Story
Labrador Retriever Mix 1 year old Male 42 pounds Kids · 10+ Dogs · Yes Cats · No Toby or Not Toby, that is the question—and the answer is Toby, of course! I mean, look at me! This smile can light up a room. My heart is as soft and shiny as this stunning coat of fur I wear upon my back. I’ll share my love with other dogs, but no cats, please. I will even enjoy the company of respectful older children 10+ who understand how to be very patient and understanding. Truth is, I’ll take all the love and affection I can get, but I want to feel safe! I’m still a pup and although I have had lots of training, like crate training and housetraining basic commands I want to find a family who will give me the time, guidance and structure I need to blossom into the best boy I can be. So, there you have it, all the answers you could need. It’s Toby of course! My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Meet Rango! Rango is a sweet boy full of love and loyalty. He is a great puppy who has been soaking up his training! He is potty trained and is learning his manners too. He is fostering with a dog trainer (win-win!) in Salem, Oregon. He is doing so well, taking it all in, and he would make a great sidekick for someone looking for a smart dog with a positive and pleasant attitude. He is incredibly shiny, soft, and has a big heart and a wonderful endearing attitude. Rango likes other dogs, might not be great with cats or teeny tiny dogs (they are a little too exciting for him), and he loves people too. RANGO is around 7 months old, 28 lbs, neutered, and vaccinated. We are thinking he may grow to be about 45 lbs. If you are interested in this great little dude, reach out to colleen@startrescue.org or 804-651-6442 (cell).

All fees listed include transport fees.** Looking for a new playmate for your furry friend? Look no further than Blake Richard! This guy loves to play with dogs of all shapes and sizes. He's a friendly fella who loves nothing more than spending time with his favorite people. He loves going on walks (he is working on his leash skills) and playing with toys. Blake is quiet, sweet, and good at listening to commands. He is house and crate-trained and we think he is good with kids, since he was around them when he was a puppy. If you're looking for a fun addition to your family, adopt Blake today! He is a little over a year old and 55 pounds. We think he is a mix between a lab and a border collie! Interested in becoming a forever home for Blake? All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. He's always super excited to greet you with his adorable wagging tail and shower you with unconditional love in the form of lots of slobbery kisses. He'll be your very own personal Netflix and snuggle buddy, but also a fun playmate who's always down for an epic game of chase in the park. 🐾 Meet Zoey: Your Next Adventure Buddy! 🤩Hello! I'm Zoey, a stunning 1.5-year-old female Labrador Retriever with a heart of gold and contagious, boundless energy! I am incredibly social, treating every stranger like a friend I haven't officially greeted yet. I am obsessed with playtime, particularly squeaky toys and fetch, and because I'm extremely food motivated, I'm ready to be a fast learner in training. As a high-energy girl, I need an active family committed to providing plenty of daily exercise (long walks, running, or hiking) and teaching me basic manners. Due to my youthful enthusiasm, the shelter requests children be 12 years and up. If you're ready for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your life with slobbery kisses and tail wags, please ask to meet me! Story
Meet Ziggy! Ziggy is the kind of dog who catches your eye and quietly wins your heart. With her sleek black coat that shimmers in the sun and fur so soft it feels like velvet, it almost seems like she’s been sneaking into the house for spa days and deep-conditioning treatments. But it’s not just her beautiful coat or her soulful eyes that make her special. It’s the way she leans in for affection and the way she melts into your arms when you give her hugs. She is such a sweetie pie. Ziggy is a lab/ rottie mix who we believe is about a year and a half! But due to her being a rescue, age and breed are not guaranteed! One thing is for certain, she is soft-hearted, silky-coated, and ready for her forever home! Check out Ziggy in action below! https://youtu.be/uDrrqzq8360 Ziggy is currently living with three small dogs and several cats. Despite the age gap between her and the senior residents, she’s respectful and gentle. She has been curious about the cats, sometimes even playful, but never pushy or inappropriate. She’s the kind of dog who gives space, who listens, and who would do well with dog-savvy feline friends. She’s also had a chance to meet a variety of dogs during her time with us. Her play style is sweet and engaging once she’s warmed up, and she especially lights up around smaller or gentler pups who share her soft energy. When her comfort grows, so does her playful spirit, and it's a joy to watch her come out of her shell. She’s not terribly interested in toys yet, but she absolutely loves affection. Her favorite moments are the ones where she’s close to you, resting her head in your hands or soaking up gentle pets. She has lovely manners, is wonderfully polite with food and space, and would make a calm, loyal companion in a peaceful home. Ziggy hasn’t lived with small children, but her temperament suggests she could do well in a home with respectful, dog-savvy kids who are gentle and kind. She has spent time with 16 year olds and enjoyed it! Younger children are a maybe—not because Ziggy doesn’t like them, but because just hasn’t spent much time around them! No worries though, we are happy to introduce her to any age kiddo you may have in your life! We want to make sure she is perfect for your family! With her soft eyes and warm smile, Ziggy has a quiet magic about her. She is looking for that special family to devote her heart to. If you’re looking for a dog who will change your life for the better, apply for Ziggy today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6824dcaa1fa2c225f80a6e6e Questions? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
