Story
Jenga is a wonderful boy who was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. He was a matted mess. He was never groomed and it was discovered that this poor boy had so many twigs and foxtails embedded in fur that caused great pain and discomfort. He must be feeling so much better now. This hasn't dampened his spirits at all. He is so loving, sweet and even. Jenga is great with other dogs and people. He's always looking for a way to get his play on. He walks well on a leash. He is under 2 years and weighs 12 pounds All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
🖤 Meet Milo 8–10 weeks old | Shih Tzu / Maltese mix (best guess) Milo is a little bundle of joy with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. He was found with his sister Mila running down a busy street in Palmdale, CA, looking scared and unsure of where to go. A Good Samaritan stopped, scooped them up, and made sure they were safe. With no microchips and no one coming forward, Milo is now ready to find his forever family. Milo is silly, cuddly, and so much fun. He loves to play, makes everyone laugh, and then happily settles in for snuggles when playtime is over. He is great with other dogs, children, and cats, and is up to date on vaccinations. Our rescue will cover the cost of his neuter surgery when he is 6 months of age or older. 📧 Interested in adopting Milo (or Milo and Mila together)? Please email info@concernedcitizensanimalrescue.org and we’ll gladly send you an adoption application. We will cover his neuter surgery at Simi Valley Spay Neuter clinic when he is six months or older.

Story
Comet is an approximately six-year-old Maltese. A friendly dog, he is a mixture of spunky, loving, and sassy with a medium energy level. Comet gets along with all dogs, male, female, large, medium and small. He would love to have a buddy or two in his home to play with and show him the way. Weighing in at nine pounds, he is currently being fostered with two big dogs and gets along with both. Comet has mastered potty training with no accidents in the last month. He loves going for walks and is excellent on leash. He enjoys going on adventures to new places and taking car rides, too. Comet likes hanging out with his people and is a good boy with visitors coming to the house. Comet does not annoyingly bark, but he does have a little little growl he sometimes uses to tell you he wants to be pet and sometimes to tell you he doesn't want to be bothered. It should not be mistaken as something bad, rather just him being sassy. At night he sleeps quietly in his dog bed. (Sometimes he wants to come up on his foster mom's bed to sleep and she does allow it.) Unfortunately, the people who had Comet before he entered the shelter did not take very good care of him and he had severe periodontal disease. The rescue had to remove all of his teeth as a result. He eats wet food and can eat small, soft treats. Comet loves to sunbathe on warm days and romp around in the yard with his doggie friends. Toys are not a huge interest, but he will occasionally play with them. It's very cute when he gets the zoomies and runs through the house with excitement. Comet is a great little dog who really wants to please and be part of a family. Could that family be yours?

Story
How does a 12 year old adorable tiny pocket pup end up at a shelter in Central California? Popsicle did, and holds no grudges. At a mere 6 lbs, he is getting his needed senior care in a loving foster home, and is ready for a warm, loving place to call his permanent home for the second journey in life. He might be a tad hearing and sight impaired, but still has lots of love to give, and would love nothing more than his own people's arms and laps to cuddle, and a little pouch to go everywhere with them. Popsicle easily learns his new environment, exploring with his impeccable nose and quickly understands where everything is. His best fit home is one that has no stairs - one level living - with a secure, flat, fenced-in yard where he can wander and do his potty, with people who are home most of the time (work from home) - as he would need his potty breaks about every 2.5 hours. Popsicle deserves a wonderful home, will give his people so much love and cuddles, and is ready to be adopted forever. If interested in showing Popsicle his new life, email us at therealbark@gmail.com!

Story
Meet Benny Breed: Maltese Poodle Mix Date of Birth: November 17, 2020 Gender: Male (Neutered) Weight: 15 pounds Personality Benny is a gentle and somewhat skittish Maltese Poodle mix who thrives best in a calm and understanding environment. With his reserved nature, he tends to observe the world from a distance, often preferring solitude or the company of a trusted few. While shy at first, Benny's heart is full of potential for love and loyalty, waiting to be unlocked by a patient and nurturing family. He is selective with his canine companions, enjoying the company of other dogs that match his calm demeanor. With the right support, Benny can blossom into a loving companion, though he may need guidance in socializing and building confidence. Breed Information Maltese Poodle mixes, often called "Maltipoos," are known for their charming and affectionate nature. Combining the gentle, loving personality of the Maltese with the intelligence and playfulness of the Poodle, these dogs are cherished for their adaptability and friendly demeanor. Maltipoos are typically low-shedding, making them a popular choice for those with allergies. They thrive on human interaction and require mental and physical stimulation to keep them happy and engaged. What to Expect As an owner of a Maltese Poodle mix like Benny, you can expect a devoted but initially reserved companion. Benny will thrive in a home where he receives plenty of love and patience. His intelligence means he's capable of learning new tricks and commands with positive reinforcement, though he may require extra encouragement to come out of his shell. Benny's selective nature with other dogs means socialization will be a rewarding but gradual process, helping him become more comfortable in various settings. Owner's Responsibilities Exercise: Ensure Benny gets daily exercise through gentle walks and indoor play sessions. His small size doesn't demand extensive activity, but regular movement is essential for his well-being. Training: Enroll Benny in obedience classes to build his confidence and improve his social skills. Consistent training with positive reinforcement will help him feel more secure. Grooming: Regular grooming is crucial to maintain Benny's coat health. Brushing several times a week will prevent matting and keep his coat looking its best. Health Care: Keep up with routine veterinary visits and vaccinations. A balanced diet tailored to his size and lifestyle will support his overall health and well-being. Affection and Socialization: Provide Benny with plenty of love and gradual socialization opportunities. Encourage interactions with other dogs and people in a controlled and positive environment. Commitment for Life Adopting Benny means committing to a lifelong journey filled with patience, love, and companionship. Dogs like Benny are not just pets—they become cherished family members who rely on you for care and protection. It's important to remember that dogs should not be left alone for long periods, as they thrive on companionship and interaction. By choosing Benny, you are promising to provide a safe, nurturing, and loving home throughout his life. The happiness and love he will bring into your life are immeasurable, and your dedication to his well-being will enrich both your lives in countless ways.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions or scan the QR code and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.
