Story
Meet Fancy Nancy, lovingly called Fancy! Fancy is a one year old Lab who came to us from a large scale breeding/hoarding case. Over 120 labs were removed from this property, and we were lucky enough to step in for this sweet girl who needed a safe landing place and a real chance at life. Fancy is heartworm negative and fully vetted. She is about 45 pounds fully grown, with a low to the ground, slightly stout build that only adds to her charm! Because of her past, Fancy craves human affection. While she is friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, she would choose her person every single time. She truly just wants to be close to you! Her foster family is working on crate training and helping her through some separation anxiety. Fancy is fully potty trained and non destructive in the home, but she does not enjoy confinement and would thrive with a patient family who is home more often than not and willing to continue her training with kindness and consistency. Fancy has already come so far! Now she just needs someone willing to give her the stability and love she never had!

Story
Patrisha is a 1-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix who’s equal parts playful and cuddly. She loves zooming around the backyard, throwing her toys to herself and then settling in for night time cuddles.  She’s a gentle, sweet girl who’s great with kids. She has a charming, classic hound howl when she is excited to see you. She would thrive in a house with an active family, or big backyard to meet her energy needs. She loves to play with other dogs. Patrisha is spayed. She is learning quickly as she works on leash skills. She has already mastered sit and come and is working on down and stay. She is crate and house trained.   Her nosey hound nature means that Patrisha needs a cat and bird-free home.  If you’re looking for a loving young dog who will grow with you—and happily share your couch—Patrisha could be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting Patrisha, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***  March 7, 2026, 10:27 pm

Story
Meet Terra – A Gentle Soul Looking for Peace in Her Golden Years  Terra is an almost 13-year-old, 60-pound sweetheart who is searching for a soft place to land after her world was unexpectedly turned upside down. After spending 10 years in a home, Terra was returned through no fault of her own, and she’s still trying to understand all the changes around her. Right now, in her foster home, Terra is very quiet and keeps to herself. She’s a bit scared and confused, which is completely understandable after everything she’s been through. But beneath that uncertainty is a gentle, loving dog who just needs time, patience, and a kind heart to help her feel safe again. About Terra:  Nearly 13 years old and 60 pounds, Previously lived with children and another dog, Calm and quiet in the home, House manners from years in a home environment, Looking for a peaceful, loving place to call home Terra doesn’t need much—just a patient family willing to give her the time and space to decompress, rebuild trust, and feel secure again. In return, you’ll be giving a deserving senior the comfort, love, and dignity she deserves in her golden years. If you believe every dog deserves a happy ending, Terra is waiting for you. If you are interested in adopting Terra, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Story
Meet Lucy, a spirited three year old Labrador Retriever/shepherd mix who packs a whole lot of love into her 43-pound frame. This social butterfly is the ultimate "people person" and has truly never met a stranger, greeting every new face with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. While she hasn’t lived with children in her current foster home, she has consistently shown a gentle nature and great manners during her public outings. Lucy is already an expert at being a house guest, as she is fully house and crate trained, ensuring a much smoother transition into her forever home. Currently, Lucy lives harmoniously with a cat and other dogs, making her a great fit for a multiple pet household. When meeting new dogs, Lucy does need slow and careful introductions as it takes her a little time to warm up to a new canine friend.  However, it doesn't take her long to become fast friends with her canine pals and she likes to play!  When she isn’t busy exploring the world one sniff at a time, Lucy’s absolute favorite place to be is curled up right next to her favorite human on the couch. If you are searching for a loyal, affectionate companion to fill your life with joy, Lucy is ready to start her next chapter with you! If you are interested in adopting Lucy, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. Story
Where’s Waldo? Right here—and he’s looking for YOU!  Meet Waldo, a 2-year-old, 60-pound Labradoodle who’s ready to be found by his forever family! Unlike the famous Waldo, this guy doesn’t want to stay hidden—he’s hoping to stand out and steal your heart. Waldo is the total package: friendly, well-mannered, and always up for an adventure (or a cozy night in). What makes Waldo easy to find (and love):  Dog-friendly and enjoys making new furry friends, House trained and knows his indoor manners,  Walks well on a leash—perfect for neighborhood strolls, Did great around kids at his first adoption event,  A happy, social guy who just wants to be part of the family. Whether you’re exploring the neighborhood, relaxing at home, or heading out for a weekend adventure, Waldo is ready to be right by your side. So… the real question is—can you find room in your heart (and home) for Waldo?  If you are interested in adopting Waldo, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence.
