James Bone 007 is on a mission, not to save the world, but to find his forever home! This dashing 9-year-old, 13 lb Maltese-Pom mix was found wandering the streets of Compton after an ICE raid, likely separated from his owner. With no microchip and no way to trace his family, James spent a month in foster care while neighbors searched for his owner. Then, he was brought to us at Shelter Hope in the hopes of finding him a wonderful new home. Since moving in with his foster family, James has proven himself to be a true gentleman. His foster says he seems house-trained (not a single accident!) and will politely sniff at the door when he needs to go out. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys leisurely strolls in the park, and, like any alert little secret agent, keeps an eye on the world around him, sometimes barking at other dogs or out the window. James is a wonderful companion with excellent manners. He adores children, warms up easily to adults, and loves being near his humans, though he’s also independent enough to settle quietly on his own. He enjoys snuggles and pets but isn’t overly clingy, and he’ll happily follow you from room to room, waiting patiently by your side. Though his foster noticed that his hearing may not be the best, James doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He’s thriving, happy, and ready to share his sweet, steady presence with a family who will love him. Polly Bio: Adopt Polly! She is a 12-year-old Maltese mix who’s ready to spend her golden years by your side! This sweet senior girl has a low energy level and loves to spend most of her day napping, but don’t be fooled, when it’s time for a walk, she lights right up and prances out the door with the biggest smile. She’s fully house-trained and knows how to sit, and she’s the definition of an easygoing, happy companion. Polly is incredibly friendly with everyone she meets, familiar faces, strangers, kids, and other dogs alike. She greets every person and pup with a wagging tail and a kind, gentle demeanor. She is truly just a happy girl who enjoys life and people 🥹 Polly is also bonded with her best friend Bella, a 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix. Bella’s calm and loving nature perfectly complements Polly’s cheerful spirit, they love going on walks together, curling up for naps, and simply being near their people. Wherever one goes, the other happily follows. While Polly loves to be with her people, she’s learned to feel comfortable and secure when left alone. She’ll happily curl up to nap until her person returns. When she hears the leash jingle, though, she can’t contain her excitement, walks are truly the highlight of her day. Jenga is a wonderful boy who was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. He was a matted mess. He was never groomed and it was discovered that this poor boy had so many twigs and foxtails embedded in fur that caused great pain and discomfort. He must be feeling so much better now. This hasn't dampened his spirits at all. He is so loving, sweet and even. Jenga is great with other dogs and people. He's always looking for a way to get his play on. He walks well on a leash. He is under 2 years and weighs 12 pounds All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them.
