’s most striking features? Her two different-colored eyes — one blue and one brown — that seem to tell the story of her strength and resilience. She’ll be spayed before adoption, and whoever brings this girl home will be incredibly lucky. Kindle needs a patient, loving family who will continue showing her that she’s safe, cared for, and never alone again. With a little time and a lot of love, she’s sure to shine as the loyal companion she was always meant to be. 💛 I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!

Story
Roxy is a loving four month old puppy with smooth golden fur and white accents. She follows you from room to room and lights up when you sit down so she can climb in for a cuddle. She has a soft nature and an easy charm that makes you fall for her fast. ENERGY AND PERSONALITY Roxy stays busy with her foster sister and charges around the house in happy bursts. She plays with toys, carries squeakers like secret treasures, and settles into your arms without effort. She watches the television with full focus and brings a gentle curiosity to everything around her. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR Roxy settles in her crate after a short moment and is learning house routines. She goes when taken outside and responds to praise. She learns fast with treats and shifts away from mischief with a simple redirection. She relaxes once she knows what you want. SOCIAL LIFE Roxy loves her dog foster sister and greets new people with an open heart. She studies the cats with interest but responds well when guided away. She enjoys being part of the action and rests near you when her play ends. SPECIAL TRAITS Roxy carries toys from room to room like prized possessions. She melts into belly rubs and drops her whole weight into your hands once she feels safe. Her mix of exploration and tenderness gives her a sweet balance. BEST HOME FIT Roxy will thrive with a home that understands puppy energy and offers a steady routine. A family that is home often will help her grow with confidence. A dog companion would support her learning. Older children who respect her space will do well with her.

Story
House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Quiet My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Rose is how happy she is! Her tail never stops wagging! Likes: Walks, zoomies, riding in the car, playing, getting cuddles Hi, Im Rose, and Im ready to be your new canine BFF! Im the happiest girl in the world, and Ive never known a stranger! I get along with everybody I meet, and my foster mom says I have the most joyful spirit of any dog shes fostered. I will say Im much more a people person than a dog-person. I just dont feel the need to waste valuable time that could be spent with my humans on trying to make friends with other pups. I like some other dogs, especially when they are calm and easy going, but Id prefer to be the star of the canine show in my forever family! Some of my favorite things to do are to go for walks, sniff all the smells, get all the cuddles, and eat all the treats! Im food motivated, and love keeping my skills sharp! Im a super well-trained girly, so allow me to share some of my coolest tricks. First off, Im totally potty trained, Im also really good at staying in my crate, so if you happen to have a job where you go into the office, that's no problem for me! I currently hang out in my crate while my mom is at work, and Im quite talented at it. I also sleep in my crate overnight! I walk beautifully on leash, and I know a ton of commands like sit, down, off, leave it, stay, come, place, and more! Id love to join a family looking for a pup who can come on adventures with them! My foster mom and I go running together all the time, so if youre looking for a dog that doubles as a personal trainer, Im your girl! D.C. half, here we come! While its not a must, Id especially love to live somewhere with a yard where I could run around off-leash too. That would be the best! Like any good athlete though, I know the importance of rest. When Im not playing or running at top speed, I love to snuggle and snooze. One of my favorite places to be is cuddled up with my people on the couch, getting all the pets. All this to say, if youre looking for a dog who will be equal part adventure buddy and snuggle bug, who loves her people, but is amazing in her crate, and who is super cute to boot, remember this: everything's roses with Rose, so apply to adopt me today! Story
House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Barks occasionally My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Luna is just how sweet she is! Likes: hiking, napping, chewing on bones, playing with other dogs Hi there! Im Luna! My foster family describes me as happy, gentle, playful, and curious! In other words, Im all the fun parts of a puppy, without the extra work of training and socialization, because Ive already been there, done that! My foster family also says that of all the dogs theyve fostered, Im the one that theyve come the closest to foster failing with! Hear that folks? Theres some competition! Youd better snap me up quick! I ended up at the shelter after my previous family left me behind on their property when they moved. That was sad, and I still dont understand why they were done loving me, because I wasnt done loving them. But its okay, Im not dwelling on it! Im looking ahead to brighter days! Life at the shelter was okay (I was everybodys favorite, so that made things pretty easy), but things really started looking up when I met my awesome foster family! Living with a family again is the best! I love them so much! One of my favorite things to do is follow my foster mom around the house to keep her company while shes doing chores or working from home. Im always happy to get some snacks or pets in too! I like napping near her, and being a part of whatever activity shes up to. When Im not hanging out with my humans, I love spending time with my 2 foster doggy foster siblings! We play at the park together, go for long walks together, cuddle together, and keep each other company when our humans go to work. My foster family says that Im super respectful of their space, and I dont have any problem sharing toys or snacks. In addition to being very polite and easy-going, Im also totally potty trained, dont chew on things Im not supposed to, can stay home alone outside of my crate no problem, and even know a few tricks! Allow me to astound you. I know sit and off! You may now clap. Id be happy to learn even more with my forever family, whatever makes them happy! Im a girl in her golden years whos looking for a cozy spot to land where I can get all the love I deserve. Im more than willing to give humans a second chance, so now I just need someone to return the favor. Ive got so much love and joy to give, and I just want to share it! Think we might be a match?
