Meet Surrey: Your Future Adventure Buddy! This adorable 15-week-old mixed breed pup has already overcome so much adversity in his young life after being abandoned and left in a situation that could have cost him his life. Thankfully a rescue stepped up and pulled him from despair into the loving arms of a foster. Surrey has thrived in the warm cocoon of support and love provided by his foster and finds himself ready to take the next step on his journey for a forever family. Size & Appearance: Surrey is a handsome male puppy who currently weighs about 20 pounds: a mighty and brave but still small boy who will most likely grow to be at least 50 pounds when fully grown—probably around 4 feet long! He's: ● Playful and energetic, especially with his sister (his shadow) ● Affectionate and loves to snuggle with his people (he’s got so much love to give) ● Curious and interested in making new friends (even the cat! He likes all sorts of friends.) ● Respectful of boundaries—he backs off when the cat tells him "not now" because he has manners. Perfect Home: Surrey would thrive in a home where he can: ● Have a canine playmate (he'd be very happy with another dog to be his pal!) ● Get plenty of exercise through running and playing with toys ● Receive continued potty training support (he's working on it and making big strides for such a young boy!) ● Bond with people who love cuddles as much as playtime Good With: ✓ Dogs (loves other pups!) ✓ Cats (curious but respectful) ✓ Adults (loves people!) ? Small children (hasn't been tested yet) Additional Info: ● Neutered: Yes ● Crate trained: No (but ready to learn!). He’s a smart boy. Surrey is ready to bring endless love, laughter, and puppy kisses to his forever family. Could that be you? Apply today to brighten your day by adding this loving boy to your life. Story
Brody is 5 years old and was adopted from the shelter at 2.5 years old. I don’t know much about his story before that. He’s had a loving home since then with lots of exercise and regular preventative care. He’s an energetic and sweet dog- loves kids, dogs, cats, everything. He loves connection- can’t get enough snuggles, pets, and play. He’ll fetch a ball for days! The reason I am rehoming is due to his energy level. My life is just too calm for him and he gets mischievous due to boredom. In a more full and engaging environment, he would be a happier dog and I want to give him that opportunity.

Story
Spenser is currently in boarding and needs a foster or adopter so that we can learn more about him.  He would do best in a home with no other animals and a large fenced yard to “zoom” around.  He is approximately 49 lbs.   At 1 year old, he has a lot of energy but we have training lined up for him if we can find someone to commit to fostering him and working on new skills with him and his trainer while he's in foster care.    We don’t want Spencer to fall by the wayside! We know he’s a good boy. If you have time to learn about and love on Spencer, please complete an application at lastdaydogs.comOctober 8, 2025, 11:11 am

Story
Poor Benson was abandoned when his owners moved away, and he so deserves a real forever home. He had a 3 inch stick stuck in his neck when he was found and needed surgery to remove it, but he's already forgotten all about it. His wonderful foster home is teaching him the basics and giving him lots of love and attention, and he's really blossoming. He's potty trained and crate trained; he likes to hang out in his crate so much that his foster started closing the door sometimes, and he's decided the couch is the best spot. Benson likes playing with female dogs and does ok with most male dogs, with proper introduction. His play style is pretty wild when he gets excited, and it could be off putting for some dogs, but he's never aggressive, and he LOVES to play (with people too!). He takes cues from other dogs, good or bad-- if another dog lunges on a leash, Benson will do the same, but when he meets a chill dog, he's chill, too. He's learning basic commands and needs more work on manners like jumping. His forever home should be committed to continuing to work with him to improve his manners and giving him plenty of exercise-- a tired dog is a good dog! He likes kids, but will do better with older kids-- his boisterous puppy energy and tendency to jump may be too much for little ones. He would love to have a fenced yard and a friend to bounce around with! Benson is neutered, and microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, is on heartworm prevention. COURTESY POST FOR MERCY FUND ANIMAL RESCUE, INC https://mercyrescue.org APPLY FOR HARLEY USING THIS LINK: https://mercyrescue.org/adoption-application DO NOT APPLY THROUGH NORTH MECKLENBURG ANIMAL RESCUE! Harley is located in Marion, NC Meet Harley Harley is a beautiful young lady who was born January 2024 and hasn’t finished growing. We see yellow lab in her for sure and think she’s mixed with a large breed such as Great Dane. Other guesses include Mastiff, Cane Corso, and/or a hound breed. Harley is a sweet doll baby whose favorite thing is to climb up on your lab and snuggle her head under your chin. She loves to play with her foster brother. Harley does have a high prey drive and wouldn’t do well in a home with animals smaller than she is. She prefers male dogs to females and is protective of her food. Harley is very smart and does well both on a leash and in public. Harley is a little timid and shy at first but is pure love once she feels comfortable. She sleeps in a crate at night and loves to greet you in the morning. Harley does need a lot of exercise because she’s a mix of large working breeds. She’d make a great hiking buddy and adventure companion.
