Story
Hi! I'm Napoleon. I'm about 17 months old. My mom says I look like a lab wearing a tux (I'm very fancy!). I am about 60 lbs, but that doesn't stop me from sitting on laps. I am a medium to low energy guy; happy to walk on my leash (very nicely!), play at the park or daycare with my dog buddies and snuggle at home with my people. My parents want the best for me, so they hired a trainer to teach me to come when called, walk on a leash, and leave it when I am sniffing something particularly wonderful. I passed with A+ marks! I sleep in my crate at night and am happy to chill there during the day though my family recently started leaving me to roam the house while they are at work because I'm past those puppy days of chewing up shoes and dolls! I do love a good bone and a squeaky toy! I'm a superstar at daycare; both my doggy and human friends love me very much! I don't jump up or bark much at all.
I am protective of my house, so I'd prefer a household with fewer visitors. I sometimes get nervous and can be aggressive toward visitors at my house (though I love meeting new people at the park!). I like kids and do well with them, but would be best in a household without children since I do require some extra attention when people come to visit. I'm lazy enough that I'd do fine in an apartment as long as you can walk me a couple times each day. I'd be happy as either a solo pup or in a house with other dogs. I like every dog that I've ever met!
Napoleon Dynamite is an active, smart and snuggly dog. He enjoys walks (and doesn’t seem to tire out however when he gets home he definitely splays out for a rest), as well as seems perfectly suited for our PNW weather as rain doesn’t phase him at all.
Crate trained, potty trained, great with other dogs, children. Needs a more low traffic home and would love to have a compatible friend.
More to come!
For playtime, Napoleon LOVES a solid game of fetch or tug. Fetch frequently turns into a nice energy release session of the zoomies which is again a prequel to nap time. He is a very smart boy and caught on quickly to the treat dispensing bob a lot toy with the opening reduced 50%, he loves nosing that around the floor to get his kibble to release. Don’t let the activity fool you though, he is a snuggler. After a play session Napoleon wants nothing more than to sit on your lap or sit on the floor leaning against your legs (or on top of your feet).
Napoleon is great with kids, there are 3 in the house ranging from 4.5-11 years old. He is very patient and tolerant to loud noises or the occasional shout (but his head does whip around to see where the noise came from). There are no other pets in the house but on walks he does not pull or run after other dogs nor bark at them.
He took to the crate like a pro as well and sleeps all night in there with only a few quiet whines at the start. During foster mom’s workday Napoleon also loves to lounge in and out of the crate for naps and relaxation in the same room (in between his walks and play sessions).
Sneak perk!
