This sweet senior girl has a low energy level and loves to spend most of her day napping, but don’t be fooled, when it’s time for a walk, she lights right up and prances out the door with the biggest smile. She’s fully house-trained and knows how to sit, and she’s the definition of an easygoing, happy companion. Polly is incredibly friendly with everyone she meets, familiar faces, strangers, kids, and other dogs alike. She greets every person and pup with a wagging tail and a kind, gentle demeanor. She is truly just a happy girl who enjoys life and people 🥹 Polly is also bonded with her best friend Bella, a 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix. Bella’s calm and loving nature perfectly complements Polly’s cheerful spirit, they love going on walks together, curling up for naps, and simply being near their people. Wherever one goes, the other happily follows. While Polly loves to be with her people, she’s learned to feel comfortable and secure when left alone. She’ll happily curl up to nap until her person returns. When she hears the leash jingle, though, she can’t contain her excitement, walks are truly the highlight of her day. Story

Jenga is a wonderful boy who was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. He was a matted mess. He was never groomed and it was discovered that this poor boy had so many twigs and foxtails embedded in fur that caused great pain and discomfort. He must be feeling so much better now. This hasn't dampened his spirits at all. He is so loving, sweet and even. Jenga is great with other dogs and people. He's always looking for a way to get his play on. He walks well on a leash. He is under 2 years and weighs 12 pounds All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. Dante is a beautiful Maltipo. He's about 8 years old and weighs about 9 lbs. He's a great little fella with a fun personality! He walks wonderful on leash. Potty trained and crate trained. Story

Comet is an approximately six-year-old Maltese. A friendly dog, he is a mixture of spunky, loving, and sassy with a medium energy level. Comet gets along with all dogs, male, female, large, medium and small. He would love to have a buddy or two in his home to play with and show him the way. Weighing in at nine pounds, he is currently being fostered with two big dogs and gets along with both. Comet has mastered potty training with no accidents in the last month. He loves going for walks and is excellent on leash. He enjoys going on adventures to new places and taking car rides, too. Comet likes hanging out with his people and is a good boy with visitors coming to the house. Comet does not annoyingly bark, but he does have a little little growl he sometimes uses to tell you he wants to be pet and sometimes to tell you he doesn't want to be bothered. It should not be mistaken as something bad, rather just him being sassy. At night he sleeps quietly in his dog bed. (Sometimes he wants to come up on his foster mom's bed to sleep and she does allow it.) Unfortunately, the people who had Comet before he entered the shelter did not take very good care of him and he had severe periodontal disease. The rescue had to remove all of his teeth as a result. He eats wet food and can eat small, soft treats. Comet loves to sunbathe on warm days and romp around in the yard with his doggie friends. Toys are not a huge interest, but he will occasionally play with them. It's very cute when he gets the zoomies and runs through the house with excitement. Comet is a great little dog who really wants to please and be part of a family. Could that family be yours?

Davey Pimento is a 2 year old adorable, small, charming Maltese-Poodle mix. He is a happy lad despite not being treated well by his former owner. Davey is healing in foster with another dog, and is an absolute lap companion and enjoys his walks, naps, and interaction with others. He has not been tested with cats nor children yet, so for now we will say his ideal home is with a single or a couple and other dogs are good, based on proper introduction. Again, given how harsh his earlier life was, we are looking for nurturing, structured individuals that are interested in helping this handsome little gent thrive.
