Story
Meet Whittaker  This handsome boy has been let down too many times, and we are determined that it never happens again. His next family must be in it for the long haul—a forever home he truly deserves. Please only apply if you are fully committed to Whittaker for life and meet the following requirements: --  A securely fenced yard --  Another dog in the home (not fragile or geriatric) --  No cats (his response to cats is unknown) --  No young children he could easily knock over; children must be respectful --  No babies or young children planned for the foreseeable future   To be absolutely clear—Whittaker is a  wonderful  dog. He is thriving and deeply loved in his current multi-dog foster home (6+ dogs), where he also lives successfully with children. His foster environment provides consistent structure, leadership, and management, which allows Whittaker to shine.   He's about two years old and is crate trained, housebroken, walks well on leash, and rides beautifully in the car. Whittaker is affectionate, loving, and enjoys being part of a pack. At 65 pounds, he is also a big dog, and big dogs come with big responsibilities—including regular grooming and the financial commitment that comes with it ($). Whittaker deserves a home that has thoughtfully considered the realities of large-dog ownership and is fully prepared to offer him stability, love, and a truly permanent forever home. If you are interested in adopting Whittaker, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence . We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **  February 10, 2026, 11:56 am

Story
Patrisha is a 1-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix who’s equal parts playful and cuddly. She loves zooming around the backyard, throwing her toys to herself and then settling in for night time cuddles.  She’s a gentle, sweet girl who’s great with kids. She has a charming, classic hound howl when she is excited to see you. She would thrive in a house with an active family, or big backyard to meet her energy needs. She loves to play with other dogs. Patrisha is spayed. She is learning quickly as she works on leash skills. She has already mastered sit and come and is working on down and stay. She is crate and house trained.   Her nosey hound nature means that Patrisha needs a cat and bird-free home.  If you’re looking for a loving young dog who will grow with you—and happily share your couch—Patrisha could be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting Patrisha, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. Story
Meet Frizzy!  Frizzy is an adorable 8-month-old doodle mix (Labrador Retriever/Poodle) puppy with a gorgeous tan and black coat. Fizzy has a big, playful personality to match. She weighs about 57 lbs and is still very much a puppy—curious, sweet, and learning the ropes. Frizzy is house trained and does well in a crate, though she may be a little nervous at first and just needs some gentle reassurance. She’s currently working on her puppy manners (like remembering not to snag snacks off the counter), but she’s eager to learn and responds well to guidance. She’s great with kids and other dogs. She absolutely loves playing with her toys. Frizzy would do best in a home ready to continue her training, give her structure, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a friendly, fun-loving pup who will grow into a wonderful companion, Frizzy might be your girl.  If you are interested in adopting Frizzy, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Story
Meet Georgia! Georgia is the sweetest girl and loves every person or dog she meets. She is a little timid still meeting new people but warms right up within minutes. She is mostly potty trained and has only had a few accidents in the couple weeks I’ve had her. She’s food motivated and picks up on commands quickly. Crate training is still a work in progress as she does sleep through the night in it but she does fuss for about 5-10 minutes whenever she first goes in her crate. Her temperament is great and is so laid back for only being 6 months old. She has bursts of energy here and there but mostly likes to lounge around the house with me and her foster brother! All interested parties must complete an adoption application on our website. Breed, size, and age not guaranteed Billiesbuddies.com/adopt

Story
Alvin is a playful, energetic, spunky puppy with a hilarious personality, an affinity for ice cubes, and the cutest little ears. He’s house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash and is building a resume full of obedience commands and tricks. Alvin’s fosters do not have a dog and Alvin has done well with playing with toys and with his foster parents. He’s also had multiple sleepovers with other dogs and loved playing and snuggling with them after a proper introduction. He’s building confidence quickly, but can sometimes be timid or unsure and can be a little feisty when he’s overwhelmed. He’s also still exploring the world with his sharp puppy teeth, so may not be a fit for young children that don’t understand his space.  This little guy has nothing but love to give to his future family! Of note- Alvin is suspected to have a sensitivity to all turkey, chicken, and beef products. He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard rather than an apartment.
