Story
Maxwell or Max which is what the family calls him, is a loveable, happy dog who likes to take long walks, go to the dog park and play catch. He has been a part of my family since he was a puppy, he is now almost 6 years old. The ideal family for Max would have large yard where he could run and older children to play with him. He gets annoyed when you touch his tail but as long as you have a ball and treats, he is happy. Max also loves to cuddle and gets excited watching football!

Story
Sue is a gentle and loving 1-year-old white Lab mix. She’s affectionate, calm, and eager to please, but she also has a playful side! She loves exploring the outdoors, going for walks, and enjoying active playtime. Sue would thrive in a home where she can be cherished, with a family or individual who has time for daily walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of affection. She would do especially well with an active person, couple, or family who can give her the attention she deserves. A home with a yard would be ideal, but she’ll also do wonderfully with someone committed to regular exercise. Sue is happiest as the only pet in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention without competition. Unfortunately, we cannot keep her any longer because she has not adjusted well with our other pets. Because of this, we are looking to find her a new forever home ASAP Location: Silver Spring, MD

Story
Sable is the definition of a lovable Lab—big, goofy, and full of heart. At 64 pounds, he’s equal parts playful and affectionate, with a silly personality that shines through in everything he does. He’ll greet you with joyful leaps, happily accept any treat, and then roll right over for belly rubs. Whether it’s a walk, a car ride, or just hanging out together, Sable is always ready for his next adventure with you. He already knows “sit” and is eager to keep learning, especially with a little help on leash manners. Sable came to PAW from an overcrowded shelter in South Carolina, where he spent far too much time in a kennel. Now that he’s getting a taste of freedom, he’s ready to blossom with a patient, loving home that can give him the exercise, structure, and encouragement he deserves. Sable is a quiet companion who isn’t much of a barker and settles nicely back into his kennel after walks. He’s smart, trainable, and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy being a dog. Most of all, Sable is just looking for someone to love—and he has plenty of that to give in return. PAW adopts in the MD, VA, DC, and northern PA region ##2683905##

Story
Meet Darling Bobby – a big SMUSH wanting to give you kisses!! **SENIOR** This sweet boy is a gentle soul who wants a home (and people) to call his own.  He LOVES people!  He is a volunteer favorite - all he wants is to give love and kisses to all people - kids included. If you want a well trained dog who can relax in the home and needs a relatively low level of exercise - consider the Bobster!  Bobby is 6 years old and only 60 pounds.  He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows many commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “wait.”  He has been attending class to learn how to walk better on the leash and ignore distractions - and he has been a star student!   Good boy Bobby enjoys playing in a yard and is an expert at fetch - sometimes with more than one ball at a time - and sometimes he doesn’t want to give them up (check out his video).  He is quite the snuggle bunny and will follow you around the house and patiently wait for you to give him attention.  He also loves to keep you company for car rides and walks in the woods or around a lake where he can sniff all the smells and dream of catching squirrels. PAW is committed to helping Bobby transition smoothly and will support his adopter with training to set him up for success. We think Bobby would do best in a single family home with a yard as the only dog.  If you have room for this sweet boy apply today! ##1127125##

Story
Lucky is a great dog. He is very affectionate with people he knows and with strangers. He likes to be petted and given belly rubs and he loves being outside. He is house trained and knows some simple commands. He has a generally low energy level but can be very energetic for short periods when playing with our other dog. We got Lucky from a shelter in 2020 when he was 3 1/2 years old. We have always lived places with fenced yards since then, but now we have had to move to an apartment. Lucky gets along well with our other dog , but he can be reactive around other dogs when he is taken out on a leash for walks. He enjoys his walks and walks pretty well on a leash except when he sees another dog, then he pulls strongly on the leash in the direction of the other dog, but he has never fought or bitten another dog. I am getting older and less able to physically manage him on walks, which now need to be done daily in areas around other dogs. Lucky would be happy to have a home with a yard.
