Story
Meet Stubbz, a charismatic 1.5-year-old Basset Hound Lab mix with a zest for life. He is crate trained and house trained. This spirited pup is a perfect fusion of energy and sweetness, ready to charm his way into your heart and home!  Stubbz is a ball of enthusiasm, always up for an outdoor adventure. Whether it's exploring new trails or playing with his beloved toys, he's the ideal companion for an active lifestyle. However, his energy translates to some excitement during play and leash walks. Stubbz and his foster Mom are currently working on perfecting his leash manners, and with a little guidance, he's sure to become a great walking partner. As much as he loves to express his delight, Stubbz can get a bit mouthy which is his way of sharing the exuberance bubbling inside him. With patient training and positive reinforcement to include yummy treats, Stubbz will learn to channel his excitement into more gentle interactions. Despite his minor quirks, Stubbz is an absolute sweetheart. His strong yet gentle demeanor makes him a delightful cuddle buddy, especially after a fun filled day. Though he enjoys resting near his foster Mom, Stubbz will normally walk unescorted into his open crate, fluff his blankets and go to sleep.   If you're looking for a companion who's not only eager for adventure but also on a journey of self-improvement, Stubbz is the perfect match. Help him refine his leash skills, and you'll have a charming and loyal friend for life.  His captivating smile and expressive eyes will surely brighten even the gloomiest of days.  Are you ready to embark on a journey of training and companionship? Stubbz is waiting to bring his unique blend of energy and sweetness into your home. PAW places animals in the Washington DC/Baltimore Metropolitan areas only. ##1786501##

Story
Tommy is a big goofy boy who thinks he is a lap dog even though he is an 85 lb boy!  He has a big head and a BIG smile and he loves everyone he meets.  He is a male, 1& 1/2 year old labrador retriever maybe pit mix.   He walks well on a leash and doesn't pull a lot, but does get excited when he sees other dogs he wants to play with.   He went to a ballgame and everyone loved him and he loved everyone.  Just look at his sweet big face.   Wouldn't you like to help him find love in his forever home? Story
** I am currently being housed at our New York Avenue location. Come meet me at 1201 New York Avenue NE, every day from 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. If we could bottle up Reign's lust for life, well we could solve all the world's energy problems. This SUPER friendly and busy miss is so eager to meet people that she just jumps for joy. She is perpetually happy. What a great gal. Reign is a big young puppy that needs dedicated adopters to help her refine her leash walking skills- she is ready to be a student in positive training classes. She would be an A+ star! Reign also needs to gain a bit of weight as she is rather thin. Reign's last home sadly did not have time for her, but she is not looking back- just onto finding a loving, VERY active home where she can be a part of the fun and games.

Story
If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericDog's Name:  Carter (CAR0921CHEMD)Estimated Breed:  Labrador Retriever  mix Approximate Age:  3 yearsApproximate Weight:   50 lbs Currently Living at:  FosterAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION: What a handsome fellow!!  Carter is a timid boy who is very unsure of new things.  Once acclimated to his surroundings and routine he's great! He will do best with an adopter who is loving, patient, and willing to give him the time he needs to build his trust. He is bonded with Violet who is a little less nervous about people than Carter is, and  another confident dog in the household will also show Carter how awesome life can be. Carter would not thrive in an apartment or busy city, so a more rural single family home with a  large fenced yard is the best fit for him. He is VERY dog friendly and loves to play with any dog you put him with. Carter and Violet do wonderfully together, with a very solid routine, and will make great "farm dogs" where they can be allowed to relax and play together...that's all they want in life. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!  Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/   Donations help us offset boarding costs and additional medical treatment for those dogs who need it.  K-9 Lifesavers receives NO federal funding and survive with your generous support! IIf you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process  by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Violet (VIO0921CHEFD)Estimated Breed :   Labrador Retriever mix Approximate Age:   3 yearsApproximate Weight:   40 lbs Currently Living at:  FosterAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:   Violet came in a very scared young girl who has had it pretty rough so far. Luckily, K-9 Lifesavers has stepped in to help. She will need someone who is loving and patient and will give her time to build her confidence and trust. Violet will benefit from an adopter that knows how to care for scared rescue dogs. Another confident dog in the household may also be what Violet needs to help her overcome her fears. She is comfortable with other dogs, not so comfortable with people. Her foster has worked with her and she has progressed beyond the shut-down mangy pup in the last picture. But she has some more 'coming out' to do. She will do best with an experienced family living in a single family house with a large fenced yard. Unfortunately, we cannot expect her to thrive in a city environment, she doesn't walk on leash, and she won't potty on leash so having a fenced yard to be able to work on these things is required. Please consider giving sweet Violet a chance at a better life.Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training.
