James Bone 007 is on a mission, not to save the world, but to find his forever home! This dashing 9-year-old, 13 lb Maltese-Pom mix was found wandering the streets of Compton after an ICE raid, likely separated from his owner. With no microchip and no way to trace his family, James spent a month in foster care while neighbors searched for his owner. Then, he was brought to us at Shelter Hope in the hopes of finding him a wonderful new home. Since moving in with his foster family, James has proven himself to be a true gentleman. His foster says he seems house-trained (not a single accident!) and will politely sniff at the door when he needs to go out. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys leisurely strolls in the park, and, like any alert little secret agent, keeps an eye on the world around him, sometimes barking at other dogs or out the window. James is a wonderful companion with excellent manners. He adores children, warms up easily to adults, and loves being near his humans, though he’s also independent enough to settle quietly on his own. He enjoys snuggles and pets but isn’t overly clingy, and he’ll happily follow you from room to room, waiting patiently by your side. Though his foster noticed that his hearing may not be the best, James doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He’s thriving, happy, and ready to share his sweet, steady presence with a family who will love him. Meet and greets will be held in RIVERSIDE, CA https://pawsitivetailstoremember.forms-db.com/view.php?id=17980 Norah is 2 years old, she weighs 11 lbs and the best we can tell, she is a Maltese/Papillon/Chinese Crested mix with a beautiful pure white long-haired coat which will require regular grooming. Norah loves everyone, people, children, dogs and cats and she’s just perfect. Norah is full of playful energy and will fit into any type of a home. The backstory on Norah is that she ended up in the Devore Shelter in San Bernardino County and the shelter listed her as “rescue only” because she was pregnant. In their words, heavily pregnant. We rescued Norah and when we picked her up, she was fully engorged with milk. She was filthy and matted, and her foster had to bathe her and cut away all of her mats in her fur to prepare for her to give birth. When bathing her, Lucille was feeling her belly for puppies and to her shock and surprise, she could feel nothing. We quickly made a vet appointment where she had an ultrasound which confirmed that there were no puppies in her belly. SHE WAS NO LONGER PREGNANT. What we do know is that she was pregnant and she was full of milk, but she came into the shelter with no puppies and per the shelter, she did not give birth while in their care, so we can only assume that she gave birth right before entering the shelter. We have no knowledge of where or what happened to them. It was incredibly sad for all of us and especially for Norah. Norah is house and crate trained and she comes when called, so absolutely no name changes! Norah is playful and inquisitive, loves to be around her people and she is cat and dog friendly with the other animals in the home and she loves treats! Please note that while she is crate trained, we don’t want her living in a crate in her forever home! We do require at least one other YOUNG small dog in the home as a companion for Norah! No exceptions. Norah is microchipped, current on vaccines, spayed and she would love nothing more than a forever family to call her own.

Jenga is a wonderful boy who was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. He was a matted mess. He was never groomed and it was discovered that this poor boy had so many twigs and foxtails embedded in fur that caused great pain and discomfort. He must be feeling so much better now. This hasn't dampened his spirits at all. He is so loving, sweet and even. Jenga is great with other dogs and people. He's always looking for a way to get his play on. He walks well on a leash. He is under 2 years and weighs 12 pounds All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them.
