Weighing just 12 pounds, she’s the perfect size for cuddling on the couch—or quietly following you around the house as your loyal little shadow. With her gorgeous long blonde coat and soulful golden eyes, Bella is a showstopper. Her hair is hypoallergenic, and we believe she may be a Maltese or Lhasa Apso mix. She’s calm, friendly, and incredibly loving—truly the definition of an easygoing companion. Bella is fully house-trained, crate trained, and very well-behaved. She enjoys exploring the backyard at her own relaxed pace, then settling in for cozy cuddle time with her foster. She gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for many types of families. Health-wise, Bella is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She was rescued from the Palmdale shelter along with her baby, Fiona, and has been an amazing mama. Now that her puppy is grown, it’s Bella’s turn to be cherished. Story

Jenga is a wonderful boy who was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. He was a matted mess. He was never groomed and it was discovered that this poor boy had so many twigs and foxtails embedded in fur that caused great pain and discomfort. He must be feeling so much better now. This hasn't dampened his spirits at all. He is so loving, sweet and even. Jenga is great with other dogs and people. He's always looking for a way to get his play on. He walks well on a leash. He is under 2 years and weighs 12 pounds All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. James Bone 007 is on a mission, not to save the world, but to find his forever home! This dashing 9-year-old, 13 lb Maltese-Pom mix was found wandering the streets of Compton after an ICE raid, likely separated from his owner. With no microchip and no way to trace his family, James spent a month in foster care while neighbors searched for his owner. Then, he was brought to us at Shelter Hope in the hopes of finding him a wonderful new home. Since moving in with his foster family, James has proven himself to be a true gentleman. His foster says he seems house-trained (not a single accident!) and will politely sniff at the door when he needs to go out. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys leisurely strolls in the park, and, like any alert little secret agent, keeps an eye on the world around him, sometimes barking at other dogs or out the window. James is a wonderful companion with excellent manners. He adores children, warms up easily to adults, and loves being near his humans, though he’s also independent enough to settle quietly on his own. He enjoys snuggles and pets but isn’t overly clingy, and he’ll happily follow you from room to room, waiting patiently by your side. Though his foster noticed that his hearing may not be the best, James doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He’s thriving, happy, and ready to share his sweet, steady presence with a family who will love him. Story

Comet is an approximately six-year-old Maltese. A friendly dog, he is a mixture of spunky, loving, and sassy with a medium energy level. Comet gets along with all dogs, male, female, large, medium and small. He would love to have a buddy or two in his home to play with and show him the way. Weighing in at nine pounds, he is currently being fostered with two big dogs and gets along with both. Comet has mastered potty training with no accidents in the last month. He loves going for walks and is excellent on leash. He enjoys going on adventures to new places and taking car rides, too. Comet likes hanging out with his people and is a good boy with visitors coming to the house. Comet does not annoyingly bark, but he does have a little little growl he sometimes uses to tell you he wants to be pet and sometimes to tell you he doesn't want to be bothered. It should not be mistaken as something bad, rather just him being sassy. At night he sleeps quietly in his dog bed. (Sometimes he wants to come up on his foster mom's bed to sleep and she does allow it.) Unfortunately, the people who had Comet before he entered the shelter did not take very good care of him and he had severe periodontal disease. The rescue had to remove all of his teeth as a result. He eats wet food and can eat small, soft treats. Comet loves to sunbathe on warm days and romp around in the yard with his doggie friends. Toys are not a huge interest, but he will occasionally play with them. It's very cute when he gets the zoomies and runs through the house with excitement. Comet is a great little dog who really wants to please and be part of a family. Could that family be yours?
