Story
Meet Peach! Peach was surrendered to a rural South Carolina shelter with her littermates when she was less than 8 weeks old. The shelter is a scary place for any animal, let alone a puppy. Peach is super smart for a puppy and very active! She loves toys, especially stuffed ones and frozen kong bones. Peach knows sit, is housebroken, crate trained, and gets along great with her foster's other dogs and cats. Peach will need to be spayed before going to her forever home and is up to date on vaccines for her age. Peach is super friendly towards people and would make a wonderful addition to any family!

Hey there — I'm Dune, a handsome 2-year-old Black Labrador Retriever mix with a striking black coat and a couple of charming white markings: a small patch on my chest and a white toe on my rear right paw! 🐕 At 84 pounds, I'm a solid, strapping guy with a friendly nature and plenty of love to give. I'm not yet neutered, so that's something to discuss with the shelter team, but I'm ready to find my forever home. Apply online to come meet me and let's see if we're a perfect match! 🐾

Story
Name: Harper Lee Estimated Birthday: 02/06/2017 Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix Adoption Fee: $265 Meet Harper Lee, your new bestie. She’s a sweet, people-loving girl. At 10-years-young, she’s ready to write the next great chapter of her life with you. When her previous owner's health declined, Harper Lee was welcomed back into rescue where she's been patiently waiting for the right home to find this rare gem. Harper is a true companion who will be right by your side as you tackle getting dinner on the table. Need a sous chef? She’s ready. This people lover is also an experienced traveler who enjoys car rides and is excited to explore new places and meet new faces. Traveling is a breeze on foot as she’s a skilled leash walker, and she’s also the kind of dog that doesn’t need a fenced yard. Never one to walk away from an opportunity to socialize, Harper Lee loves befriending both dogs and cats. This lab extraordinaire would make a wonderful fit for a variety of families especially with kids. If you are patient and willing to allow her the time and support as she adjusts to crate training, she will thrive. Although she does have a bit of separation anxiety, we believe this can be surmounted with love and consistency. Her mild allergies are easy to manage. Harper Lee has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give it to. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will follow you everywhere —especially to the kitchen for her sous chef duties-she just might be your perfect match."

Story
Hi there! My name is Cocoa, and I’m a 2-year-old sweetheart who believes that everyone I meet is automatically my new best friend. Humans? Love them. Dogs? Love them too. Honestly, if you’re willing to give pets, I’m already obsessed with you. I’m a friendly, happy girl who just wants to be part of the fun. One of my favorite things to do is plop down right next to my people (or dog friends) like I’ve known them forever—personal space is overrated when you’re this lovable! I’m also a big fan of soft plush toys… you know, the ones that are perfect for carrying around like a prized possession. If you’re looking for a pup who will greet you like you’re the most important person in the world every single day, I might just be your girl. Cocoa’s Highlights: • 2 years old • Super friendly with people • Dog-friendly • Professional tail-wagger and cuddle companion I am currently a part of the Direct to Adopt Program in Austin TX. If have a committed adopter or foster, I can be transported to The Shelter Pet Adoption Center inside Petco located in Huntersville, NC (10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078) on May 8th, 2026. If you’d like more information about me or want to talk about fostering or adopting, please reach out to my team: Email: NCteam@austinpetsalive.org Call: (704) 266-3647
