Theo is an adorable Maltese Poodle mix, about 2 years old and weighs 10 lbs. He was rescued from a bad living situation where he was not cared for properly. Theo is a joyful, friendly boy. He is active but does settle down and is polite and respectful. He sleeps calmly through the night and rarely barks. He is crate trained and likes sleeping in his crate and will choose to sleep there on his own. Theo loves his walks and would be a great walking buddy. He loves his toys and will entertain himself. He would do well as the only dog in the household or with another playful dog. Theo is up to date on vaccines and neutered, he will be microchipped as well. Story

Jenga is a wonderful boy who was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. He was a matted mess. He was never groomed and it was discovered that this poor boy had so many twigs and foxtails embedded in fur that caused great pain and discomfort. He must be feeling so much better now. This hasn't happened his spirits at all. He is so loving, sweet and even. Jenga is great with other dogs and people. He also walks well on a leash. He is under 2 years and weighs 12 pounds All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Adorable Fern is a Lover. She bonds quickly, is completely crate trained, and prefers females to males. In fact, you can sense that Fern is looking for that person to dedicate to. Fern’s backstory will give you a clear picture of WHY. Fern’s former human loved and depended on her. The person was struggling and lived in her car with Fern, and Fern’s young pup. And sweet, loyal Fern - although young herself - took over the role of the adult in the relationship, looking after both parent & pup. When the human was forced to give up her dogs, Fern was taken into the shelter, where we took both she and her pup to find homes for. Fern went into foster even before her pup, with a husband and wife and other dog. And while we have many pics of Fern cuddling with the husband (as the wife was working out of town), when she returned it was ALL about the wife. Fern lit up and followed her around and was so relieved to have her back. And further, Fern was clear she preferred the wife over the husband. At present, Fern’s ideal home is one with a single female. Now, as Fern is still young, this absolutely can change, but that will be through diligent work. As stated, her ideal home now is with a single female person , who understands how Fern resonates, and will respect that resonance…while respecting her own. Didi is a Malt-Poo who is 3 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Don't judge a book by its cover. Poor Didi was a victim of some clipper-happy unskilled shelter worker who butchered her while she was under getting spayed. Take a look at the before picture for reference on her coat before it was stripped. These pics of her now are after our groomer did whatever they could to fix the ragged mess. Didi is originally a little timid at first around strangers but will warm up quickly with some pets and kind words. With her foster parents she's been playful and affectionate. She seems to trust women more quickly than men but she bonds with both. She is housetrained and enjoys toys and is alert and interested in whatever is going on. Due to her time on the streets in survival mode, Didi is still a little hesitant on the leash on walks and needs to develop more confidence. She would enjoy the company of another dog who will play with her and a yard. Didi is a diamond in the rough and deserves a new start in a loving forever home. Our adorable puppy, Forest is looking for his forever home! Forest is an approximately 9 month old Westie who definitely has some maltese him also. He came to us with his mom and two sisters when they were being given away for free from a car that was on the side of a road. Thankfully, a kind woman got them from the person giving them away and reached out to our rescue to see if we could take them in and we said yes! His mother and two sisters have been adopted and now Forest needs his forever family! We are looking for a home that has another young and playful dog and a yard for him to run around in. He will come to you a little scared and shy, but give him the patience and love he needs to feel safe and he will open up in no time! Owner that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal. Forest is one special little guy who deserves the best home out there! Forest is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET SIR JORDY….”one of the nicest dogs we’ve ever transported for you!” That’s what our transporter said when he brought him to us from San Bernardino. This sweetheart is likely Maltese/Pomeranian (sheds a little), 10.5 lbs, 1.5-2 yrs old and almost pure white! If you don’t like kisses, stop reading here because that’s how he greets you! He is just a puppy so he sometimes gets carried away and might nip your nose! For that reason, we think he would be best in a home with older kids (over 8 yrs), he definitely wants another dog to hang around with and a yard would be awesome. He can be very mellow…mostly when he is sleeping! But he loves to play and he is really smart and wants to please you. Exercise and walks will tired him out and then he will love to cuddle with you and he will sit on your lap…just not all day! He really wouldn’t be good in a mature home — he wants to see the world! Jordy is just learning how to walk on a leash, so occasionally he will get really excited and jump high up in the air! Can be a wiggle worm, as he just got neutered and didn’t love his cone of shame! He came to us with huge matts behind his ears and while his coat turned out great, he was carrying around everything with him but the kitchen sink. It was just too lovely to shave and he is very proud of it! If you have the “right stuff” Jordy would love to join your family!
