Story
Murphy, 5.5Y, is a sweet boy who lives respectfully with 2 cats and will greet you and your people with a great amount of enthusiasm. He needs to be on anti-seizure meds which he takes without issue and I will give what I have. My house is no longer full of family nor am I able to walk him as much as he needs. Even so, he has been a wonderful pet and it breaks my heart to rehome him. I have a hip injury that makes it really difficult to get him the exercise he needs. He's a labrador so he still acts like a puppy. He is full house trained (I cannot remember the last time he had a accident and I'm away for 10ish hours/day) and would prefer a companion that is home a bit more or takes him with them. He's super friendly; wants to meet every person and dog he sees and will pull so a little training needed. That said, when walked and exercised consistently, he's much better. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old and love him dearly but he deserves way more attention than he is receiving.

Meet Henry ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Henry is a neutered, 6 year old male Catahoula mix, weighing around 38lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. This sweet gentleman of a pup is ready for forever! If you’re looking for a well behaved, lovable family member, Henry is the one for you. He’s past the crazy puppy stage and just needs a comfy bed, stuffies to destroy and lots of cuddles to be content. Henry really enjoys the company of other dogs and would love a canine sibling in the home. He is on the submissive side and has done well with dogs of all sizes, greeting them with a smile and a wagging tail! We do not have any information about cats at this time. Henry met a 9 year old human and did great! Because of his gentle nature, he’d probably do well with older kiddos in the home. This good natured fellow is crate and potty trained and walks well on a leash. He’s a bit bow legged, but that just adds to his charm! Henry needs a lot of love and a safe space during thunderstorms, but who can blame him? Loud noises can be scary! Other than his beloved toys, he has not destroyed anything in his foster home. He really is practically perfect! With his adorable smile and puppy dog eyes, you just can’t help fall in love with Henry! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him? We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Lilly — Your Adventure Buddy, Couch Companion, and Loyal Shadow All in One Lilly is a 7-year-old spayed female Labrador Retriever mix, weighing in at a perfect 45 lbs. She’s currently being fostered in Houston, TEXAS, and can transport out of state once matched with an approved adopter! Lilly’s story nearly ended too soon — she was on the euthanasia list at a crowded Houston shelter simply due to lack of space. Thankfully, her amazing foster mom stepped up just in time, and Lilly has been showing her gratitude with tail wags, kisses, and love ever since. Don’t let her age fool you — Lilly still has plenty of pep in her step and absolutely lives for playtime! She’s a big fan of tug-of-war with rope toys, chasing balls in the yard, and going on long, sniff-filled walks. If you're looking for a dog to join you on outdoor adventures and then snuggle up for a cozy movie night, Lilly is your girl. She’s a beautiful mix of independent and affectionate—happy to explore and follow her nose, but always eager to be near her people. Her foster family describes her as curious, loyal, sweet, and a certified cuddle bug. She's been lovingly nicknamed a "velcro dog" thanks to how closely she likes to stick by her humans. Lilly lives with another dog in her foster home and does well with canine companions, though her true joy comes from human interaction. She’ll happily greet you with kisses and tail wags—and she even offers those kisses to other dogs she meets on walks. (Though between us, her real focus is usually on squirrel-spotting!) She’s also cat-experienced and has shown she can be redirected when her interest in the resident feline gets a little too intense. While she hasn’t been tested with children, her loving nature and gentle demeanor suggest she’d likely do well with respectful older kids. Lilly is both crate-trained and potty-trained, and she’s incredibly polite in the home—she’ll even tap the door to let you know when she needs to go out. She does best when fed separately from other dogs, as she prefers to keep her meals to herself, but has no issues with people near her food. Her ideal home? One that’s moderately active, with access to the outdoors and humans who are around often—because nothing makes Lilly happier than being your loyal shadow. Whether you have another pup or she’s your one-and-only, she’ll thrive in a home where she’s included in your daily rhythm and given plenty of time to play, explore, and snuggle. With all the perks of a mature dog (hello, house-trained!) and the heart of a playful pup, Lilly truly offers the best of both worlds. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply to adopt Lilly today and let her joyful spirit brighten your life. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Tigger Tiggy is the definition of a soul dog. Through and through. He loves loves loves his people and within 5 minutes of knowing him, the second you call his name he comes running toward you with the biggest smile on his face. Once he loves you, there truly is no going back. He is incredibly loyal, your ride or die companion, and everything you could want in a dog. Not only does he make deep connections with people, but he is also incredibly smart. The kind of smart that’s driven by how badly he wants to make you happy. He’ll do anything for you simply because he loves you. Of course he’ll work for treats too, but that’s not what drives him… his love for you does. If you look up the definition of a “soul dog,” that is Tigger Tiggy to an absolute T. Watch his video and quickly realize this is your soul dog you’ve been searching for: https://youtu.be/R5zYgv21Mp8?si=f96HDxDwe9jsZdAA Tigger Tiggy is believed to be a pittie mix approximately 4 years old and currently weighs 68 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Tigger is dog friendly and is currently fostered in a home with two other large males and one female dog. His foster says that one of her favorite things about him is the way he is with her older male dog and the way they play together. Tigger has brought out that older dog’s inner “puppy,” and it makes her heart melt watching them enjoy each other’s company. He also did really well with all of the dogs we introduced him to. Tigger is more of a slower burn with other dogs and it does take him a little time to fully feel comfortable and let his goofy side show itself. He appreciates taking his time to get to know other dogs, understand their playstyle, and ultimately feel safe. Give him a little patience in the beginning and the rest is history. Tigger will do best with a female doggy friend that will allow him to get the lay of the land and feel comfortable first. Once he’s settled in his new home, you’ll find your resident dog and Tigger sunbathing together, snuggling up for naps, wrestling in the backyard, and doing everything side by side. All he needs is a little time to trust and he’s golden. Tigger also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around him as well. We do not know if Tigger has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for him to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! There truly is so much to love about Tigger. It was mentioned briefly in the intro that he is very smart, so let’s go into detail about how smart this guy is and how he was born to make you happy. Tigger already knows a handful of commands such as sit and down, is crate trained and potty trained, and walks incredibly well on a leash. He loves to go on walks and is so easy to handle. The second he feels any tension on the leash, he automatically slows his pace. Even when something really interests him, a gentle correction is all it takes and he responds immediately. Tigger also seems to have a solid recall. Call his name (especially in a silly baby voice) and he comes running every time. And when he does? He does this adorable little “happy paw” dance where his front paws bounce off the ground as he trots toward you. It’s the best thing ever and guaranteed to make you smile. Tigger’s foster has shared that he has been around kids ranging from 6–12 years old and has done great with them. He has all the makings of a wonderful family dog. If you have kids and would like to know more about his interactions, we’re happy to arrange that! Tigger could thrive in an apartment with a semi-active family and proper exercise, but his ideal home would include a fenced-in backyard. He loves being outside, exploring, zooming, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying all the smells. A yard where he can do all his favorite things would make him one happy boy. At the end of the day, Tigger just wants to be with you. Whether that’s snuggling on the couch, going for a walk, sitting out on the porch, heading out on a little adventure, or even going on a camping trip, he’s in. Work from home? He'll be the best coworker too. Just don't go running to HR because he's smooching on you. Honestly, as long as he’s with his people, he’s exactly where he wants to be. We are willing to test Tigger Tiggy with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
