Story
Meet Lawrence – A Gentle Soul with So Much Love to Give Lawrence is a sensitive, people-focused pup who forms deep bonds with his humans. He truly thrives when he’s near them and is happiest simply being part of the action. Because of that strong attachment, crate training has been a bit of a work in progress due to some separation anxiety — but with consistency and care from his dedicated foster, he’s showing steady improvement. Lawrence would do best in a home with a dog buddy — ideally one his size or larger — to help ease his anxiety and keep him company when his people aren’t home. This boy is all heart: gentle, well-mannered, incredibly chill, and a quick learner. He doesn’t ask for much — just a little patience, a safe space to call his own, and someone willing to let him bloom. If you’re looking for a calmer, loyal companion who just needs time to trust and feel secure, Lawrence might be the perfect addition to your family!

Story
Meet Link – The Perfect Balance of Playful and Laid-Back Link is a friendly, carefree guy who brings all the charm of a Labrador without the nonstop energy. While he definitely enjoys a good game of chase with the young pup in his foster home, he’s quick to settle down and prefers lounging over constant zoomies. He’s working on his leash skills and making great progress — still a little unsure at times, but he’s a fast learner with a heart that’s eager to please. Link absolutely adores the young children in his foster home and is incredibly gentle and loving with them. He’s also crate trained and finds real comfort in his crate — you’ll often catch him relaxing in it even when the door’s wide open. Bonus: he’s fully house trained, making him an easy addition to just about any home. If you’re looking for a playful but relaxed pup who’s great with kids, learning fast, and loves a cozy crate nap, Link might just be your perfect match.

Story
Are you looking for a sweet, gentle dog who gets along well with other dogs and is one of the best mama dogs around? If so, Tootsie might be the perfect fit for you! Tootsie is a 2-year-old, 50-pound Labrador Retriever who will be ready to meet potential adopters and go to her forever home starting July 29th. On June 17th, Tootsie gave birth to an incredible litter of 13 puppies—and while we don’t know if it was her first, we do know it will be her last! Tootsie has done an amazing job caring for her puppies and has been wonderfully tolerant with the other dogs in her foster home. Even just three weeks after giving birth, she enjoys their company and doesn’t mind them being around her babies. Tootsie is still shy when meeting new people, so she will need a patient and understanding family willing to give her time to adjust, recover from weaning, and continue learning how to be an indoor dog. She seems to be housetrained, as she lets her foster know when she needs to go outside. We are unsure if she is crate trained at this time. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a sweet girl who’s already proven what a loving soul she has, Tootsie would love to meet you! If you are interested in adopting Tootsie, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **  July 7, 2025, 2:36 pm

Story
Meet Warrior – a beautiful soul with a heart as big as her name. Born on Memorial Day 2020 , Warrior came into this world as part of a rescue and was lovingly raised in her first home. Just shy of her 5th birthday, she was sadly returned— not due to any fault of her own, but because of a child’s allergies and increased travel demands from her family. Now adjusting well in her foster home, Warrior is showing everyone just how special she is. She's incredibly friendly with children , and she gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats . We’ve had the joy of watching Warrior grow up through social media over the years, so we can vouch for her sweet and gentle nature. Warrior is a Labrador Retriever mix , currently weighing 88 pounds . She has begun a healthy journey to shed a few pounds, and we’re confident she’ll thrive with the right care. A gentle giant , Warrior is calm, affectionate, and easygoing. She doesn’t ask for much— just a loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and never face abandonment again. If you are interested in adopting Bjorn, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. Story
Meet Ladybug! Ladybug is a lovable 3-year-old Labrador Retriever and Hound mix, weighing in at a perfect 40 pounds. She’s fully vaccinated, healthy, and all set to find her forever home! This sweet, spunky girl is ready to leap right into your heart (and maybe over your fence). Ladybug is a high-energy, adventurous pup who lives for a good run and thrives on activity. Whether it’s jogging beside you or exploring the great outdoors, she’s always up for the next fun thing. She’s also a total sweetheart with kids and other dogs, making her a great companion for an active family. But don’t let her name fool you, Ladybug has some serious hops! She can clear fences like a track star, so a very tall, secure fence is a must if you have a yard. Even better, she’d love to be your walking, hiking, or running buddy instead of being left alone outside. No cats, please. Ladybug has a strong prey drive and thinks feline friends are just too exciting. If you're looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion to join your adventures, Ladybug is your girl! Come meet her and see just how special she is. If you're looking for a loyal, active, and loving companion, Ladybug might just be your perfect match. Come meet her—she's ready to steal your heart! If you are interested in adopting Ladybug, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Meet Tillie!  Tillie is a sweet and spirited 1.5-year-old, 60-pound Labrador Retriever mix who’s ready to find her forever family! With her big heart and playful nature, she’s sure to bring lots of love and laughter to the right home. Tillie is still learning and growing, so she’s looking for a family that will be patient and committed to helping her become the very best version of herself. She’s lived with children and cats before, though she does like to chase them in hopes of sparking a play session—so playful companions or an understanding household would be ideal! While she may be a little shy at first with new people or dogs, give her a little time and she’ll melt right into your hands. Once you’re in her circle, you’ll have a loyal, affectionate friend for life. Tillie is create and house trained, fully vetted and microchipped!
